I have decided this morning that I will call my Mechanic at Adisa Bashua, Surulere, to come and pick this ride from my office, replace the Gear box with Automatic, it will cost me only 250k max, and by Wednesday, I will place it on 1.6m
I am replacing it with Corolla parts as against the evil advice from GAZZUZZ, the man that wanted to market himself by intruding in another person Business wrongly. Gazzuzz claimed that Yaris part is what will be used to convert my car, I don't know where he learnt that from, he can not lay hands on any book to prove his claim. I will send the pictures of the parts stage by stage. this guy called gazzuzz is not a qualified Engineer, I am a certified one and it is a shame someone like gazzuzz is what some poor Nigerian look up to for advice on cars to buy. By the time I am done with gazzuzz, he will run out of Kill and buy Market.

Gazzuzz is first a mechanic before being a Cardealer, if any one has read this thread properly, gazzuzz is yet to call out Canadian cars in his own words, all that he posted are links to user reviews, and websites that have information on Canadian cars and he has done so objectively with balance.

What I do not understand is why no one is saying yes I sell Canadian cars but see pictures of the underbody of the cars I sell, THEY ARE NOT RUSTED , that will make gazzuzz look like a fool and paint the car dealer from Canada as a saint. I have seen the adverts gazzuzz makes and he takes out time to show case his products, he even goes as far as taking pictures of the underbody of cars he sells, I am yet to see a car dealer on Nairaland who meticulously makes a car advert like gazzuzz, this is a forum and not a Jiji or checki where you can sell cars without any questions asked, there is a consumer base and gazzuzz is protecting that consumer base objectively , what he is doing is what every mechanic here on Nairaland is avoiding because of backlash and the funny thing is there is now a gang up of all his enemies online "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" . Be objective in your responses, if you advertise cars to sell on Nairaland, show case what you have to sell to the public and not in quiet where the potential buyer cannot receive any counsel because he thinks he will miss this deal if he does not pay up quickly.
Gazzuzz is right to have brought this up because at this time there are several inexperienced buyers about to make life changing decisions.

What has the op done wrong? Assuming I am a first time buyer and I come across this thread have I been educated or not? I can also see a balance in his posts where he explains how to inspect and how to spot a rusted car, also read in his post that not all cars from Canada are rusted, so where is the beef coming from?

Rust is bad, I have owned a rusted Mercedes Benz in the past and I can tell you there was no solution and I had to sell it for scrap in feringada . We should all look beyond hate and ask the technical questions instead of hating.

The prices of very popular cars on most auction sites in the usa sky rocketed in recent years, the use of stolen cards at auctions made it very easy for fraudulent individuals to target cars that are easy to sell, buying at unfavourable prices at auction and selling for peanuts before or after they arrive the shores of Nigeria.

With the FBI'S big bust recently and copart changing payment policies we should expect a more favorable playing ground for car sales where competition is driven by demand and supply and not the availability of stolen funds .

Ehailing business is dead and buried when it comes to 3rd parties. Only owner drivers will survive the current slash of fares, and the fares will drop further until owner drivers can barely meet minimum wage per month. The Ehailing companies are capitalists, it's all about profits, there will be no room for people like you in a few weeks time as rental will fall to 20k soon.

You also picked vehicles with very poor 2ndhand value, so even cashing out of the system will be very hard for you. The elantra and civic cannot be sold for more than 400-500k the guys who bought corrolas were smart, at least they can sell for 1.2-1.4m depending on how clean they still are.

You need to re-think your strategy as you are yet to make profit after 2years.

There is no motivation in investing in a business that yields no profits.
