Quickteller is a financial services platform, owned by Interswitch, via which almost all Nigerian banks provide online payments and ATM transactions.
As a Quickteller Agent you are able to legally provide most of the services rendered by our regular banks.
Quickteller charges N100 per transaction and you keep half of it. So if you do 30 or 50 transactions per day, times N50 you get your profit which is immediately credited to your trading account. 1. You don't want to test the depth of a river with both feet. This simply means that you shouldn't start with a business that can consume all of the funds you have at hand.
2. Every business is risky, that is the reason you are entitled to a profit. The higher the risk the higher the return on investment (ROI)
3 . At the beginning of every business, there are so many unknown, but the longer you last in a particular business the fewer the unknown become. This is the place of experience. Unknown can be existence of community (or Alaye) fees, which if not paid may result to seizure of goods. Or could be the existence of government prohibition laws which may lead to legal sanctions.
My advice to you as a newbie is to enter the business world via Agency business. Look for a reputable organization that you can attach to as distributor or agent. This way you can shield yourself from the many unknown I earlier talked about and even take advantage of their existing marketing /advertising campaigns to expand your new business.
If I knew this 15yrs ago, I would have avoided the losses I had to insure myself.

Interswitch has made entry and participation in financial services provision to be FREE. All you need is an android phone which you already own. The N10k you pay will be returned to you to commence trading.
So you have nothing to lose if you give it a try and decide it's too difficult for you. No extra equipment left over. Just sell some services recover your money with profit and walk.

I feel your pain because am also involved. I own and run a bet shop.
I appreciate the honest contribution most people have given here, I will add a few and also some correction.
Regrettably Solar may not be a viable solution because of the level of power consumption required in your shop. But if you are thinking of only powering a laptop and 1 thermal printer then maybe you can consider Solar power with minimum cost of N500k for Batteries, Inverter and Panels.
However the simple solution I always offer people in this situation is to do whatever it takes to increase customers entering your shop. Secondly a bet shop has equipment ready for many other types of businesses so why restrict yourself to betting only?
I render financial services which is not affected by power since I only use my phone and a power bank for backup power. The financial service draws more customers to my shop some of which are converted to my bet shop while the commissions from the financial services I render the public helps we pay salaries and take care of other shop bills.
