cultural wahala in Nigeria

So you are telling me that, if i feel like eating roasted monkey, i can't buy and eat in my own home

I can't believe some cultures that ought to be disposed still exist in South East

The same cultures that existed in Yoruba land, telling people not to go out in a particular time, telling people not to perform one specific religion/views in a state

We have a lot of issue in Nigeria currently, but cultural diversity and segregation is one of the biggest

Health / Re: My Son Looks Like 7up's Fido Dido, Help!!!! by amadice(m): 10:52pm On Feb 28
blazer2018:
Hi guys, please I really need your help.

I have a twelve years old son who is very lanky, he looks d*mn too malnourished for comfort. He was very robust from birth till around the age of 8, when all of a sudden he started depreciating, initially, we thought it was a normal thing, as he was growing taller too, but now, I can't even bring myself to post his pictures on my status. He looks just like 7up's Fido Dido.

Now, this is a boy who eats whatever he wants, he's well fed, and lacks nothing. But with his looks, you will doubt that he's even fed at all. Although he looks far from being healthy, but he rarely falls sick. He's so skiny that whoever sees him, asks us what's wrong with him. Another thing, he always leaves his mouth opened, something that has now affected his teeth. We tried every tricks in the book to stop this, but to no avail, he can hardly keep his lips shut for more than 30 seconds.

Now, he's is a very hyperactive boy and finds it difficult concentrating atimes, but he's well above average in school.

Kindly help with solutions to this problem, it brings tears to my eyes as we have done everything we can think of to reverse this. Recently, a doctor suggested we place him on egg regimen, he now eats 3 eggs daily, but there seems to be no changes whatsoever.
Recommended medications, specialist or hospital we can take him to, preferably in the South West would be highly appreciated.

He's my only child, please help a desperate father!!!🥺

I really would appreciate it if someone can give us some information on the SIZE of ONITSHA MAIN MARKET.
Often we hear it is the biggest in the Milky Way but there is very little to substantiate this claim. I have always believed this and got into an argument with some Ghana(nians grin) yesterday and was made to look silly. Naturally you would agree it is not good for Ghananians(sic) to make Nigerians look silly. So can any one help us out .
What is the size of ONITSHA MAIN MARKET in Square metres or square feet Also some photographs please. I need to silence Chaaaaly Achampon once and for all!!

There is the retarded way you yoruba thinks, your Inferior complex way of reasoning. if you want to get the size of Onitsha Market find your way down to Onitsha and do the measurement yourself. The second phase of the remaining project is behind this structure, the foundation for it is already on ground. Why did you opt to show us behind the stadium. mtcheeew undecided undecided undecided

As in , that a VC can address his colleagues in this manner is awkward and unprofessional.

Is it that the school is a glorified secondary school where there's no Senate but has only a school Principal talking down on his academic staff? I understand his complaint about lazy academics and he is now forced to act but those complaints should not even be allowed in the first place if the Senate knows and does its job.

This is very uncomfortable and belittled that school. None of the first generation universities VC will address his colleagues in this manner. VC can quote the decision of the university senate and appeal for compliance, not threatening them in his personal capacity and using his office.

This is a glorified Secondary school and it's a sad reality that this school is not the only one. The other day I read of 'universities' with part time VCs! NUC should monitor these glorified Secondary school abeg

Politics / Re: Update on Ongoing Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline Project by amadice(m): 10:30am On Feb 06, 2023
QuotaSystem:

The pipeline is slated to originate from Ajaokuta and pass through Abuja and Kaduna, before ending at a terminal gas station in Kano.

The project will be executed in three phases, with phase one covering the construction of a 200km-long segment between Ajaokuta and Abuja Terminal Gas Station at a cost of $855m.

The AKK natural gas pipeline is intended to boost Nigeria’s electricity generation capacity by adding 3,600MW of power to the national grid and provide electricity in the northern part of the country with supply from the south.

It will also strengthen the industrial sector within the country’s eastern and northern regions.

The project is also expected to promote and increase the local usage of domestic gas and will significantly control gas flaring in Niger Delta.

Additionally, it is anticipated to increase the country’s revenue generation through the export of natural gas.

You have not answered BloomingDale Question, WHERE IS THE GAS COMING FROM, ajaokuta does not have Gas deposit.

The presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress Bola Tinubu mocks Peter Obi yet again during his campaign rally in ondo State.
At the Ondo State Rally, Lagos State Governor Babajid Sanwo-Olu joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, in mocking the Labour Party (LP) flagbearer, Peter Obi.

WITHIN NIGERIA previously reported that APC supporters in Ondo State stormed the MKO Abiola Democracy Park in Akure on Saturday, January 7, 2023, for Tinubu’s campaign rally.

While addressing the crowd, Sanwo-Olu was captured whispering to Tinubu to call Peter Obi ‘Import and export.
Obi, according to the former Lagos Governor, is a warehouse economist who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join LP.

Obi, he claims, does not understand what it means when they talk about the dignity of labour.

Politics / Re: Why Are People Calling Out Peter Obi For The Insecurity In South East? by amadice(m): 12:33pm On Jan 05, 2023
lhordspy:
Hmm.

Nobody is saying it is his fault. But when a leader from an insecurity ridden region refuses to acknowledge and dodge from criticising the main menace running wild in the region. Then something is wrong.

In 2015, the Northeners acknowledge the fact that bok*har*m was the problem even with the religious thing hovering around the air as at the time. Goodluck Jonathan delayed taking any pro-active step, he thought it was a mere political propaganda to destroy his adminsitration. The crisis wasnt tamed at the earlier stage until it was obvious Nigeria was truly at war.
So logically, it is Goodluck Jonathan fault.

Now back to the present administration. The government already identified the root of the problem. Infact i think they were proscribed a terrorist organisation (not really sure though) ... But the present Government are ready to curtail the menace. But when we have people from the region, especially a presidential candidate running away from acknowledging the menace, even at one point in time dismissing it as a mere activities of thugs. Then something is wrong.

Travel / Re: Advice on Relocating Out of Lagos! by amadice(m): 5:14pm On Dec 31, 2022
DonPADRO:
Hi

I want to leave Lagos in the new year. I'm tired of the stress, high cost of everything and chaos.
The problem is I can't really make up my mind on where to go, what city is best for me and my business, my life and needs, therefore i opened this thread to seek advice from people who live or have been to these areas i have in mind to relocate to.

My opinions are...

1. Enugu
2. Uyo *(Akwa Ibom)
3. Calabar (Cross Rivers)
4. Port Harcourt

I'm an Igbo guy from Imo state. I work online so can move anywhere as long as i see good light and fast internet.
And something else... I'm kind of a late bloomer in life. Things no enter for me early so I'm still single at 40. But I earn well now, thanks to God, and so I'm seriously searching for a nice lady to settle down with. A city with lots of marriageable single girls around (even semi-educated one who are generally more humble) is high on my priority list.

The city I have in mind as the best fit is Enugu but due to insecurity in the SE I'm open to other opinions.

Please advice me based on your experience.

Eungu is best for you, Quiet City, Low cost of Living and for you to settle down also it will be fast for you unlike other cities you mentioned.
