Celebrities have started sharing their rags2riches story to inspire people who look up to them. In a new interview, actor Ramsey Noah recalled the years before the fame and money.
"Those were the times when things got really bad for my mother and I and we had nothing. It was so bad that we didn’t have a home or shelter to live in. We had to stay in a store, a small store that could take only one mat. My mother and I squeezed ourselves in that mat. We didn’t even have a cup to drink water not to talk of a stove to cook. And my mother had to borrow, beg and stuff like that. These were moments when I was young I didn’t realize the gravity of poverty we were in, I couldn’t tell. But it was a good orientation for me. It was moments that I thank God for making me past through, because that has sustained and helped me even as an actor. The ability to deliver all the roles they give me because I have tasted both sides of the coin." Ramsey said.

Tell us about your growing up?

My growing up was like tasting the two sides of a coin. When I said tasting the two sides of a coin; I mean tasting being a rich man and a poor man. I grew up with my mother, and with a silver spoon, I had it all. When I began to realize that I had good things to show off, everything disappeared. We started from grace to grass; that has helped me a lot because it totally balanced the equation of life. It gives me confidence in all spheres. For instance, I can hang out with the enlightened or the rich. I can mingle with them very easily without any complication or complex whatsoever. Also, if it is the low class or poor people, I can mingle very easily with them. I can eat a fantastic dinner in a huge, expensive restaurant and I can go eat amala at a buka and I would not feel anything. I don’t care being a popular actor or a role model. I am a role model to everybody.

Are you saying that fame has not denied you anything in life?
It has denied me a few, but it has not denied me being as natural as I want to be. I won’t let that happen. It has happened to some of my colleagues. Fame has taken them away from what they wanted to do or be. There was a time I went to a bank to pay my NEPA bill and I was wearing a short and T-shirt, because it was on Monday morning somebody came down and said ‘Ramsey Noah, you are a role model, you shouldn’t have been wearing this’. I didn’t take it likely with him.


With all these experiences, what has life taught you?
Life has taught me never to look down on anybody because the person you disregard might just be your saviour tomorrow. I realized that all my mother’s property was washed away by rain. We couldn’t sleep all through the night because of the flood. It was really terrible. Like I said, it is a life lesson.

Is there anything that can make you cry or shed tears after all you passed through?
Yeah, those moments; those terrible moments when we had nothing and we were living off people. People were just helping us out. There were times we didn’t have food to eat three or four days. You haven’t eaten and your stomach is rumbling but you don’t have any place to go. There was a time I lived on the street, in shops. There was a time I slept under the bridge. It was unfortunate that there were no records so that we can have memories we could play back now. To me, I am so extremely grateful that I went through it. At that time I hated everybody around me. In fact, I used to question why God was doing this to me. Indonesia’s police have arrested a 29-year-old Philippians woman for killing and eating humans. This woman has killed and eaten more than 30 girls and many other humans including her husband and had kept their meat in her refrigerator.

3 girls who went missing 10 years ago were found locked in the basement of this man named Ariel Castro, they were kidnapped, raped and chained to a pole for 10 years. One of them even gave birth

Amanda Berry, 26, went missing in 2003 when she was 16

Gina DeJesus, 23,disappeared when she was aged 14 in 2004

Michelle Knight, 32, disappeared in 2000 when she was 20

After pleading guilty to 937 counts including kidnapping, rape and murder, Ariel Castro was today sentenced to 1,000 years in prison for holding the three Cleveland women hostage as pictures emerged of the House of Horrors where he repeatedly sexually, physically and emotionally abused them over the course of a decade.

Other horrific details of the women's ordeal had already emerged, including tales of being chained to poles in the basement or a bedroom heater or inside a van, with one woman forced to wear a motorcycle helmet while chained in the basement and, after she tried to escape, having a vacuum cord wrapped around her neck.
Castro repeatedly starved and beat one of the victims each time she was pregnant, forcing her to miscarry five times.
He forced the same woman on threat of death to safely deliver the child he fathered with another victim on Christmas Day 2006. The same day, prosecutors say, Castro raped the woman who helped deliver his daughter.

Pictures of dirty mattresses draped in chains were shown as Burke explained it was from the room Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight lived.
Authorities also found a 'significant amount' of cash in a washing machine in the basement, the same room as the pole the women were chained to while he raped them.
On occasion, Castro would throw the money at the women after sexually abusing them and require they pay him to pick up any special items for them when he left the house, the agent said.
He would also force them to hold a gun to his head and dare them to shoot him in a sick game of Russian Roulette

Castro shocked the packed courtroom by stating there was 'a lot of harmony' in the house and denied raping them. He claimed none of them were virgins when he abducted them.

Contemporary sculptor Daniel Edwards unveiled his newest work on the 6th of June, a life-sized figure of the 32-year-old reality star, titled “L.A. A 31-year old woman has been arraigned before Apapa Magistrate’s court, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, for allegedly burning her friend’s breast over suspicion that her friend was secretly sleeping with her lover.
The incident happened at Railwayline, Ijora Badia where both friends live. Miss Ifeoma Nwosa allegedly assaulted Blessing Amade by hitting her with fist blows severally and using a burning firewood to assault her right breast during the fight.


Blessing’s breast was badly burnt and she was rushed to Apapa General Hospital, Lagos where she is being treated.
It was gathered that Ifeoma, who suspected Blessing of dating her lover, had confronted her on several occasions. But Blessing denied the affair.
On the day the incident happened, Ifeoma who had gone out was tipped off by her neighbours that Blessing had slept again with her boyfriend.

When Ifeoma confronted Blessing, an aurgument ensued between them during which Blessing warned her to stop accusing her about such a thing and that if she wanted to keep her boyfriend, she should control him and not her.
This angered Ifeoma who allegedly attacked and rained several blows on Blessing and also took a burning firewood and burnt her breast.
The matter was reported at Ijora Police Division and Ifeoma was arrested and charged to court under the Criminal Code.

She is now facing a three-count charge of assault occassioning harm and inflicting grievous injury on Blessing.
When the charge was read to her, she pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mr H.0. A. Amos granted her bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The matter was adjourned till 22 May, 2013.
Ifeoma has been ordered remanded in prison custody pending when she will fulfill her bail condition.

We attended a wedding on our way back the car
