Prof. Osinbajo And His Hired Obituarists

After reading through Abimbola Adelakun’s carefully scribbled propaganda titled “now that Osinbajo survived his obituarists”, published in the Punch, one would conclude that the Nigerian media space is a deluge of paid assassins who are responsible for smearing and undermining the reputation of people with incredible antecedents, impeccable character, and intimidating credentials. One is therefore forced to ask, “who’s afraid of the towering popularity of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo?”

We know that paid propagandist like Abimbola Adelakun, would cease to exist the day she stops writing invective articles against a government that is making frantic efforts to put Nigeria on the path of greatness. Since the inception of this government, Auntie Adelakun has never written anything good about this regime. But of course, one is not surprised; her economic survival depends on her ability to twist facts in order score cheap political points and as a way of massaging the brutally deflated ego of those political displaced individuals that benefited from the old order. Although, these individuals, those whose interest Adelakun protects, have been forced to their political cocoons, her constant wailing on the pages of newspaper are a reminder that the profiteers of the old regime still grind their teeth in their closets. Her voice represents the cries and tears of the looters of yesteryears. No matter how much she tries to shield her malicious and wicked intention, Nigerians with critical minds understand her very well.

President Muhammadu Buhari did not make a speck of mistake by appointing an intelligent, amiable, tested and trusted personality like Osinbajo. A country, whose tolerance for corruption was second to none, needed a Buhari and an Osinbajo to untangle the grips of greed, sleaze, pilfering, plundering and other negative vestiges that characterised governance of the past regimes. However, the enemies of this nation, knowing well that one of the reasons this government is succeeding in all fronts, is due to the cordial relationship that exist between Buhari and Osinbajo, are struggling hard to splinter this enviable conviviality. But of course, they will fail because a house built on deceit cannot stand the test of hurricane. The poor, who are the majority; the ordinary Nigerians, who are the greatest beneficiaries of this regime, those who queued in the sun to make sure that Buhari and Osinbajo’s re-election did suffer mishap, will equally queue behind this government, to ensure that the good works they started are perfected.

It is visible to the blind and audible to deaf that there are lots of enemies who are not comfortable and happy with the cordial relationship between the President and his Vice. Many are intimidated by the perfect combination of the two leaders who are striving to re-write the history of this country, as expressed through their genuine deeds and actions. The humane disposition of the duo and their simple lifestyle are proofs that they both see life from same prism. There are evidences that the President and his Vice are closely knitted; what Adelakun and her ilk always struggle to destroy through cheap antics.

How can a right-thinking person write that the Vice President has been “systematically denuded of the power due to his office” without pointing at even a single constitutional power that was snatched from Osinbajo? The article can therefore be best described as a futile effort to discredit one of the most cerebral Nigerians to have occupied the position of Vice President within the context of the country’s embrace of democracy. As much as we know, none of the duties of the Vice President as provided by the constitution has been taken away from him.

What Adelakun described as the obituary of the Vice President was nothing but futile media spectacle orchestrated to crack the enduring relationship between Buhari and the Vice President. As a matter of fact, the so-called obituary started and ended in the media and nothing more. It was a brief jostling between truth and falsehood and as we know, when there is a combat between truth and falsehood, the latter will always crumble and prostrate before the former. Someone should remind her that paid media propaganda has a short lifespan within communication ecology. Like smoke, it vaporises with time. It is even more fleeting when the thrust of the propagandist is rooted in lies, deceits and hoaxes.

Adelakun and her paid-masters have failed because no amount of media weaponisation against the person of Osinbajo can decimate his popularity. His works are always there to speak for him, even when he is no longer on the political field. Good men like Osinbajo have a way of recreating themselves in the minds of people; they don’t die politically. Even when they are no more, the symphonies of their good deeds will be coated eternally on the lips of people. Yes, their good deeds always outlive them.

Nigerians have not forgotten how the economic team of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan plunged the nation into abyss of recession. Recall that the then economic team was led by Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, an expert in finance and economics. During this inglorious era, there were series of rhetoric on diversification and revitalization which ended up an illusion. Instead, what the nation witnessed were some voodoo growth figures that did window dressing but in reality left us perpetually attached to the apron of the zero-sum and precarious oil economy. Although not an economist or expert in finance, Osinbajo’s perfect blend of intelligence, perspicacity and sincerity has ridiculed economists and financial experts; he succeeded where some economists and financial experts had woefully failed. Let me now ask, can such enigma die politically and so easily?

Now that the country is out of recession, is anything wrong if the government changes strategy by constituting Economic Advisory Council, while Osinbajo concentrates on the constitutional duties of a Vice President? Does that amount to denudation of the Vice President’s powers? I wonder why some Nigerians find it difficult to use their heads to think.

In the history of democracy in Nigeria, Osinbajo is a cypress among pliant shrubs; he stands out among his contemporaries. It is not just because he is a pastor of one of the largest and most influential religious assemblies in the world as Adelakun and other rabid critics of the Vice President would always want us to believe. Standing tall, distinguished, and venerated in the murky water of Nigerian politics, requires a tested and trust character, and these virtues have placed Osinbajo above the amoral atmosphere that the polity epitomises.

Yes, Osinbajo is pastor and a professor of law, but his resourcefulness and reliability in helping to steer the ship of nation building under the leadership of President Buhari in times of peace and in times of turbulence are what endear him to Nigerians. Pastors and professors world over are not respected merely for their ascribed appellations or titles; they are largely respected for their character.

Osinbajo will always survive his obituarists because they oftenride on the wings of manipulation, misinformation and disinformation to trade their wares, using vapid vituperators like Adelakun as conduit. Thus, while the hired obituarists continue tobeat their drum of resentment, bile and hatred, Vice President Osinbajo will continue to provide solid support to the President. The greatness of this country is non-negotiable.

PoliticsNNPC Begins Full Rehabilitation Of All Refineries January - Mele Kyari by AmarachiKK(op): 4:03pm On Sep 22, 2019
The nation’s refineries, located in Port Harcourt, Warri and Kaduna, will roar to live to refine crude oil at optimum capacity come 2022, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), has assured.

NNPC Group Managing Director, Mallam Mele Kyari, who disclosed this Saturday during a facilities tour of the Port-Harcourt Refining and Petrochemical Company (PHRC), stated that full rehabilitation of the plants would commence January, 2020.

A release by the corporation’s Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs, Mr. Ndu Ughamadu, said the NNPC helmsman’s visit to the refinery was part of his strong determination and commitment to ensure that the nation’s refineries deliver real time value and address the petroleum needs of Nigerians.

Mallam Kyari said making the refineries to operate at optimal capacities was a mandate that NNPC as a corporation would leave no stone unturned to actualize, saying a timely delivery of the asset was a priority.

“We will stick to time, we will deliver this project by 2022. We will commence actual rehabilitation work in January. We will do everything possible between October and December to close out all necessary conditions for us to deliver on that project. I believe that with the support that we have from the shareholders - government of this country, the entire staff of this company and the contractors, I believe it is doable and we will deliver the project”, the GMD said.

He tasked the contractors on the need to consider their reputation as most critical element in business processes and engagements.

“It’s no longer about business now, but a reputational issue. For the original builders of the refinery, Tecmmont, Eni/NAOC and NNPC, let us be conscious of the fact that our reputation is at stake as far as this project is concerned. The NNPC leadership has promised this country that our refineries will work, therefore, we must work not to disappoint over 200million Nigerian stakeholders”.

The NNPC boss challenged the PHRC management to ensure that the nation’s indigenous engineers and other professionals working in the refinery are fully engaged to participate actively during the rehabilitation exercise and own the process.

According to the GMD, the involvement of the indigenous workers will build capacity, save cost and introduce an era of steady and uninterrupted production curve that will grow the oil and Gas Industry.

In his presentation on the progress and milestones on Phase 1 of the projects, the Tecmmont Project Manager, Mr. La Mattina Carmelo, informed that the Inspection aspect of the project has progressed to 91% and Final Report and EPC Proposal stood at 75%, adding that his company would deliver the first phase of the rehabilitation within three weeks from now.

He assured that there were no challenges as the project was progressing efficiently, pledging to offer its best services to ensure a timely delivery.

In the same vein, the project consulting company, Eni/NAOC, represented by the its project manager, Daniele Tamburini, confirmed that the work done so far by the NNPC and Tecmmont complied with global standard.

Tamburini said his company was ready to receive the full report of the scoping for final assessment and support the corporation to deliver the project in record time, saying that the initiative was a good business for Nigeria.

Earlier in his address, the Managing Director of the PHRC, Mr. Abba Bukar, expressed appreciation to the GMD for his deep commitment in ensuring that the refinery works for the benefit of Nigerians.
Politics3 Reasons Why Atiku Stood No Chance @ D Presidential Election Petition Tribunal by AmarachiKK(op): 9:41pm On Sep 11, 2019
By Akinloye James

3 reasons why Atiku stood no chance at the presidential election petiton tribunal

1. His petition was filled with so many contradictions, that for every claim he made, he made another claim that contradicted the other. Take for instance: In his petition Atiku said that the card readers used during the election transmitted results that showed he got over 16 million votes. By this Atiku relied on the optimum working of card readers across the country to establish his claim - yet the same Atiku in the same petition says the same card readers were barely used in 11 Northern States.

2. He based his petition on a non-existent server. Atiku claimed that INEC had a server where votes were allegedly transmitted through card readers. This is the most ridiculous claim yet. Why? One, the electoral laws do not provide for electoral transmission of results. Two, because there is no such provision, there was no such transmission by any means. The only means by which results were collated and tabulated were through paper forms at polling units. Atiku then claims that Card Readers were used to transmit votes tabulated. This is foolish. Because nobody votes on card readers. For votes to be transmitted via any device, you would have to have voted the party of your choice on that device. Nobody voted on card readers. The card readers were used before voting to accredit voters. Thus the card readers can only tell you the number of voters and those who voted, but not who they voted for. Atiku thinks everyone is as foolish as he is.

3. Atiku believes President Buhari does not have the required certificate to qualify to run for President. Now that is really dumb. How did a man rise to become a General in the Nigerian Army if he did not have a certificate. It simply does not make sense. Yet President Buhari has provided from the records of WAEC and CAMBRIDGE the transcripts of his Senior School Leaving Certificate: That is the West African School Certificate. This is the minimum requirement expected by law. His classmates have also come forward to affirm that he indeed was their classmate and that they sat for these exams together. Recall that President Buhari has maintained that his certificates got missing during a raid by some Army Officers on his residence during the 1985 coup against him.

1. EFCC is investigating Adoke for the Halliburton money laundering scandal.

2. Adoke is also being investigated by the EFCC for the OPL Malabu scandal.

3. While he was AGF representing the government, he perpetuated many fraudulent activities

4. Adoke was also the lawyer representing Pfeizer, a firm that brought untested vaccines into Nigeria that killed hundreds of children in Kano

5. A firm which the VP worked for represented represented the Kano state govt and the federal government. The only money paid to the VP was for services rendered which was NOT from the money that was paid as settlement to the families of the victims.

So I say again DISREGARD Adoke. It is obvious his stories are dead if he doesn't mention Osinbajo.
Wow! former Attorney General involved in several scam.
The evil he has done is what is after him not Osinbajo

PoliticsDonald Trump Hails Buhari On Corruption And Terrorism by AmarachiKK(op): 7:39am On May 01, 2018
United States President Donald Trump has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for fighting corruption and terrorism in Nigeria.

The US President said this on Monday when both leaders were addressing a press conference after their meeting in the White House.

“Nigeria has a reputation for very massive corruption. I also know that the President (Buhari) has been able to cut that down very substantially. We talked about that, he is working on it and they have made a lot of progress and I think they will continue to make a lot of progress,” Trump said.

He also recognised Nigeria’s effort in its fight against terrorism and promised to support the country in that regard.

“Nigeria is one of the first African nation to join the coalition to defeat ISIS and Nigerian forces are currently leading regional efforts to defeat ISIS in West Africa and doing very well as we have. Nigeria is also leading Africa in the fight against Boko Haram,” he said.

What is happening in middle belts states of Benue, Taraba, Nassaraw, Plateau etc is nothing but "a State Sponsored Genocide on Locals by Buhari's Govt"!
Points To Ponder.
At first, they said Anti Open Grazing Law was the cause of bloodshed. But there's no anti open grazing law in Plateau, Nassarawa, Oyo, Delta, nor Zamfara, yet scores and thousands of people were slaughtered by fulani herdsmen. When their ridiculous excuse didn't fly, they said the attacks by fulani herdsmen was caused by blockage of Ancient Outdated Stone Age Grazing Route. Are cows more valuable than humans? When their silly excuse didn't fly, they said it was a case of "Communal Clash" between famers and terrorist herders. But the same attacks in Zamfara state was NOT A COMMUNAL CLASH according to buhari's govt, just a case of Bandits (that warrant deployment of soldiers).
When communal clash excuse failed woefully, they said it was Militia armed by Benue and Taraba state govt to destabilize their states. When the excuse refused to fly, they came up with Climatic Conditions" as the cause of massacre of locals, but vehemently refused Ranging (a better for of animal husbandry in all climatic conditions) as practiced in civilized countries.
Again when their pathetic excuse failed to lift the ground, they came with a theory that Herdsmen from Libya are behind the attacks with arms shipment from Gaddafi. Interestingly, Areas ravaged by so called herdsmen from Libya are presently being occupied and taken forcefully by Fulani people, locals God given lands!
Notice the how the terrorist govt came up with series of different excuses to protect and shield terrorist herders to continue the genocide? It doesn't take a genius to know who is behind the genocide in middle belt.
All victims of herdsmen massacre must organize themselves and drag Buhari to ICC to answer for his crimes in the Hague when he leaves office in 2019.
This crises did not start today, part of the reasons you gave were there before this government was elected. The Fulani people are also being killed. The killings is on both side. It is better to find lasting solutions than trading blames.tHe senator is also part of the government.

PoliticsHow Vp's Spokesman Became A Target As Corruption Fights Back by AmarachiKK(op): 7:37am On Apr 15, 2018
Mr. Laolu Akande is the latest target in the seeming determined fight back of the defenders of our national commonwealth.

He is no slouch in media matters, being an accomplished reporter and leading journalist who became a national editor way back in 1997 before his 30th birthday. His last reportorial assignment was at the US where he represented The Guardian newspaper including reporting from the White House and the UN. Since he left the paper is yet to fill the vacuum he filled for very many years before returning to Nigeria in 2015. Laolu Akande’s journalism credential is sterling and he has brought this to bear in the way he relates with reporters and media practitioners on his present job.

If one newspaper reporter chooses to isolate himself when most media practitioners have always commended his way of handling thorny media issues, then it’s unfortunate and shows something else including bad belle is at play here.
The art of information management requires that synergy exists between reporters/media and the government. It does not necessarily imply that a frosty relationship must exist between the media and government. The basic knowledge we acquire in mass communication class is the need to communicate so that the society will continue to develop and not to use the power of the pen to destroy. This does not obviate the watchdog role of the media.

To the best of my knowledge, Laolu Akande has in the course of his duties passed the integrity test and indeed surpassed the expectations of many Nigerians in his job performance. In discharging his assigned duties he has always been calm and collected. His human relations has remained a source of pride to many of his colleagues in the journalism profession.
A close contact with Mr. Laolu Akande will prove to any discerning mind that his humility is disarming and sense of judgement inspiring. For many people Laolu Akande has utilised any available opportunity to mix well with his colleagues and he does not have a record of begrudging people, even his adversaries.

In the estimation of many Nigerians Mr. Akande’s decision to leave America and return to serve in the present administration is a mark of patriotism and it is only deserving that we avail him of our support as he continues to serve the nation in his present capacity.

Nigeria is at a stage when all hands must be on deck to support the Buhari administration in its efforts to reposition the country, and this can only be realised with the cooperation of all Nigerians including the media. It does not augur well for practitioners in a strategic sector like the media to be pulling apart when they can work together for the interest of the ordinary Nigerian.

As a proof of the impression most Nigerians have about the Vice President's spokesman Mr Laolu Akande, here are some of the reactions on social media:

'' I am interested in knowing Laolu Akande, the man; quietly being an indispensable figure at the villa, for good reasons'' - Alexander Nochie Onukwe (@nochieonukwe).

'' When you are good, you are good! Laolu Akande, Welldone Sir....'' - Siraj (@sirajabdsamiu).

''I can't but admire the candour with which Laolu Akande is reporting the activities of the Acting President" Son of David (@osy_suave).

The above randomly selected quotes aptly speak for themselves about the person of Laolu Akande and his job rating. I rest my case.

PoliticsTransparency International ‘’fake Rating’’ On The PMB Administration by AmarachiKK(op): 10:49am On Mar 01, 2018
It is indeed strange and absurd that Transparency International has chosen a time like this to release what many Nigerians consider a ‘’fake rating’’ on corruption in Nigeria. For an administration that hinged its philosophy of governance on key areas of fight against corruption, revival of the nation’s economy and security, it is mind-boggling that a foreign agency without adequate presence in Nigeria will concoct some negative figures and ascribe them to the ranking of Nigeria in the corruption index.

Firstly, if we are to go by the huge amounts of money already recovered from past government officials and their collaborators we can conveniently reach the conclusion that the Buhari/ Osinbajo administration has delivered in this area.

Secondly, under this administration the consciousness has been created corruption is not and cannot be a way of life, and Nigerians are gradually coming to terms with the reality. Before the emergence of this administration it was free for all and the country was on a rudderless slip to the precipice on account of prevalence of corruption in official circles. I believe that if the momentum which the administration has already created in the fight against corruption is sustained, then the country will be the ultimate beneficiary.

The Buhari/Osinbajo administration had taken some deliberate measure to curb corruption in the country. For example the use of treasury single account in the collection of federal government revenue has greatly helped to plug the loopholes which enabled people with corrupt tendencies to short-change the country. Similarly the introduction of the bank verification number has also reduced fraudulent activities in our financial institutions to the barest minimum.

President Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo have also shown leadership by example by ensuring that the institutions of the state are allowed to function according to established rules and regulations. This has eliminated any undue influence on the officials of government.

Therefore, it came to many Nigerians and friends alike as a shocker the unfounded and unverified report by the Transparency International that Nigeria’s ranking in corruption was rising rather than decreasing. This report runs contrary to common sense and rational thinking considering the commitment of the Buhari administration to eliminate it from our body-politic.

One is at a loss at the indices used in arriving at the conclusion, since it is common knowledge that this is one area the global community has severally applauded the administration. Just recently the African Union officially recognised President Muhammadu Buhari as the champion of fight against corruption in the continent and for Transparency International to deliver what many people consider a questionable verdict seems like living in denial.

Lest we forget before President Buhari assumed office corruption was the order of the day as the previous PDP administrations failed to address it as a national malaise, and the negative effects are today showing in the level of poverty and infrastructural decay the country is contending with. Gladly President Muhammadu Buhari is focussed on addressing it once and for all times for the good of all Nigerians.
