The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two brothers Mathew Elegbede ‘m’ 27yrs and Sunday Elegbede ‘m’ 33 over the murder of one 73yrs old man Odeyemi Adebari ‘m’. The two suspects were arrested following a complaint from the son of the deceased who reported at Agbara Division that the two brothers attacked his father with matchet and inflicted matchet cut injury on him. He was rushed to the hospital where he was admitted but gave up the ghost four days after as a result of the injury he sustained.

Trouble started on the 12 of June when Mathew Elegebde reportedly broke into the apartment of a tenant in the house of the deceased and the tenant raised alarm that he doesn’t know the mission of the suspect in his apartment. The deceased then came out to challenge the audacity of Mathew to come into his house uninvited. Mathew was said to have ran away only for him to return with his elder brother armed with cutlass in which they used to inflict injury on the deceased which resulted to his death.

The DPO Agbara Division Sp Adegbite Omotayo led his men to effect the arrest of the duo and they have made useful statements to the Police.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police Cp Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the transfer of the case to Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and possible prosecution of the suspects.

Another young man suspected to be a thief has been burnt to death in Atimbo, around Edim Otop junction, Calabar.

According to reports, the suspect was one of the thieves apprehended by residents on Sunday, of which two of them were burnt.

He managed to escape but got caught today, beaten and set ablaze.

Leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra Leader, Nnamdi Kanu today addressed a crowd of IPOB supporters - the largest since he was granted bail - at his residence in Abia State today.

A viral video showing the Biafra leader addressing the crowd - appeared a violation of the bail conditions set by Justice Binta Nyako on April 25 including an order for Mr. Kanu to avoid being seen in a crowd of more than ten people.

However, Mr. Kanu was filmed speaking to a Crowd of IPOB supporters today.

Fire this evening gutted the house of Lt. Gen. Oladipo Diya (rtd) located at Adekunle Fajuyi Road, around Ladipo Area of Ikeja GRA.

The retired Lt. General was reportedly not at home as at the time of the incident.

On ground to assist the officials of the Lagos State Fire Service and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) were Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Owoseni and Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), who were returning to the GRA after an unscheduled visit to Ikorodu.

The fire was put out at almost 7:00 p.m.

Due to the disturbing resurgence of armed banditry and kidnappings along Abuja-Kaduna road, troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army have carried out clearance operation at Rijana forest, Kaduna State on Wednesday 14th June 2017.

The troops cordoned armed bandits' camp at Rijana forest where they arrested the suspected notorious gang leader, Sani Ibrahim (alias Burtu), who has been on the declared wanted list of the Security Agencies in Kaduna State for a long time. The troops also recovered 1 motorcycle and 25 goats from the camp.

Similarly, troops mounted ambush along Zamfara State border with Kebbi State in which they neutralized 3 armed bandits and recovered 134 cows and 13 sheep. The operations are ongoing.

The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) today discharged Saraki for lack of evidence to continue with the case and dismissed all 18 charges filed against him by the Federal Government.

The two-panel tribunal headed by Justice Danladi Umar held that FG failed to prove essential elements of all the allegations it levelled against Saraki.

The CCT also held that no reasonable tribunal would convict a defendant on the evidence led by the prosecution through its four witnesses.

A Nigerian lady, Lola Omolola, the founder of a secret Facebook group "Female in Nigeria (FIN)" on Tuesday met with the CEO of social media giant Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg.

'Females in Nigeria' group is designed exclusively for women to air their views, talk about struggles and provide support for each other.

The group kicked off in 2015 and recently hit over one million members.

According to Mark Zuckerberg, he will be meeting with more top admins like Lola later this month for the first ever Facebook Communities Summit.

Here is what the Facebook Boss said;

I'm heading to Chicago later this month for our first ever Facebook Communities Summit with a few hundred of our top Facebook group admins.

For the past decade, Facebook has been focused on making the world more open and connected -- and we're always going to keep doing that. But now it's clear we have to do more. We also need to bring people closer together and build common understanding. One of the best ways to do that is by helping people build community, both in the physical world and online.

I've written and talked about these themes throughout this year -- especially in my community letter in February and at Harvard Commencement last month. This summit will be the next chapter and we'll discuss more of what we're building to empower community leaders to bring the world closer together.

Over the past few weeks I've been meeting group admins across the country who are building meaningful communities on Facebook and will be at the summit. This photo is with Lola, who lives in Chicago and is originally from Nigeria. Two years ago, she founded a secret Facebook group called Female IN, or FIN.
