@treetop, my kinda man,

Kai all that money could go a long way to a college fund for my future kids na!!

Actually that's a good idea for all u future brides abi?

Work out the cost of all the aso ebi and bridemaid dresses and all that stuff,  per person and open an investment acc and ask your friends/ cousins/ sisters/ neighbours/ colleagues (whoever was going to do the bridal train thing- both maids and groomsmen)  to pay the money or whatthey can affordof it in there as wedding gift.

Now that's a plan.

As for pics shebi they will be at your wedding ?( They have to see where all their money went grin )   they will be in all the wedding pics anyway.

Alls well that ends well,  no strained friendships,  no bridezillas,  everyones happy and your kids get to go to college.

Are people still doing big weddings in these hard economic tmes?

Naija people una dey try o!

Personally I don't do wedding parties. Waaay too much hassle and unnecessary hypertension and stress , enough to age a person by at least 4 years !!

I was in all 4 of my bros weddings and I vowed never again. no more siblings getting married thank the Lord for his mercies.

Brides can be the most difficult and demanding (almost demented) creatures God ever created, and the brides mother, the brides sister all adding theirown 1/2 kobo.

Worst of all  the bridegrooms just go along with everything,  and expect everyne else to agree to the crazy demands as well. Chei!!

Hmmm,  naaa not worth it.

I'm not going to have bridesmaids at my own wedding sef, when the time comes.
I would never want to put my friends through that trauma.

Grilled Salmon with Herb Mustard Glaze

* 2 garlic cloves
* 3/4 teaspoon finely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
* 3/4 teaspoon finely chopped fresh thyme leaves
* 1 tablespoon dry white wine
* 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
* 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
* 2 tablespoons whole-grain mustard
* Nonstick olive oil cooking spray
* 6 (6 to 8-ounce) salmon fillets
* Salt and freshly ground black pepper
* 6 lemon wedges

Directions

In a mini food processor, combine garlic, rosemary, thyme, wine, oil, Dijon mustard, and 1 tablespoon of whole-grain mustard. Grind the mustard sauce until combined, about 30 seconds. Transfer to a small bowl. Add remaining 1 tablespoon of whole-grain mustard to the sauce and stir to combine. Set aside mustard sauce.

Preheat the grill. Line a heavy rimmed baking sheet with foil. Spray the foil with nonstick spray. Arrange the salmon fillets on the baking sheet and sprinkle them with salt and pepper. Grill for 2 minutes. Spoon the mustard sauce over the fillets. Continue grilling until the fillets are just cooked through and golden brown, about 5 minutes longer.

Transfer the fillets to plates and serve with lemon wedges.

Chinese Chicken Wings

2 pounds chicken wings
2 tablespoons Hoi Sin sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/3 cup ketchup
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Rinse chicken wings and pat dry with paper towel. Tuck the wing tips underneath.

In a large bowl, mix together remaining ingredients. Add wings to bowl and stir so wings are covered with sauce. Cover with plastic wrap and store in refrigerator for at least 2 hours (or overnight for extra flavor).

Place chicken wings on greased grill pan and grill on medium heat for about 6-8 minutes on each side. Brush on extra sauce during grilling.

These wings make a tasty appetizer and can be served hot or cold.

@bluespice

Ingredients
• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 11/2 pounds lamb cut into chunks
• 1 large onion, peeled and cut into slices
• 1 teaspoon finely chopped garlic
• 6 medium-sized firm ripe tomatoes, peeled and cut crosswise into slices
• 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh hot chilies
• 2 whole cloves
• 1 teaspoon sugar
• 1 teaspoon salt
• ½ cup all purpose flour
Method
1. Put flour in a bowl and roll lamb chunks in the flour.
2. In a heavy 10 to 12-inch skillet, heat the oil over moderate heat until a light haze forms above it. Add the lamb and brown it a few pieces at a time. Turn the pieces frequently with a slotted spoon and regulate the heat so that they colour richly and evenly without burning. As the lamb browns, transfer the pieces to a plate.

3. Pour off and all but 2 tablespoons of fat from the skillet and drop in the onion slices and the garlic. Stirring frequently and scraping in any brown particles that cling to the bottom of the pan, cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the onions are soft and golden brown. Stir in the tomatoes, chilies, cloves, sugar and salt, then add the lamb and any juices that have accumulated around it.

4. Reduce the heat to the lowest possible point, cover tightly, and cook the Stew for 1 hour, stirring it from time to time to prevent the vegetables and lamb from sticking to the pan. Remove the cover and, stirring and mashing the tomatoes occasionally, simmer for 30 to 40 minutes longer or until the lamb is very tender and most of the liquid in the pan has cooked away. The sauce should be thick enough to hold its shape almost solidly in the spoon.

5. Taste for seasoning. Pick out and discard the cloves and serve the stew at once from a heated platter, accompanied by hot boiled rice and steamed broccoli

Enjoy!!

Christianity Etc › Untimely Deaths? by AmakaOne(op): 2:39pm On Apr 03, 2009
DID YOU
KNOW THESE FACTS?

I
SURE DIDN`T TILL NOW!

Death is certain but the Bible speaks about untimely death!

Make a personal reflection about this,

Very interesting, read until the end,

It is written in the Bible (Galatians 6:7):

'Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sow, that shall he also reap.

Here are some men and women who mocked God:

John Lennon (Singer):

Some years before, during his interview with an American Magazine, he said:
'Christianity will end, it will disappear.

I do not have to argue about that. I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, today we are more famous than Him' (1966).

Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

Tancredo Neves (President of Brazil ):

During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500,000 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency.

Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he died.

Cazuza
(Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):

During A show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro), while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said: 'God, that's for you.'

He died at the age of 32 of LUNG CANCER in a horrible manner.

The man who built the Titanic

After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be.
With an ironic tone he said:
'Not even God can sink it'

The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic

Marilyn Monroe (Actress)

She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her. After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said:
'I don't need your Jesus'. A week later, she was found dead in her apartment

Bon Scott (Singer)

The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC.
On one of his 1979 songs he sang: 'Don't stop me; I'm going down all the way, down the highway to hell'.

On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his own vomit.

Campinas (IN 2005)

In Campinas, Brazil a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend,
The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter holding her hand, who was already seated in the car:
'My Daughter, Go With God And May He Protect You.'

She responded: 'Only If He (God) Travels In The Trunk, Cause Inside Here, It' s Already Full'
Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died, the car could not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact

The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs, none was broken

Christine Hewitt (Jamaican Journalist and entertainer) said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst book ever written. In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle.

Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus.
Many have died, but only Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive.

'Jesus'

Just repeat this prayer and see how God moves!!

'Lord,
I love you and I need you, come into my heart, and
bless me, my family, my home, and my friends, in
Jesus' name. Amen

Romance › Re: Some Men Never Change by AmakaOne(f): 10:54am On Apr 01, 2009
bridget007:
Me and my ex-husband split after he punched me in the back of the head and after much emotional abuse. He was ok but got worse after marriage and changed the minute i got pregnant. He has cheated numerous times, got another girl pregnant when i was pregnant and made her have an abortion. He smokes pot, sneaks around, lies and has numerous phones probably for all his dealing.
Despite all this I do love him and after 4 months apart but talking we have been tryng to reconcile. However he has flipped it now and just keeps saying how selfish I am?? Selfish as he doesn't see his son too often and I don't let him stay with him in his flat. Our son is 15 months old and I don't let him stay because his flat is dangerous very steep staircase and not baby proof in any way, no cot etc for him not to mention his smoking of pot, which I know he smokes again and god knows who he has around.
He is now expecting ME?? to do everything to put things right in our marriage and he refuses to give me any affection until I have made all right?? He has started calling me again, saying its all my fault why he is not with us and his son, and he refuses to see his part in it. He came last night and stayed, I cooked his meal yet he hardly spoke to me, I went to bed and left him watching tv. In the morning I got up to find a bag of 'pot' on the sofa! Were any of the kids could have found it and the baby could have eaten it. I am so furious, he calls me selfish, but I am the one looking after the kids with no help from him , he got payed yesterday and never even offered a penny towards his son.
I was hoping to make it work but I think enough is enough. He always told me no-one would want me with kids now, his way of ensuring i wouldn't have confidence to leave but since we been separated (even though not looking) I have three men who want to date me.
I guess I just need you to tell me to move on, or any other ideas
Kai!!!

I just have one question?

Why did you put up with this madness for so long and even making babies with this kind of man?

Na wah o!

Some of the situations we find ourselves in we create for ourselves sha. JMHO

Is it canned specifically for Naija market?
