"Demon magicians" on you tube seems to prove that demons do exist. It is demons that do these things. They don't need human parts or anything to do them.They request these dastardly acts (like eating shit, etc) as a means of putting confusion and grotesque, sinful things into the world.
I read a Sakawa boy who said he mysteriously started seeing millions in his bank account after performing acts he was told to perform. But then he was very unhappy because they kept asking for more unbelievably grotesque acts.

I don't agree with you. Owning few shops in Alaba and Onitsha is not why we should be happy as Igbos. We want to be treated equally as every other citizen of this country.
The government must show commitment to development of the south eastern states and also ensure the security of lives and property of its citizens. You can't keep mute when Fulani are killing people,destroying farms all over the country and expect us to be happy with Nigerian arrangement. It won't work.

I hate this country with passion.as soon as I see visa,I am leaving the shore of this country only to make Nigeria my second home. I prefer to be a Ghanian than a Nigerian. This is cursed country with so much blood is her hands.

First of all Ndigbo don't own just a few shops. Igbos DOMINATE the Nigerian retail economy.
Secondly there are such problems in every country including a possible Biafra. The answer to that problem is not secession. As long as we are in democracy, sooner or later a leader will be elected who will be over-sympathetic to Ndigbo, maybe because Igbos gave him the margin for victory.

As a responsible member of society, it is incumbent on me to lend my view, and perhaps help bring to the fore the staggering level of poverty in the country.
Its features and functions, and most importantly its impact on socio-economic and political life.

It is not an easy task attempting to define poverty. It is my opinion that poverty like an elephant is more easily recognised than defined. This is so because poverty is probably is not a subject to be defined or measured. Laying credence to the above, Professor Aboyade queried that "why search for elusive definitions when we all know, or think we know in our minds what we are all talking about? " After examining various definitions of poverty, he concluded that poverty can only be appreciated when one personally suffers it.

However, I will highlight some definitions given by scholars.
McConnel views "poverty as when the basic needs of a family exceed its available means of satisfying them"
Dressler and Wills agreed that poverty can be defined in two different ways: 1. Absolute poverty, which is a situation in which an individual or household is unable to provide the basic necessities of life and (2). Relative Poverty, which is a situation in which an individual or household is unable to maintain the standard of living considered normal in the society".

From the foregoing, it can be deduced that poverty is synonymous with limitation, deprivation, lack, want, anxiety etc.
Further to the above, Obafemi Awolowo described a poor man as one who suffers from malnutrition living in physically and psychologically degrading conditions. He is inefficient; his productivity is hopelessly low, he is technically ignorant; he succumbs readily to disease; he has little zest for life; he has little or no enthusiasm for what he does and in consequence of all these, his poverty persists on an increasing scale.

Unfortunately, the above is the sad reality for most Nigerians who wake to the greetings of each new day with battered dreams, dashed hopes, and struggles rewarded with stone rather than bread.
The worrying issue about the situation in the country is that many Nigerians are poor at one time or another during their lives but many Nigerians are poor all of their lives.

Poverty in Nigeria operates conveniently in a functional way for those who are not poor.
Thus, the functions of poverty is as follows:

1. Poverty ensures that 'dirty work' gets done. If there were no poor people to scrub floors, empty trash cans, then we would pay those who are not poor good money before they will be willing to do such work.

2. Poverty creates jobs for some of those who are not poor, many people such as police, social workers etc who indirectly owe their own livelihood to the existence of the poor.

3. Poverty makes an affluent life style easier. Poverty enables the rich to enjoy the services of cooks, gardeners, house workers and others which leaves them free to pursue pleasures.

4. Poverty guarantees the status of those who are not poor. The existence of the poor confirms the superior status of everyone else e.g Dangote, Atiku, Buhari, Danjuma, IBB, OBJ, Nnamdi Kanu, Dokubo, Tompolo, Dieziani, Sanusi to mention a few.

5. Poverty provides a market for inferior goods and services. The poor buy the goods and services that other people do not want e.g day old bread, ageing automobiles like the ones awaiting to be sent to Nigeria after Hurricane Harvey, the advice of incompetent doctors like "Agbo" sellers, incompetent lawyers....let me not mention names here.

6. Poverty provides a group that can be made to bear the inconvenience of change. New highways are cut through the residential areas of the poor not through the estates of the rich. When industry is automated, it is the poor who bear the brunt of the resulting unemployment.
Let me not even mention the change that APC brought that the poor had to bear.

In view of the above, elimination of poverty is not just an imperative but should be a priority of every responsible country and government.

In theory, our constitution and indeed all successive governments in Nigeria talks nobly of promoting good government and citizenship welfare on the principles of freedom, equality and justice.
But in practice, it is the powerful, the rich and dominant class seem to have all the rights while the only right left to the poor, the weak and down trodden seem to be the right to suffer in silence, to be patient and wait for their reward in heaven, that is if they are believers.
Most Nigerians now perceive poverty induced dreams like eating while sleeping as demonic possession or manipulation, many are sentenced to death by starvation through unemployment thereby denying them their right to live as guaranteed by the constitution of the Federal Republic. The level of wickedness is on the increase with ritual cases, kidnapping, rape, human suya, incest etc

From the discussion so far, it is not in doubt that the poor in Nigeria are actually imprisoned by their poverty which denies them movement and self actualization.

Nigeria as a nation cannot grow when POVERTY is still the largest school that most Nigerians are trained.

Not true. The greatest country in the world, US, is made up from people from all over the world. Nigeria is made up of only one race. Not only that, a large part of US population were actually enslaved and lynched and about half of US actually lost a civil war fighting for secession. Yet they all managed to stay together. For non-Igbo Danites, we use proverbs a lot in speaking. He said in Igbo: "What we see in the pot is no longer soup". Ok, therefore someone comes along (NK) and teaches you to hate the pot and focus on giving away the pot because the pot has cheated you, forgeting that on the whole the pot has been beneficial to you and that giving away the pot does not solve your problems - it simply means you will need a visa to go use the pot (because you will still need the pot after you give it away)

If only this DAN thing could start from looking at the root cause of why people still wanting Biafra after 50 years. Forget about the hate speech for a moment, as even Buhari uses hate speech and actions. Have the things that caused the Biafra war still there today? I assure you once you start working in the direction of ensuring there is equity, fairness and justice...the hate speech and Biafra agitation will die a slow death. Hoping the agitation has crossed the rubicon, though.

You would be wasting your time, trying to stop hate speech while the issues lingers.

All countries have that problem, including UK and US. Biafra will also have that problem. Someone will always feel marginalized. It is a problem you keep working on - the answer is not secession. After the war Igbos were more than marginalized and openly discriminated against. That didn't stop them from quickly becoming the visibly richest.
