bro am not saying moving is bad but if all the intelligent people move(i consider myself as one ) wink the problems will still previal moreover there is no place like home no matter how messed up it is

Sometimes u have to admit that a project has failed or too corrupted to succeed. So u scrap it and start afresh. Meanwhile since the project failing is not your fault, you find your way till they fix it, if ever.

So because they removed the check point in your area, it means Lagos isn't the worst place to live in Africa?

Doing this all by itself, isn't it enough reason for the state and country as a whole is a failure and should be the worst place to live in?

What about those that aren't privilege like you? How do u expect them to survive?

Oh, no doubt, I'm just grateful about the checkpoints - that's an improvement I can see and feel

Government is supposed to provide you with water. I hope u know that. Anyways, I heard rumours that Lagos state govt plans to charge or tax those with bore hole soon. I don't know how true this is.

This is 9ja. You don't wait for govt. We have inverter plus Nepa plus solar = 24hr electricity everyday. We have borehole plus pump plus water dispenser = 24hr clean and drinking water everyday

Improved Electricity, low crime, more organised transport , good infrastructures with Rail system developing by the side. That report is rubish. We know where we are coming from and our leaders should continue the good work

I am here suprised too. For one thing, all the police road blocks are gone

What is Singapores per capita income and what is Americas own? Do you know the number of poor Americans in there one cities? What about healthcare? While UK had NHS and Europe had good welfare system for there citizens it was Obama who even tried with Obama care which Trump over hauled.

Don't think it's average Nigerians you will come and be playing gimmicks on. We know you guys very well.

Nigerias problem is not having smart leadership that can put the right measures to curb corruption and get the economy on the right path.

Unbelievable! Here we are comparing US with Singapore! Only on NL. What is Singapore?! Just California is 100 times the gdp of Singapore!

There is no "poor" person in US by 9ja standards.
Income of people just on benefits would be considered at least middle class in 9ja.
Poor people have direct access to health care and emergency rooms require no payment or id's to get treated. Those are the facts. Stop comparing things that are not comparable.

Etreme poverty as obtainable in 9ja is not possible in US. There are too many benefits and free stuff. Please don't compare US with 9ja.

Anybody that listen to this kind of trash and believe it is a dunce. Why do somebody in America wake up carry gun and kill like 20 students., why do they have one of the highest suicide rate. The other time i heard that American and Uk embassies are declaring profit from visa fee denied Nigeria.

The truth is that every country has its own challengies and Nigeria is not differnt, no where is better than another. We stay here and enjoy here. is bribe a Nigeria tribal language it is English, bribe taking is in their own culture too

Quality of life is better in some places than others, and life is safer. That's just a fact.
Mass shooting victims are so infintestimal. Have u ever heard of a Nigerian victim? And BTW suicide rate among 9jas in US is almost zero. That is the real statistic.

The income they make. The quality of life they can afford. Their share in percapital income. And yes I am right in what I am saying.

Nigerias major problem is simply vision less, direction less and very wicked leaders.

Do you know if Nigeria just get it right in having just one smart leader. Nigeria will change.

Do you know that Singaporeans live better than Americans. Yes there per capita income is higher than US. What changed that country? It was just the vision of Lee Kwan yee. He was visionary, loved his people and effected positive changes.

Changing Nigeria just requires just;

Overhaul our education system
Massive infrastructure overhaul, electricity, roads, railway etc
Just this two things is the foundation that is required to change Nigeria.

Give Nigerians steady electricity and tell me if industrialisation won't overtake this nation. Because average Nigerian is very hardworking.

Nigeria have the population to generate a trillion dollars economy. South Africa has more than 80000 megawatts of electricity while Nigeria just have 3000mwgawats but still Nigeria has the biggest economy in Africa.

If Nigeria manage to get just 15000mwgawatts of electricity she will fly. Do we have the money for that? yes. Then why are we not having it? A very wicked leadership.

How? When obasanjo them were building power plants the ones they built. They built them far away from Niger delta gas reservoirs. The gas in Niger delta can light the entire Africa!!

But they built them away and then they required another billions of dollars to build pipelines from Niger delta to those power plants.

There are some things I don't want to say. When I look at Nigeria, I weep for this nation because we have the wherewithal to be a top ten economy on the World. We have the natural resources, the human resources, everything but it is just a very wicked, evil and vile leadership.

And running away won't solve it

A $100 note costs US 10 cents to make. Singaporeans buy it with $100 in goods. Tells u who is richer.

As for the rest. U r WRONG. 9ja's problem is CORRUPTION not megawatts. A smal bribe can get u a driving license, make your car road worthy, approve your expired or fake drugs, prevent u being arrested, etc. Due to corruption everything is fake or substandard. Even your money in the bank is not safe!

But the Americans are not issuing visas at the moment. Do you know who Stephen miller is? Go read up on him. He’s Donald Trump aide on immigration policy. He hates immigrants and has issued an order that visa officers should refuse visas to Africans. We are stuck in Nigeria for now.

How about Ghana, Togo, Kenya, Austria, Germany. Uganda, etc

Having hit songs has not caused her to slow down at all. She’s still releasing songs and working hard. Earlier today, she posted this on Twitter proving to Nigerians that success has only fueled her ambition.

my brother it's not easy anywhere oo. this life is not easy. the secret is never giving up. If you look at the life of many great men, it is not that they didn't meet terrible challenges but despite that they still achieved great things.

Anywhere I go I encourage people. Don't give up. Focus on your dreams. Seek God. Work hard. Even when life throws you down. Pick your self up and go again. I personally have had it rough too. But I never gave up and life improving better. So be strong and focus on your dreams and ambitions.

Yes, never give up, but also move your ass to where conditions are better. You are not a tree

In this life you are either a pessimist or an optimist. The way I see things may not be the way you see things.

As far as I know. I have better chance of attaining my dreams here than anywhere else.

One of the things I have found out about life is the people you hang around with determines how you see life. It determines the opportunities you see.

Sebi one guy opened one thread lamenting how US embassy was denying almost everyone visa. They dont want you to come to there country. So stay in your country and make it better.

There are bad people everywhere. Any change one desires starts from each one of us.
No be the same Nigerians give Nigerians bad names everywhere they reside around the world.

Let me be honest with you even in America it is not easy. I have very close relatives living in US. I know how many of them live. I have childhood friends who carry American passport.

Many people are making legit money in Nigeria!! Yes. Once we see a rich person we call them 419. Drug baron etc. See how Chinese Indians and other foreigners are making it in Nigerian markets while our people are running away to be third class citizens in a foreign land.

You may have your own opinion but for me, I dey here kampe. I dey here to hustle, work hard. Give people employment. To see how many of our people I will better there lives. By God's Grace. Not to run away to another man's land and be a laughing stock.

When you travel around the world and see how the black man is treated, like a trash. You will know it's better to be here and see the way one can help to effect positive changes not running away and becoming slaves or shit.hole the likes of Trump call our people.

man must stay and take our place in this nation.

You'd have a point if I had 400 years to live. 9ja will not improve in my lifetime (assuming it will ever improve).
I dont know about other places, but in US quality of life is better and safer at all levels.

This just made front page:

Lagos Tops List Of Worst Cities To Live In Africa, 2018 – EIU Report by tstx(m): 1:39pm

Giant of Africa, Nigeria, have been featured in international rankings once again in THE GLOBAL LIVEABILITY INDEX 2018 REPORT And this time the city of Lagos is our focal point.

Nigeria's commercial nerve center and golden city is the worst city to live in Africa.

The revelation is according to the Economist Intelligence Unit, EIU's 2018 ranking of the world's most liveable cities. Lagos city was ranked 138th of the 140 countries ranked by the EIU.

With a relatively low score of 38.5 per cent, Lagos was just a little above Syria's war-torn capital, Damascus, and Bangladesh's Dhaka. Both cities are hotbeds of violence, destruction and war...

A better life depends on how much money you have. It's better to be rich in Nigeria than to be poor abroad. And life can be very precarious in foreign countries too. Nigerians are dying abroad every day in very tragic circumstances.

I don't know about "abroad". Libya is abroad.
Quality of life is much better and safer in US than 9ja for EVERYBODY regardless of income.

Are people not making it here big time?
No be people they buy house for banana island for 400million?
No be people are running companies, making profit, employing people?

Bros me personally, I don't really fancy abroad. It's rather to go for vacation. I rather live here. My ambition is more in ensuring my Ltd company I started some years ago grows to a very credible and successful entity. I am more of an entrepreneur. Where people see problems I look for solutions.

It's not easy here, but we can't give up. Or run away.

The issue is not "making it". The issue is having a better quality of life, a safer life.
