thats how to calculate speed... If ur modem or speedtest gives u certain amount of speed... Its mostly in mbit/sec so u divide it by 8.. Then thats ur actual speed or that d actual speed u are browsing with... Eg if ur modem show 1mbit/sec then ur actual speed is around 125kb/sec...

merengue: Are you sure? Cos its only in the early hours of the morning that I get that kind of speed. During the day, its usually around 450kb/sec which is why I don't do downloads anymore on MTN.

i get 500-550kb during d day and 700-800kb in the evening

problem with nigeria internet is not speed buh bandwidth deployment... No reasonable bandwith at affordable price. Imagine a situation where u had to buy 2hrs for 250naira and the network provider trothle ur line at 70mb to 100mb (a 5-7 minutes hd youtube video) and ur speed becomes very slow and network didnt make it well known to everybody that ur bandwith will be throttled at certain usage..
