Politics / Who Nailed Governor Sylva by Amaladede: 3:29pm On Nov 17, 2011
Governor Sylva is a politician of the new order. His resume is very thin apart from running for governorship in 2007, winning supposedly and then getting booted by the Court of Appeal. He contested again and won the election and promised to form a broadbased government. The broad-based government Sylva succeeded in forming was opportunistic, full of atavistic elements who feed fat on oil contracts, creek kidnappings and plotting to assassinate the president of Nigeria. It's on record that Sylva was caught discussing the killing of Jonathan. It's on record that Sylva shelled out 500 million to try and stop his exclusion from the PDP primaries. It is on record that Sylva has completely harrassed LG Chairmen in Bayelsa into donating LG money to him. It's on record that Sylva has stolen Bayelsa to stupor. It's on record that he uses area boys, creek boys and agberos for state security purposes while he utilises the security vote for private purposes. It's on record that 5 billion vanished from Bayelsa since Sylva took over. The State Accountant General is a hostage of Sylva and the Commissioner for Finance is a nincompoop.

WHO NAILED SYLVA? WHO IS BEHIND IS TRAVAIL?
Quote me, Sylva will fight but he cannot contest the primaries. His cup is full. There are too many issues at stake. There are issues which Jonathan and Sylva are both not telling us. Some of it involve women, concubines etc etc. I cant say more. Majority involve insurbordination to the president. Others involve fraud and illegal deductions from the state account. Who nailed Sylva? You cant look very far to see,

Deco2come, i suppose she might be praying to marry me, i dont know. am just confused. one day i called her she was so angry with me, i asked her where she was, she said she was in church fasting and praying, later i realised that the pastor of that church was praying for me, i asked her what was that pastor praying about, she refused to tell me. I am really scared men!!! She calls me sometimes and just cries, and it's crazy, we havent known for long and all dat stuff. One of the days I asked her what's the problem, she told me that i was the kind of man she has been dreaming for but she cannot have me, and all that shit, it gets very scary.
Romance / Re: I Chop My Friend's Gf by Amaladede: 9:59pm On Nov 15, 2011
Freecocoa, yes am married and she knows. Reason why my friend introduced her to me was that i am married in the first place so he was at least a bit sure of me. He told the girl as well and the girl has seen all my family pics on facebook, so she knew very much about me.
Romance / I Chop My Friend's Gf by Amaladede: 8:55pm On Nov 15, 2011
Please help, I can't get my friend's girlfriend off me. I need to jinx her cos she's been coming onto me whereas am supposed to be looking after her for my friend who's in the UK. Sometime in March this year, my friend arrived from the UK, visited Imo State University his alma mater and met this beautiful girl on campus. He toasted her and both got on well, but he was going back to the UK the next week. My friend called me and introduced me to the girl cos he wanted me to help with her NYSC posting. So we spoke and he dropped my numba for the girl. Even while my friend had a few days left to stay b4 travelling, she called me a numba of times. Then she started calling more frequently afta my friend travelled. Honestly i didnt want to have anything to do with her, but she kept calling and then asked that she wanted to come to abj to see me. I said shits happens. I refused at first but she persisted. She wanted me to take her to nysc to start the posting runs. I accepted. she even got me to talk to her dad and mum and sistas,, telling them this was the guy doin her nysc runs. ok so we kept going. When she visited abj, i happened to hv travelled to kano, so she entered a bus and came to kano where i was lodged. walahi, na geji da rigiman ta. so dat was how it happened. we stayed together, her father kept callin that night and told her not to sleep anywhere except her sista's place in abj, she tried getting her sista to connive with her to tell the dad that they were together. it backfired. the sista didnt agree. the dad is a pastor. they didnt even know she was far away from abj. so we had to concoct a story to convince the dad, not dat we were planning to do anything though. it was just impracticable to tell them the truth at that point that she arrived abj, couldnt see me, travlled to kano to see me. it didnt make sense.

so we had to tell the dad that we were in the nysc directors office somewhere in keffi (i dont even know where the director or whoever lives) so shit happens. he then asked to speak to me. I did. I told him it was too late and the mararaba/nyanya hold up was too much and that it was not possible to get the girl back to kubwa that night. so she is to sleep at my place, that i am married (true) and that my wife was home (he didnt ask to spk to my wife). so dats how it happened and the girl slept there. we didnt plan anything, but like play like play it happened. she was in her period but told me she wanted it badly after i touched her. she couldnt hold herself. so I did it with two condoms, lol. we did it again in the morning, she's even a youth leader in her dads' church though she's very spiritual. she regretted it and is having a hard time getting me off her mind. her posting didnt work as there was too much reshuffling at nysc. yet she has booted the other guy and cant get over me, and yet drives away bachelors. she has been going from one pastor to the other giving my name for prayers. am scared. advise me pls
Literature / The Campus Mafia-the hottest campus love story. by Amaladede: 1:57pm On Mar 16, 2011
“Alright, nobody should move on stage. Stay right where you are or I’ll blast your skull for you.” He was surprised to hear his own voice maintaining such coolness even in his first major operation. Ukaegbu’s gun was pointed squarely on the half-unclothed girls on stage. The show had started an hour ago and this was the climax. He chose the time to strike as he was instructed by Charly to lead the strike. Immediately the lights went off as arranged, he jumped to his feet, aimed his gun at the high windows and shot through the louver glasses.  The deafening sound of the shot and that of the shattering glasses sent the audience berserk. He only hoped that the crack team positioned at the gate would do their job of disarming the gate boys properly if not…. On his part, Otiaka was to control the audience and make sure no one moved until instructed so.

He watched every movement from the corner of his eyes, ready to fire at the slightest provocation. From behind the mask he stared vaguely at the girls on stage. With the torch held with his left hand he illuminated the stage while his right held tight to the pistol. His second finger curled around the trigger. The gun was hot but he held on to it. It represented the power to negotiate, his only way of escape and protection from counter attack. One thing astonished him even as dead silence pervaded the atmosphere. He could not trace Kendy’s whereabout. Moments before the light went off, he was behind the stage, while Miss Princess displayed herself before the crowd. A thorough flickering of his torch at the stage could not give any clue to the cult lord’s position. He had no orders to execute him but he was being vindictive.  Intent on settling a score, Ukaegbu  had planned a tactical elimination once Kendy was trapped in the auditorium.  Confusion reigned in his mind as he contemplated on the next line of action.

“Now listen. All guys should stand up and leave this bloody place.” His order sent the audience moving. Both boys and girls moved towards the door simultaneously in panic but the Deadskull crack team that now occupied the gate had strict instructions to allow only boys to leave.  Sporadic gunshots ruled the air outside. A little distance from the school auditorium, members of Deadskull and Blackbirds slugged it out in a battle for supremacy. It was as if the attack was anticipated by Blackbirds.

Ukaegbu ensured that every boy had left the auditorium. They left in a hurry, in a heavy stampede. His eyes never left Loretta whom it was obvious, Kendy had deserted in the present circumstance. His mind rumbled with ideas on how to send a message home to her boyfriend.

“Now in single file, all girls should march out from here. No shouts, no screams,no giggling or I shoot off your arse. Now start moving.”

His feet  were growing unsteady on the ground as he watched Otiaka unleash his brutal kicks on the girls. Duke was a beast and heartless. He kicked any girl that tried to leave the cue, while moving towards the exit. Various other armed members of Deadskull moved into the auditorium. They all wore masks shaped into the face of an owl. The remaining members of the squad were previously posted  to positions around the auditorium to prevent infiltration and sabotage of the operation. Kendy, the target had escaped but no one knew how. Ukaegbu and Duke Otiaka followed the girls closely, while the last batch made their exit. It was clear any Blackbird boy around had beat retreat in panic. Cult members dreaded being caught in a crossfire during rival cult operations. The rather sane option is to clear from danger zones. Mustering unorganized opposition might prove fatal. This night, though Kendy succeeded in picking a handful of boys to offer resistance, he was ill-prepared and was simply beaten back.

Now outside the auditorium, Ukaegbu barked out an order.

“Move to the car park.” His voice was growing panicky and yet venomous. They all knew he would not hesitate to pump bullets into anybody that appeared to be an enemy. His torch focused on Loretta all the time. She would be his obvious choice once at the car park. The thought of having a taste of his arch-enemy’s girlfriend filled him with glowing excitement.

“Whoosh, the LovePeddler !!! He spat out.

Folks,
I want to thank you all for contributing to this forum. Actually, I've just been recruited by CBN just ysterday and I thought it ok to let everyone of you know about it. I interviewed sometime in January for a Senior Position. For some of you who wrote tests in April or sometime, this position is not part of the general recruitment drive. I was interviewed in January. Goodluck with your tests and hope you are invited for interviews and recruited subsequently. Well, I would be leaving the UK soon after June to resume work in July.
Thanks all for your contributions.

One of the problems we have is that we buy wholesale some of the arguments for financial freedom, retiring before 50, having your own business etc etc etc without looking at fundamental issues such as our gifts, talents, temperaments, dispositions etc. Everyone (especially Nigerians) wants to achieve financial freedom at 45 at all costs without looking at basic fundamentals. Would you rather work and accomplish yourself in a professional area, with a good and stable pension, retire at 65 and then manage your business full time(a business which of course you might have nurtured while working for a company or govt). This "I go make am" mentality in Nigeria is spurning a lot of business which are doomed and comatose right from the beginning because of lack of skill, professionalism, experience and networking neccessary for achieving success. Not everyone is destined for "instant touch" success. Some would take time and build a career working for others (public or private companies). Along the line they cultivate relationships, build networks, build trust, acquire experience and hone their skills. These combine effectively to propel their personal ventures to success.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How Much Does The CBN Pay? by Amaladede: 6:28pm On Apr 28, 2009
An individual with such background would be able to secure jobs at Directors level anywhere in Nigeria. However, Directorship jobs in Nigeria sometimes are very political, but you would need a lot of professional clout, networking, attitude and good interpersonal relationships to close the deal. That's what I reckon.

Bigbois, at least at CBN, you write tests and attend interviews for every position regardless. Before getting promoted as well, you write exams. dats the stuff.

TDBrasco:- thanks for offering to help. I'm not looking 4 help though. I can take care of myself. If I don't get it on merit, then "to hell with the damn stuff". I know how Nigeria is, but who cares about nepotism, tribalism, quota system(federal character principle) and all the stuff they do down there. I'm prepared to cope with the peculiarities of 9ja once i get the job, but am not prepared to "lie flat on the ground" for any "Baba", "Senator", Ooni of Ife or Ezego I of Ihiala, or Emir of Ajangbadi before I get a job. Sounds strange? I got a different vibe.
Thanks

Bigbois,
thanks for your post, well, I'm not here to tout my accomplishments. When you said, 35 is "not so young", logically, inferences could be drawn. Is it as per age? or as per accomplishments? or as per looking for jobs? or as per what?. These are the indices we would normally associate with age. 35 is not very young in a lot of ways (i have to give you credit for that), however, relating to the topic of discussion, it is a very young age. You probably dont know the job am going for so you cant make inferences, lol. On the lighter side, I cant leave Europe and come down to 9ja for an entry level position or a mid-level position (I'm too old for these)---lol. Yet some ppl in 9ja who are 40 are begging for entry level positions (do you see?). At the test centres, I was amazed that men of 40(graduates) were writing some tests, and find out what position (very low level). So you could see at 35 am already too big for those. Make your conclusions,
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How Much Does The CBN Pay? by Amaladede: 12:28pm On Apr 28, 2009
Bigbois, thanks for your comment. If 35 is not young for you, then you're living in Alice's Wonderland. I obtained a PhD at the age of 32 and also worked for a lot of international organisations. Well, most guys in 9ja are still looking for MSc degrees at the age of 40 and are still starting careers at that point. So what's the stress with you? Maybe you are deluded by the spate of discrimination by commercial banks in Nigeria against people over 25 or 30. Come to Europe or America, that nonsense does not apply. You can be 50 and still get a job in a bank. period. Performance is not linked to age. The more you get older, the more your value increases, especially if you are a professional.

Back to the topic. Thanks everyone for offering information about remuneration at the CBN. My guess is that it's a good place to work, although things may go slow as a result of bureaucracy, but it would still be better than most other ministries in 9ja where things go at tortoise and snail speed.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Am A Job Seeker by Amaladede: 7:05pm On Apr 27, 2009
OTHUS, why not read newspapers and also check out the vacancy postings on this site, do you really believe that companies looking for staff will come on this site and beg you to come and work? You need to be educated on the job-seeking process honestly. It would be very idiotic coming here to post public messages askiing companies to look for you and discover you from one village in Isoko. That would be the first sign of ineptitude.
No insults intended, but do your home work.

Career / Re: How Much Does PMP Certification Cost? by Amaladede: 6:57pm On Apr 27, 2009
Arnold23, I do not have contact details for PRINCE2 and PMP certification centres in 9ja because I dont live in naija at the moment, although I'm presuming that i would be living in 9ja in the next few months if all goes welll with the interviews i have attended recently. However, I took my PRINCE2 in London and my PMP as well. If you wanted those contacts I would furnish you with these.

well, good pay is subjective. What about career advancement, flexible working hours, prestige and good working environment? These are the stuff I have much value for. I live overseas but I'm considering moving back to naija to work. I wrote the CBN tests with all other ppl and am looking forward to the results. However, I'm still thinking of the pay before I can agree to attend any interviews assuming I would be selected to attend interviews. I like Nigeria cos the place is relaxed, cosy and warm. Anyone here works for CBN? any salary structure information would be appreciated.

Ppl here, pls understand that some of us have hussled in Europe and America and are looking for places to come back to and settle. We may not be looking for very flashy monied jobs of course, since we have all chased after money abroad, working nightshifts, doing odd jobs and stuff like dat. We might have built our own houses, have cars in nigeria and just want to come back and live a quiet and relaxed life. I'm still very young (35) so life is still ahead of me.

Any advice will be appreciated.
Career / Re: How Much Does PMP Certification Cost? by Amaladede: 3:11pm On Apr 27, 2009
Why not try PRINCE2 rather? Prince2 is more widely accepted in Nigeria than PMP. Well, I do have PMP as well as PRINCE2 but i think Prince2 serves me better.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Cbn Exam! Any Jist? by Amaladede: 3:08pm On Apr 27, 2009
I presume the tests have been marked by FITC and submitted to CBN. They are waiting to assign cut off marks for the different states. Remember the federal character thing? You may get 80% and if you are from Enugu, someone from Zamfara will get 50% and still be called for interview while you wont, because you have a lot of people from your state with 90%. So, they aim to recruit the best from every state. Your best from Enugu, Oyo, or Rivers State may not be enough to get you an interview. Dont anticipate to know the results or be called for an interview before June. It's not possible. The processes are more complex than any mere company such as SHELL, Accenture or others. CBN functions through committees and there are a lot of approval stages to pass through b4 you can get decisions finalized. I hope this helps you.
