Your drawback for the console is actually the same drawback for the PC. Unless, you really invested some serious money into your PC, you could run into the obsolete drawback in less than 3 years. You've forgotten that the PS2 lasted almost 13 years, in fact the changes between the previous generation (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii) are not as drastic as the changes in the current gen (PS4, Xbox One, Wii U), especially when compared to the jump from PS2 to PS3 or the PS1 to the PS2. I remember the first glimpse I saw for the PS2, it was on the Official Playstation Magazine & it was a picture of Lara Croft's eye - I was amazed, it felt like a huge step. We went from the polygon and clunky madness that was PS1 to a smoother polygon clunky madness. Then PS3 happened, we could actually see photorealistic people, they looked like us. Cinematics that looked like actual films. With the PS4 & Xbox One, they've got more space to play with, filled it more slightly photorealistic people and a bunch of cinematics that look like grade A Hollywood blockbusters (see the Halo Masterchief Collection, Microsoft thought they were making movies with those scenes). I don't see the PS3 dying too soon yet*.

*Sony stopped making games for the PS1 in March 2006, less than a year before the PS3 was released. The last official game released on PS2 was FIFA 14 in Brazil. If we are going by previous Sony logic, then PS3 should stop being produced at least 12 years after its initial release - November 2018. Although, Sony did announce they'd give it at least 10 years, so it might all come to an end by next year.

You nailed it, I still prefer PC gaming tho, I can't fork out 8-25k just for a game, I have a PS Vita and I regret it cos of the expensive nature of the Cartridge

don't also forget that way many games are console exclusives. It could take time for PC version to be released, that is if it will. Untill this improves or excellent console emulators for PC are developed, console dominates PC in gaming.

the console games give developers excess cash that's why they sometimes make mediocre games for PC, I still enjoy the keyboard and mouse gaming on PC notwithstanding

yeah he's right, the only problem is that some PC have weak gpu and only play games in low settings, High end gaming beasts like Asus republic of gamers, Alienware etc would bring any gaming title to it's knees, when playing Ryse son of Rome on ps4, it would look like child's play when compared to an Alienware side by side

there's a cheap HD solution currently being worked on by AMD, I know in the past they had heat issues etc but they've seriously seriously upgraded. It's called AMD Carrizo a10 APU and the high end ones comes with an AMD r7 graphics which can run even GTA V on medium settings.
