Thank you Seun. at least I wasn't wrong. It's not bad to make things right, especially now that I still have the opportunity. |
The truth is that software piracy is theft. What I am looking for is a genuine cheaper way of buying software. maybe a promo/auction website. I know alot of people here are not using pirated software. eg Seun. |
Don't we have people using genuine software on Nairaland? what of Cyber Cafes? Any help will be appreciated. thanks. |
I recently felt the urge to stop using pirated software. 90% of the software I use is pirated. to make it worse, we have five (5) PCS in our Cyber cafe which uses pirated copy of Windows 7 and Office 2007. I was able to find alternative open source applications software that are fair enough but I am hooked in getting cheap windows 7 for five (5) PCs. Let for me, I would have gladly converted my Laptop to Linux but I run a mini cyber cafe, and their is need to use what people are used to in public places. I want reformat everything with legal copies and free/open source applications. I can also afford office 365 per year for five (5) PCS PLEASE don't judge or condemn me. just comment if you have any good advise and alternative way out for me. Thank you. |
@ OP, so far you have been privileged to obtain some of the best responses in relation to your query.I am short of words. i really appreciate everyone that contributed positively in answering some of my questions. with the knowledge i have gathered from this post, i can boldly approach a lawyer and have clearer understanding of whatever counsel he'll be giving to me. I've pulled a link for below you and it should tell you most of the things you need to know. Good luckThis is another reason i approached Nairaland first before consulting a lawyer. this site is too loaded and will go along way in helping new start-ups conceptualize their business idea. Thank You.

i am somehow confused in this share of a thing especially when one wants to start a new venture. lets assume i want to start a business that will require an initial funding of N2 million to take off, and i have an investor who is interested in releasing the fund and be made a director in the new business. the business is expected to grow and attract bigger investors that are willing to invest N10 million and be made directors as well. my only contribution is that i have registered the company (LTD) and i presently have 99% shares. Now my questions are: 1. How do i allocate shares to these investors? 2. How is the money the business will be generating be shared? 3. Am i to be giving them money on daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis (in terms of revenue/profit? 4. how can i keep a minimum share of 55% to my self? 5. What if an investor wants his money back and pull out? 6. What are other things i need to know about company ownership and share allocation? Please explanations with illustrations will be highly appreciated. Thanks. |

The Glo that's good today, will be bad tomorrow. Cos more people will join, the network will be congested, just like you saw your friend's speed, other people will see their friend's speed, and the services will go down, though, I must commend that glo is a good company, cos I went to their shop in Jan. and they say due to congestion ( if that's true), they stopped selling modems.whats the name of the product you are using can i see the image, please tell me with details, since i can still use different networks with the modem and still have the same service people using their modem are getting. i think i will go for it, just tell me the spec you are using and how good it is. |
i thought i have seen modem that you can use mtn, glo, zain and etisalat sim with it, or is it 3 in 1 if am mistaken. thats what i mean. |
hi all, i am planning to buy USB modem by next week Wednesday, thou i have sen my friend use glo modem browsing and is very fast i must confess, but i am contemplating whether to buy the 4 in 1 usb modem which uses mtn, glo, zain and etisalat line. I want to know how good is this 4 in 1 for those of you that have used it, should i go ahead and buy it or just go to glo office in Abuja and buy their modem @ N8500. please advice me on which to buy, i believe most of you have tested all these and can determine the one the is preferable . thanks. |

I have been researching lately about online universities that accept Nigerians, but to no avail, the annoying part is that there are alot of them online but Nigeria is just the problem and some that accepts international students are pretty much expenses. Why i want it online is because i prefer online university based on the fact that am working and i'm the one that will sponsor my self throughout the programme and dont think i will have chance for any offline university in Nigeria here. please anybody with valid information or has eny school should help me out . thanks alwaysng@gmail.com 08053188907 |
