South Africa ' s first black leader and global
icon will be buried in Qunu, the small hamlet
where he grew up.
The body of Nelson Mandela has arrived at
his ancestral home village of Qunu in
South Africa ' s Eastern Cape ahead of the
anti - apartheid icon' s state funeral that will
take place on Sunday.
The coffin carrying the remains of South
Africa ' s first black president was driven in
a hearse from Mthatha airport , 700
km ( 450 miles) south of Johannesburg after
it arrived in a military plane. It was given
a ceremonial military escort and cheered by
crowds lining parts of the road as it made
its way to the village where he grew up.
Mandela , whose coffin was draped with the
national flag , will be laid to rest in a private
affair barred to the public and the media .
The journey to the small village started on
Saturday shortly after the governing ANC
paid its last respects to the man who led it
to power, becoming the country ' s first black
president after a long and painful struggle
against racist, white - minority rule.
Al Jazeera ' s Haru Mutasa , reporting from
East Cape , said many people in the
province viewed Mandela, who rose from a
humble background to lead Africa ' s most
powerful nation , as a " source of
inspiration " and were eagerly awaiting the
arrival of his coffin.
In a keynote address delivered in Pretoria
in honour of Mandela, President Jacob
Zuma hailed Madiba , the clan name by
which the Nobel laureate was known , as a
" man of action " .
" Since the day our leader passed on , we
have remembered him in a very special
way . We have received messages of
condolences from around the world , " Zuma
said .
He said Mandela , who joined the ANC in his
early 20 s , was able to " combine theory and
practice " , making it easy for him to
practise what he preached .
Earlier , Mandela ' s grandson , Mandla , gave a
speech about the former president' s long
struggle for freedom .
Mandela , who was battling a chronic lung
infection for months , died last Thursday at
the age of 95 .
On Sunday, some 5 , 000 people, including
foreign dignitaries, are expected to
participate in a formal, two - hour ceremony
beginning at 8 am ( 0600 GMT ) .
The funeral procession from the airport to
Qunu will be led by the armed forces and
Mandela will receive a 21- gun salute and a
flyover by the South African Air Force .
Saying goodbye
Since his death at his Johannesburg home on
December 5 , South Africans have turned out
in pouring rain and blistering sunshine to
say goodbye to the man they viewed as a
liberator .
Tens of thousands packed a soaked stadium
in Soweto for a memorial service on
Tuesday , which was attended by more than
70 world leaders.
Up to 100 , 000 people filed past Mandela ' s
open- casket for the three days it was
displayed at the Union Buildings in Pretoria ,
the seat of government where he was
inaugurated two decades earlier.
Mandela was jailed for 27 years on Robben
Island by the white- minority racist regime
which he opposed , emerging from prison in
1990 and becoming president after the
country ' s first multi - racial elections in
1994 .
A year before he was elected president, he
won the Nobel Peace Prize along with FW
de Clerk , South Africa ' s last apartheid - era
president who helped negotiate the end of
racial segregation with Mandela .
Around 3 , 000 members of the media have
already descended on Qunu where a special
stage and marquee have been erected for the
invited guests , who include Britain' s Prince
Charles .
The funeral will be held according to
traditional Xhosa rites overseen by male
members of Mandela ' s clan .
The slaughtering of an animal - a ritual
performed through various milestones of a
person ' s life - will form a crucial part of the
event .
During the ceremony, Mandela will be
referred to as Dalibhunga, the name given to
him at the age of 16 as he entered
adulthood .
Although Mandela never publicly declared his
religious denomination , his family comes
from a Methodist background .

Plans to discipline Drogba and Eboue
are certain to attract criticism and
fuel debate in Turkey, where the TFF
are trying to keep political imagery
out of football as directed by FIFA,
although it has proved increasingly
difficult in a football-crazy nation
beset by political tension.
Players from Fethiyespor were
recently charged by the disciplinary
committee for wearing t-shirts
reading: 'Great Ataturk' in homage of
the founder of modern Turkey.
The TFF claimed the gesture had
brought politics into football but the
decision was criticised by sports
minister Suat Kilic, who warned
against 'divisive decisions'.
Others have remarked on the fact
that players who celebrate goals with
the Rabia sign, the four-fingered
salute which has become the symbol
of the Muslim brotherhood, born out
of resistance to the military coup in
Egypt.
Emre Belozoglu, the former
Newcastle midfielder now playing for
Fenerbahce, is among those who
have celebrated goals this season
with a Rabia sign.

The daughter of the Kogi State
University lecturer, Muhammad
Nazeef, paraded by the Department
of State Security Service as a Boko
Haram suspect on Thursday, has
claimed that her father is not a
terrorist.
Summayya Muhammad, Mr. Nazeef’s
daughter, in a statement sent to the
media, described the state security’s
(SSS) allegation against her father as
“untrue and full of mischief”.
She said the allegation was planned
to tarnish her father’s image and
that of the family.
“The family categorically writes and
states that the parading of Dr.
Muhammad Nazeef Yunus, on the
allegation as claimed by the SSS,
was falsehood and a calculated
attempt to damage his good
reputation and image as a peaceful
Islamic cleric.” Ms. Muhammad said
Mr. Nazeef, a lecturer in the
Department of Arabic and Islamic
studies at Kogi State University was
paraded alongside for others by the
SSS on Thursday in Abuja.
While Mr. Nazeef, in tears, denied
any link with the dreaded sect, the
other four accused him of having
connection with Boko Haram
members. They described him as
their leader , saying they had been
trained in the sect’s camp in
Sambisa, Maiduguri.
During the parade of the suspects,
Mr. Nazeef said he believed he was
being set up by the Boko Haram
following his consistent preaching
against the sect’s activities.
Ms. Muhammad also said that her
father has always condemned the
Boko Haram sect’s activities and
that tapes of his messages are a
proof to that.
“Dr. Nazeef is a strong condemner
of the Boko Haram sect. His
available records of his preaching
have proven that he is not a
member of the sect. Dr. Nazeef, as
known by all other persons for his
peace, has never been an advocate
of the sect; as such the family
strongly condemned in totality his
parading by the SSS, even as he
repeatedly denied having knowledge
of his allegation.” She said
Ms. Muhammad also faulted the SSS’
claim that Mr. Nazeef was arrested
at a mosque in Zuba, Abuja. She
said her father was arrested by
security agents at his Anguwan
Rogo residence in Jos on October
29 along with one of the suspects,
Umar Musa, and then transferred
Abuja.
“The SSS after 21 days of the arrest
shamelessly, through its spokesperson
Ms. Marilyn Ogar, said they arrested
him just three days ago, in a white
mosque in Abuja.” She said
She also noted that the family has
filed a legal action against the SSS
at an Abuja High court. She said the
judge handling the case, Valentine
Ashi had ordered that the SSS
present Mr. Nazeef in person before
the court on Tuesday.
“The court, presided over by Justice
Valentine B. Ashi, has ordered for
his presentation before it by the SSS,
next Tuesday, they hurriedly and
mischievously paraded him and
labelled the Boko Haram.” she said
Also, a political organization in Kogi
State, Jibrin Isah Campaign
Organisation, has debunked media
reports linking its school, Isah
Memorial College Ajiolo, owned by
Jibrin Isah, to the alleged Boko
Haram suspect.
Mr. Isah had challenged the current
Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada,
for the Peoples’ Democratic Party
gubernatorial ticket. He is still
challenging the governor’s eventual
emergence in court.
They campaign organisation accused
the media of blackmailing the Kogi
State judiciary.
“The other day, they compelled the
President of a Customary Court of
Appeal to swear in a governor,
while there was a subsisting Chief
Judge in Kogi state. On a different
day, they went to enroll our PDP
national chairman, a man of
integrity and honour as well as
members of the NWC of our great
party to do their bidding in their
satanic and illegal project but they
were turned down. Today, we are
now being linked with the dreaded
Boko Haram sect,” the organisation stated.

The family of a Nigerian Islamic
studies lecturer accused of being
a Boko Haram leader has told the
BBC that his arrest was a "set
up".
They said it was outrageous to
suggest he belonged to the militants
behind the insurgency in northern
Nigeria.
Muhammad Nazeef Yunus was
paraded before journalists this week,
accused of recruiting militants in the
central Kogi state where he lectures.
"In his research thesis, he
condemned Boko Haram," his
brother told the BBC.
The Boko Haram leaders preach
against Western education
Boko Haram's insurgency, which
began in earnest in 2010, has
centred in the largely Muslim north-
east of Nigeria, where three states
have been under emergency rule
since May as the security forces try
to crush the militants.
The group, which is opposed to
Western education, wants to impose
strict Islamic law in northern
Nigeria.
Several thousand people have been
killed in the past three years.
'Critical of authorities'
Mr Nazeef, who is an assistant
lecturer in Arabic and Islamic
Studies at Kogi State University,
was paraded along with four other
suspects accused by the secret police
of plotting to launch attacks in
Igalaland, Kogi state.
The BBC's Ishaq Khalid in Jos, the
capital of Plateau state where the
lecturer and his family live, says Mr
Nazeef was arrested on 29 October,
a few days after publicly criticising
the Nigerian authorities.
In a sermon at a mosque in Jos he
had said the way heads of security
agencies were appointed was a
concern, suggesting they were biased
against Muslims, our reporter says.
"Certainly, this is a set up," the
lecturer's wife, Sa'adatu Shu'aibu,
told the BBC Hausa Service about
the arrest.
"[Everybody] knows that Nazeef
Yunus is not a member of Boko
Haram. People are witnesses to his
preaching and I also listen to
recordings of the preaching and I
never heard him preach violence,"
she said.
His brother, Hadi Yunus, agreed that
Mr Nazeef, who is also the director
of a secondary school in Jos which
follows an Islamic and Western
curriculum, often lectured against
the ideologies of Boko Haram.
One of the suspects arrested along
with Mr Nazeef said he was
recruited in May after he lost his job
and was paid ($315, £195) a month
by the group.
Along with the other young men
paraded before journalists in the
capital, Abuja, he alleged that he had
been indoctrinated by Mr Nazeef,
the alleged leader of the cell in Kogi
state.
"I was shocked when the other
suspects insisted that I was a
member and the one that recruited
them into the sect. I have never
been a member of Boko Haram for
one minute in my life, I even
preach against them," he said.
Boko Haram, which along with its
offshoot Ansaru, was last week
blacklisted as a terrorist organisation
by the US.
On Wednesday, MPs in Nigeria's
lower house of parliament
unanimously backed extending the
state of emergency in the north-east
for a further six months following a
closed-door briefing by security
chiefs.
The upper house had already given
its consent after President Goodluck
Jonathan's extension request earlier
this month.

What is needed:

problems with reading back or flashing the
device, newer flashtool is needed.
Install the needed drivers. installing VCOM
drivers might take a while, because it will
show up just a few seconds while connecting
the phone(off).
and now the Step-by-Step tutorial to backup
your boot.img, recovery.img and system.img
for rooting.
HIDE
1. enable USB-debugging under Settings-
Development->USB debugging
2. phone should now get recognized as
"Android Phone - Android Composite ADB
Interface" -> if this is a Unknown Device, you
should install the ADB drivers.
3.Open MTK Droid Tools
4. Connect device to USB (USB Debugging has
to be enabled)
5. Device informations has been loaded, Press
on "Blocks Map"
We'll need to find the lines bootimg , recovery
and Android. We'll need to write down Start-
adress(Scatter) and the Size for every line.
(i made a screenshot, writing down isn't
necessary.)
In MY Case, this is:
bootimg: 00F88000 size: 00600000
recovery: 01588000 size: 00600000
Android: 026E8000 size: 31900000
6. Now we'll need to click on "Create Scatter
File" and you can save it as "MT6577_
Android_scatter_emmc.txt "
7. You can Close MTK Droid Tools now.
8. Now we need to open SP Flash Tool and we
need to load the scatter file.
9. Now we'll need to click on "Read Back " in
the top of SP Flash Tool.
Click on "ADD" 3 Times, we will create "ROM_
0", "ROM_1" and "ROM_2" .
10. Doubleclick on "ROM_0" , and select a
place to save it, e.g. C:/N9770_backup/ and
rename it to"boot.img"
11. now it will ask you for the Start Adress
and lengh for bootimg, we wrote down earlier.
this is in my case: Start Address:
0x 00F88000; Lenght: 0x 00600000. the first
" 0x " MUST remain at its place!
12. the same thing you'll need to do for
"recovery" and "android".
13. disconnect, shut down and remove the
battery of your Device.
13. Now we'll need to click on "Read Back",
insert your battery and connect your device to
USB. (VCOM driver is needed now, you'll need
to install it before getting to the next steps)
14. if this were correct, a red bar should
appear on the bottom of SP Flash Tool. you'll
need to wait until the green ring appears.
15.Flash Tool now read back the 3 files.
system.img isn't that important, but boot.img
and recovery.img should be around 6 MB . if
the file is smaller or bigger, the length is
different to my device or there was a failure
while reading back your firmware. So make
sure, that at least recovery or boot.img has
the right size!!
16. Back to droid tools. reconnect your device
to USB , debugging should be enabled, too.
switch to "root, backup, recovery " tab in MTK
Droid Tools.
select "to choose the boot.img " and press on
"Recovery and boot". select your backup
boot.img and recovery,img. MTK droid tools
will patch boot.img, so you obtain permanent
shellroot.
(optional) a window will pop-up and ask you,
if you want to install CWM-r. i cannot tell you
if that will work, but you can try it, since you
backed up your recovery before. )
(optional) a window will pop-up and ask you
for the name of your device(you connected it
before starting droidtools, so this should not
ask you for the name). you can just press
enter or you can enter a name for your device.
17. Droid Tools should have modified the
boot.img. "--a task is complete-- " text should
show up in the right of droidtools.
18. Back to Flashtool
You'll need to load the Scatter (like in Step
select boot.img and recovery.img. make sure
you select the modified files. (.../Droidtools/
recovery/boot.img and recovery.img)
only boot and recovery should be selected!!
19.disconnect, shout down and remove the
battery of your device. press on "Download" , a
window will show up that you have not
selected all images. you can press on "OK".
20. insert the battery and connect your device
to USB. Flash process should start and if it
worked, green ring will appear.
21. Back to DroidTools. device needs to be
connected and debugging enabled. switch to
"root, backup, recovery" again and press on
" SuperUser". this will push superuser, SU
binary and busybox to your device.
22. Your Device is rooted now. you can make
a Full backup with Droid Tools now.
