Truth is: these days, all AC's are alike, they have similar models - the low voltage models, the allergy filter models etc. Most people will tell you Panasonic because of their pedigree but to tell you the truth, they are all the same, the LG's & Samsung's are as good as the Panasonics. |
And when you do return it for repairs under warranty, don't tell them that it fell down, it could void your warranty. |

Take for example: a good quality halogen bulb eg Osram Nightbreaker plus has a lifespan of roughly 300 hours. You find the tokunbo to buy in the market, true to fact, it is original, but how much more juice do you think it has left in it? Take plugs as a 2nd example, platinum and Iridium plugs are expensive compared to copper electrode plugs, but in reality, the only major advantage they have (platinum & iridium electrode plugs) over copper plugs is their lifespan, manufacturers recommend replacing iridium plugs every 100,000 miles (an average of 8-10yrs driving for the working class); while they recommend replacing copper plugs every 30,000 miles (an average of 3yrs). Copper plugs cost less than $15 for a set of 4. Using China plugs, you can buy as much as 10 sets in 3yrs. As for tokunboh, the average mechanic plus most car users do not know that the plug specifications are different for every car, a CRV will not use the same plugs as an Accord, and when your car starts to malfunction (jerk or misfire most times), you check and probably change out every other part & leave d plug for last probably replacing it with another set of tokunboh with the wrong clearance! Who can say he has used 1 set of tokunbo shocks for 5yrs? Can you say d same of OEM shocks (not China)? Cumulatively, the new OEM parts are cheaper and more reliable, but unfotunately, many of us learn this fact the hard way! Buying tokunbo has its own dangers too. |
@Why Now: How were you able to resolve the situation, were you able to locate a dealer? I am in the exact same predicament at the moment. |
