Must be nice to have a job where you can work for a few weeks and get millions of dollars for doing a poor job.

I thought Marinakis and Big Ange were from the same LGA in Greece?? grin

Needles to say that we have to take these African playoffs seriously.

Coming out as the African rep for the intercontinental playoffs might just be all we need.

Europe has no slot for the intercontinental playoffs, which is good. Bolivia and New Caledonia are two countries who have already qualified for the said intercontinental playoffs which will hold in March next year.

Concacaf - 2 countries
Caf - 1 country
AFC - 1 country
Oceania (OFC) - New Caledonia
Conmebol - Bolivia

2 world cup slots are available here. We should be able to get one if we are serious enough and make it out of the CAF playoffs

Cape Verde have qualified for the world cup for the first time after beating Swaziland 3-0 in their final home game
They did not concede a single goal in all of their home matches in the qualifiers, and they topped a group containing Cameroon, Angola and Libya

In my country, we are waiting for Rwanda to draw South Africa so that we can beat Benin and then qualify grin

You know back then when you see Mike Riley or Howard Webb as the matchday referee at Old Trafford, the opposing team should just forget it.

raumdeuter:
We win 1-0 we have better head to head
We win 2-1 its tied and they might start checking goals scored which should favor us
We win 3-2 means Benin wins the head to head
All these, and we still have to pray that SA drop points. Chai! sad
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Amethyst101(m): 7:48pm On Oct 10, 2025
Ibime:
Only 4 teams can make second place and the 4th team there already has 18 points

We have to beat Benin 2-0 and hope South Africa draw or lose
Benin will be coming with a mission.
I dont know if our desire to win is greater than their desire to avoid defeat.
Maybe a hard-fought 1-0 for us, but then will it come down to H2H and goal difference, which is where I am confused as to what takes precedence

All in all, our best bet is to win by 2 or more goals - no thanks to the stooupeed goal we conceded tonight
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Amethyst101(m): 7:40pm On Oct 10, 2025
So SA too will be expecting us to help them beat Benin here while they beat Rwanda.
If Benin get any kind of result in Uyo, its bye bye Bafana

Please people who understand this mathematics, if we beat Benin 1-0, we both will finish on the same points, goals scored, goals conceded and Goal difference.

head to head
Ben 2-1 Nig.
Nig. 1-0 Ben.

What happens next?? will away goals come in??

Wirtz isn't a bad player as people and some media make it seem.

Even against Galatasary he was decent despite Liverpool's defeat.
He's okay, but you know banter, agenda + that price tag would weigh heavy grin
He just needs a goal or an assist to change things.

Good thing he didn't get any of those today, because he almost did, when Salah missed that chance
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Amethyst101(m): 8:25pm On Oct 04, 2025
A healthy Lavia changes this team, he needs to stay fit.

I'm very optimistic about this team when we are FULLY fit.
Colwill
Palmer
Lavia
Delap

If we have everyone fit and firing, we should be fine

BlewMahn:
Reece James landed awkwardly against Brighton and I thought he was about to start housemanship. But he continued the game and played the next with no issues.

I quite literally got on my knees to pray for times like this

Daalu chineke
Don't jinx it brudda embarassed
Let's just hope he keeps on this level without any more serious injuries.

I still remember the blistering start to the 21/22 season when we were top of the league, abd playing great tuchelball.

Then boom, James and Chilwell who had both been integral went off with injuries almost at the same time, and everything fizzled out from there.

We can blame and talk about Maresca as much as we want, but the players need to look at themselves and own up at this point.

3 red cards in a row is unacceptable at this level angry
