GENEVA (AFP) – The Ebola outbreak that has claimed more than 1,000 lives in west Africa is moving faster than aid organisations can handle, the medical charity MSF said Friday. The warning came a day after the World Health Organization said the scale of the epidemic had been vastly underestimated and that "extraordinary measures" were needed to contain the killer disease. The UN health agency said the death toll from the worst outbreak of the disease in four decades had now climbed to 1,069 in the four afflicted countries, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone. |

The global high recognition/ commendation accorded the scheme now arising from its laudable achievements, impact and transparent mode of operation, has led to overwhelming passion, interest and consequent willingness of many African countries to come and study the scheme in Nigeria with the sole purpose of adopting and integrating it into their respective input distribution/subsidy programmes. As of today, three countries in Africa namely Tanzania, Malawi and Uganda have come to study the GES scheme. The team from Uganda consisted of eleven senior officials led by the Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture, Uganda.
