I have no gain in spoiling your market, i am just expressing my views, which I am entitled to hold.
Lol, @ bolded I wonder why you would think that tho chief. This is merely an exchange of opinions and information.
You quoted me with simple and direct questions, and i replied with simple and direct answers to your query. honestly don't understand the spoil market part.

about the subject,
Those who have lamps with motion sensors, will know that having a sensor doesn't limit the operation of that lamp to automated switching only. if for any reason the sensor on your lamp gets damaged or you simply decide not to use it, you just resort to manual switching like any other indoor or outdoor lamp. Motion detectors and sensors are just an added accessory to provide the option of automation, It doesn't limit you to that. A lamp is still just a lamp. As long as current passes through the wires and gets to the bulb, it will light up. there's really no complexity, its that simple. Technology exists to provide us with flexibility and convenience.
Most Solar lamps on the other hand will not have any wiring going to them, as they cannot be powered directly with AC, which is why challenges may arise in the event of a damaged panel., especially if the panel and lamp are one unit.

about seeing stuff within your compound, I think you missed my mention of "perimeter lights" when i talked about lights being on at all times. By perimeter lights i mean outside external walls. If an intruder is within the compound then the perimeter is already breached.

'YOU' never stop surprising me!
I can only say "keep it Up".

BTW: Since it is meant for "outdoor", ; am sure IP56 is the general "standard rating" for outdoor security products like this.
Can you not get it in IP56 or give buyers the option of choosing either IP44 or IP56.
What prices are we looking at (for small Boys Pocket) ;
Thanks chief, means alot.

First off, I used the adjective "true" to empahsize that the lamp is actually tested and certified to possess the stated level of ingress protection as indicated by Philips. I for one know that 90% percent of the outdoor lamps we have here just have IP ratings inscribed on them for inscription sake. Even when you can see gaping holes in a lamp, you'll see it carry an IP56 rating.

Now about the rating , i believe ( could be wrong) IP56 would apply to more sensitive items like machines and a different water source. From a nozzle, jet propelled for instance

Rain and other light splashes are what i believe lamp enclosures are typically designed around. Plus the top of this is so beautifully designed that rain would practically just roll off the curved top.

Why would I want a PIR sensor light in Nigeria ? I thought most people would want security lights on most of the time especially at night.

Is it a security thing whereby once there is motion, the light will come on to make the person know that "we see you oo, we know you have landed". I just wonder..
For the exact same reason why other people in other parts of the world want it.... Security and Energy conservation.

The question should be, why would you want your perimeter light on at all times in the first place....when for the larger percentage of the time it is neither providing illumination to anybody around, nor deterring intrusion....

Which do you think is more deterring... A light that just sits there ON,... or one that suddenly comes on upon approach which by the way also draws attention because of the sudden illumination,
Not to speak of the psychological twist of making the intruder wonder what other suprises this building could spring or might have in stock.

It's a no brainer really
