So many gamers due to limited resources aren't willing to spend over 90,000 naira on a laptop that plays games like Battlefield, Call of duty ghosts, FIFA 15, Batman Arkham etc but deep down inside, they wanna play these games. With the advent of Amd kaveri, you can play these games from medium to high settings. I bring to you a review on the beast called Amd kaveri APU (Accelerated processing unit)

One quick real-world gaming test was run to see how well the FX-7600P
could handle some more modern titles. Battlefield 4 was run at
1920x1080 at the Low preset and we were JUST shy of reaching the 25
average FPS mark. Other games like Bioshock Infinite were able to run
quite well on their lower presets and you would have no problems playing
titles like Skyrim on the integrated R7 graphics solution.
My initial impressions though
are positive - the experience of using the AMD FX-7600P system was
top notch and other than a couple of software hiccups that are
expected this early in the system development process, all went well. The
interaction was smooth, the x86 performance was solid and right where I
expected it to be.
The GPU performance stood out of course and AMD is surely hoping
that the continued migration of software to an OpenCL friendly design
will help push its advantage even further. PCMark8 is still a bit too
forward-looking to really put all of our weight behind, but the results
are great for AMD. If you want a mainstream notebook that can do
some basic gaming at 1080p without the need for a discrete GPU, then
the Kaveri APU is going to be leaps and bounds ahead of anything Intel
has in the same thermal envelope.

Asus ROG Laptop is the best gaming solution ever, plays all 2015 games at Max settings. The fall in Naira has made this beast quite expensive but we hope everything normalize.

This Asus ROG model is at the top of its class and is
considered the King of the Hill among the brand’s
gaming notebooks, if not in the entire gaming market.

charge of its 8-cell battery when all the other equally
muscled notebooks in its price point have died down.

Connectivity
The ROG G74SX-DH71 boasts of a 1.5TB hard drive that
runs at 7200 rpm. Data connectivity is served with WiFi
02.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and USB 3.0, along with HDMI
connectivity. There’s a 2 megapixel camera, a digital
array microphone, stereo speakers with advanced EAX
5.0 and an 8-in-1 data card reader.

Operating system
It comes bundled with a 64-bit version of Windows Home
Premium, an external mouse and a backpack. It is
covered with a two-year global warranty that includes a
1-year Accidental Damage Protection which comes in
handy to repair or replace the unit should you
accidentally spill water, drop it on the floor, or gets
damage from electrical surges or a fire within the first
year from date of purchase.

Not for everyone
Apart from a rather hefty price tag, gamers who plan to
be on the road most of time will find its monstrous 9.4lb
weight a real burden in a backpack. It’s really not that
portable and simply makes a good desktop replacement
if you need to work away from home with your car or
SUV to carry it and not be lugged around on your back
The audio system may be from B&O which allows for
clear crisp sound, but its placement above the keyboard
make it a bit louder from behind than in front of the
screen. In addition, its touchpad can be a bit quirky and
sensitive like in most other notebooks. As a gamer, you
are better off using an external mouse that goes with it.

Conclusion
The Asus ROG G74SX-DH71 is everything you need to
get the multimedia and gaming thrills that can tax many
similarly powered notebooks in it price point– a real value
for a high end quad core gaming notebook. It’s a
gaming powerhouse bellied by a rather simple aesthetics.
But within its price point, nothing comes close in terms
of delivering a truly engaging gaming experience.
