ok my bf cheated on me, i got rid of him straight away tho i loved him and still love him, coz basically once a cheat always a cheat, i wud rather b alone thn b witsum1 who cnt stay faithful 2 me esp wen he gets evrytin he needs frm me but is jus 2 greedy lol, i was soo mad but i didnt shout didnt cry i jus told him were thru n the reasons because i didnt wana lose my dignity n my self respect , still hes beggin me 2 get bk wit him n tho i want to i kno he wnt change, i fink how i reacted was good coz its made him quite insecure finkin i dnt feel 4 him etc lol

1st i wud c his reasons on why he is cheatin, unless its a v v v v gd reason (which how many gd reasons can there b ??) then i wud personally walk away because i fink u lose ur respect if u stick by sum1 who jus wants u there as a tropthy or sumtin n cnt stay loyal 2 u, even with children involved wen ur upset coz ur husband is cheatin thy see tht and it has an impact on there lives,

Okay, lemme start with the verb "be" which can be conjugated to to various forms: "am" "are" "is" (in the first person, second person or third person singular or plural present tense) remains as "be".

I am a man
I be man (removal of the article "a"

we are women
we be women

she is a thief
she be thief (removal of the article "a".

You are a tailor
You be tailor.

They are police
Dem be police ( the pronoun "they is never used in pidgin English)

The verb be in the present continuous, which remains the same in English, changes form in pidgin. So am, are or is becomes "dey" (this has nothing to do with they in English). The "ing" in English is then done away with where necessary. eg:

I am going
I dey go

they are coming
dem dey come

you are learning
you dey learn

it is there (no "ing"
e dey there ("e" is a very important pronoun in pidgin English sometimes for the second person singular but always for non-humans.)

"Na" is another word that can be used as a universal indicative form of the verb "to be". It can be used for the present, past, future, and also both singular and plural to replace the verb "be" in the forms "it is", "it was" and it not only replaces the verb, but the pronoun which follows. eg:

It is my book
na my book

it is her house
na her house

it is mike
na mike

it was mike
na mike

it was mike who beat me
na mike beat me

it was she who killed the snake
na she kill the snake (there's no expression of the past tense using "ed" in pidgin)

it is I who will pray
na me go pray ("will" is always presented as "go" to establish future tense or indicate promise and future action. However, the word "go" which means motion still exists as "go" in pidgin English ).

Be, dey and na are very important words in basic Pidgin English grammar.

Some very basic vocabulary which you may need to converse with in Pidgin English are:

Abeg - Please
Sabi - know
chop - eat
jones - suffer
oyibo - non-African
jand - the UK (or generally abroad)

before I can saw anything about learning pidgin, I have to know how good your English grammar is so at least I can explain some basic concepts in pidgin English.

If you can lay your hands on some decent videos of Fela Kuti which has subtitles, it'll do you some good.

While I dont think ur wrong, Im not sure I agree with u on this. What if he was the one for u? (Of cos in ur case, he wasnt, cos ur happier with this new guy.) But really, wot if he WAS the best person for u? I quite like to believe my bf is. Its been long disctance for almost a yr, but thats goin to change in 6wks. YAY!!!!!! I guess its been worth it even tho, mehn, na God oh, cos id be lying if I said it has been a walk in the park. Ive been home twice during this period. It really requires u to do some soul searchin and b honest with urself. Is it worth it? Do u see a future for both of u? And if the answer is yes, it doesnt get any easier but at least it all becomes worth it. But my! Is it sum work?!!!!!!

at the time i fought it was worth it, in reality it cud never of happened, it took 2 long n neither of us cud handle the distance much, but gd 4 u tht, 6 weeks 2 go 4 u is worth it
