Thanks.

You need the POF for your application. However, although you are required to bring the pof while landing you might or might not be asked to show it. I had the POF with me while landing though.

Yes, I need to sort out some issues before finally relocating to Canada. To maintain permanent resident status, one needs to stay in Canada 2 years out of 5 years. So it is not compulsory that one relocates to Canada immediately. However, one will have to land in Canada before the date stated on your COPR which is usually a year after medicals. After landing, you can come back to your home country but you will need to travel back to Canada within the next 3 years to retain PR status.

Congratulations on your landing. Will you be returning to Nigeria before your PR card arrives? Or have you factored that in to your plans.

Congratulations again

Honestly Iphie, if I were in your shoes, I would apply and attach both ECAs with a letter of explanation. I will state that the WES evaluation was a bit ambiguous since it had both 'first professional degree' and 'Bachelor's degree', so I had to do another evaluation with a different body for an unambiguos and better clarification of my credentials.

This is what I would definitely do. All the best dear. God will give you the wisdom you need at this point!

Hi Iphie,

I'd just like to echo what @NittaJ said.

The LOE tab covers a multitude of sins. Provide all the information there and explain. In fact, the amount of random information I told them in my LOE ehn.. I just wanted to cover all my bases.

Please don't bother waiting for another ITA. Use this one.

Wish you the best. We're all rooting for you.

I think i need to say this as i'm experiencing being banned almost all the time or some of my comments removed. It seems Justwise is always suspicious of my comments after the last incidence, to the extent that i'm no longer free to write the way i want, i have to censor and censor so that my comments dont get raise suspicion and consequently removed or i get banned. I'm not trying to blow any trumpet, we still have people here who are knowledgeable but there could be a need to check the replies we give people so people dont get misled, its one of the major reasons i stayed otherwise. It can be very embarrasing when you are trying to be of help and someobne chooses to frustrate your effort

Your input really helped me. Thanks a lot.

Hello All,

Please Im new to this forum and I need suggestions on a particular situation bothering me. My husband and I just got PPR request for passport for visa issuance from the Canadian Embassy, after a very long wait . We had taken our minds off it n assumed it was refused without communication . At the moment, I am in the US for childbirth . Due to return to Nigeria mid June. We have been given 30days to respond with our police certificate from the UK and also to send our passports for the visas. My own take on it is for my husband to go ahead to process his since he is the primary applicant and inform the embassy that I am not in the country and will send mine when I get back. Another suggestion we got was to notarise a photocopy of my passport and keep for my use here in the US while I send my original to the Canadian Embassy In Accra or to my husband. I am not comfortable with these options because I dont want to get stranded here waiting for my passport when its time to return to Nigeria. Also I need to process the baby documents and its not certain that I will be allowed to notarise as a non-resident of the US.

Considering the timeline we have been given, How can we ensure this application is not cancelled. Please anyone who has a suggestion on how best to handle this.

Here's what I suggest you do. If your husband is in Nigeria, he should go ahead and send his passport as requested. Then he should request a change in local VO for you. Also in sending his passport, he should notify CIC that you have a baby on the way.

Anyway, so CIC will send a new PPR for you to send your passport to Ottawa. Make sure YOU wait till you get that change of VO email. Once it comes, send your own passport to Ottawa... as that is the place where the PR visa is issued for people in the US.

I hope this helps.

Dear everyone,

I have a question relating to proof of funds too. I submitted my application since December 2015. I wish to know if I have to leave the funds untouched till I get PPR?

Thank you

Till after you land.

You might need POF at landing.

Hello All,

Please is there any one who has attended the Heriot-Watts University, Edinburgh Business School ?

I'm about to enroll for a Post Graduate Certificate course online n Business Management and I plan to get it evaluated by WES to get more points when evaluated with my Bachelors degree (two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees)

Please has any one gone through this process ?

I hear WES might not evaluate post graduate certificates for one to choose two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees.

Please advise as I do not want to enroll for this course and WES does not evaluate it as a grad certificate of Canadian equivalency.

WES has a tool online, however, there are no certificates or diplomas than can be evaluated using the tool.

Kindly advise, Thanks.

Just to add... if you do an online degree, be sure to mention in your LOE at the point of application that it is an online. Otherwise, CIC will expect you to include the PCC for the country where you got the degree. There is an assumption that you lived in the country.

Congrats on your PPR. Could you kindly give a breakdown of your entire process? for learning purposes. thanksssss.

I am not sure I have the accurate dates in my head but I'll try.

I received an ITA in July and submitted my first application in September. 3rd of September. My application was rejected on the 9th of September because I murked up my police report. The police report from when I lived in the UK was outdated. Lol if I had been more diligent in my research I won't have made that error.

Got back into the pool and received another ITA the following week or thereabouts.

Submitted New application 1st October. Received AOR a couple of days after.
Medical passed a few days after that.

Then the long silence. BG check in progress on February 28. PPR March 2.

Yay! Still on the journey so the experience continues.

This forum as well as Canadavisa.com -very useful and helped me keep calm. Lol Pretty much confirmed the 5month Mark for EE Outland applicants.

All the best.make sure you have all your ducks in a row before you apply.

Oh one more thing.... it takes about 8 weeks to have your money refunded after you've been rejected. So just be patient.

Took 2 months to PPR from BG in progress (probably due to quota related issue as my BG went into in progress towards the end of the year and I got my PPR first week in January)

COPR took 4 weeks with VFS. I learnt most of those who use DHL get their passport back in 2 weeks (15 Calendar days)

Hi guys,

I received my PPR today. I've been ecstatic. Hahahah honestly grateful to you, @zandora and @jesusdway. This platform has been a very useful resource.

Thank you so much. My EE journey has been quite nerve wracking.

I'm going to use DHL as advised to send my passport. But seeing as I'm currently in the US I'm guessing I'll have to send my passport to a visa application office here in the States. The letter doesn't state where to address the DHL though...

Any pointers?

In any case, I wish everybody on this journey the best of luck.

I pray it works out well for everyone.

Just to add to what Zandora posted on pof; your current bank statement + debit card of the account, in addition to little cash would just suffice. You don't have to land with all the cash on you. I landed with $1000 grin because of the current dollar trouble; and I backed up with it up with my latest account statement.

Thanks a lot. This is very useful knowledge. I'll take note of this.

How long did it take for them to return your passport after you sent it in for the visa?

Oh and did your BG check to PPR take two days as well?

Thank you all for your congratulatory messages, I'm so touched you have no idea!

Congratulations to you Zandora! I read the news and was super glad for you. Thanks for sharing the tips on getting a job in Canada. It was very helpful.

I have a question for you and @irondome if you don't mind smiley

Do you know how long after receipt of the background check in progress update do they send the PPR?
Please can you advise on the steps after this stage and the timeline?

Also, do they require any further proof of funds? Will the applicant be expected to bring actual cash into Canada?

Thank you very much and congratulations to you on your job.

No interview, No additional document request, No decision made status as most applicants lost access to ECAS few months ago. And you can be anywhere for your PPR, you only have to request a change of visa office for visa stamping.

Thanks a lot for this.

I was wondering about ECAS too. I thought something had gone wrong with my application.

Thanks again.

Hello Irondome,

I apologize ahead if this question has been answered before. Please do you mind detailing the steps after receiving the Decision Made notification?

What are the next steps? Is there an interview scheduled?

Also before you got the DM update, did you receive any emails from CIC requesting anything or any information?

Is there a requirement that the applicant has to be in Nigeria at the time the Decision Made notification comes?

Please advise.

Input from other Elders in the house who have submitted their application is welcome.

Thank you very much.

Sorry to hear about your refusal, PCC's can be quite tricky. Didn't receive any call from cic neither did my employer. No interview however I was asked to complete my travel history. I just included as many documents as I could to further establish/clarify my work history.

Thanks a lot. Fingers crossed now.

I did not apply via Quebec, I applied via FSW express entry.

Hi Zandora,
Your insight and input has been very helpful on this thread. Thank you for everything.

I was wondering if I could pick your brain a bit.

I received an ITA and excitedly applied on the 3rd of September. Unfortunately, my application was rejected 6 days later. The police report I sent for my time in the UK was dated before I stopped living there and as such my application was thrown out.

I got back into the pool and applied for a fresh police report and I was drawn again and invited to apply. For the second application, I got all my ducks in a row and included as many documents as I could.

I was on a nervous 6-day watch from the time I submitted the application. Once bitten, twice shy. All of the excitement from the first round was extinguished and now I am just filled with nerves and I'm apprehensive. The What-Ifs plague me terribly.

I read here that you received your PPR and read where you gave details of your profile - it's closely similar to mine.. and for some reason I have had a spirit of calm reading your story.

Please can you share some of your experiences (if any) during the 5-month wait? Did CIC call you? Your employer? Did they request any documents? Did they ask you to come for an interview? Were there any extra details you needed to provide?

I would appreciate it if you can share.

Thanks.

I don't understand your question. Are you asking for the bank letter format requested by CIC or do you know the format but GTB won't write the letter for you in CIC'S format?

Hi.

I was asking because GTBank says they won't write the letter for me in CIC's format.

I wanted to know if someone else had the same issue and what they did to get around it.

Thank you @Zandora

@Zandora @Jesusdway

Hi guys,

Please does anybody have any information on the format the letter from the Bank is supposed to be in - for Express Entry.

GTBank is saying they need me to request more than one letter for the information required by CIC.

Thank you.
