https://www.lego.com/en-us/90-years-of-play It’s 90 years today the 10th of August since the LEGO Group was founded in 1932 and is today the biggest toy company in the world. Back in 1932, Ole Kirk Kristiansen founded the LEGO Group. The carpenter was manufacturing wooden toys in the small town of Billund in Denmark. ‘Leg godt’ is Danish for ‘play well’ and is where the name ‘LEGO’ comes from. The LEGO headquarters are still in town today as the company celebrates its 90th anniversary and enjoys a position as one of the most beloved brands in the world. I am a student architect in my Msc. finals and I am a contestant in the 90 years of play competition. Proposing a Paediatric hospital inspired the Lego City Hospital Kids live in the world of beauty, colour and play, yet we sometimes subject them to a harsh environment when going about our businesses. The current contamination of the air in Port Harcourt, Rivers State through Illegal refinery of oil is affecting the health of people who live in the contaminated region especially children whose immune systems are still developing. Yet, when they fall sick, we take them to a place as scary to children as a hunted house is to adults which further deteriorates their health. To solve or reduce the level of anxiety children get from going to the hospital, I have come up with a playful design that will create a healing environment for kids thereby aiding quick recovery. Inspired by the creativity of kids who were given lego toys to play with at the hospital, I have come up with a paediatric hospital design using the Lego bricks and the concept of lego set 10302 (Optimus Prime). The children's hospital takes its Optimus Prime concept from the plan view and its construction process using lego bricks. The design comprises different departments and is indicated with different colours of the lego brick such as; GREEN (symbolizing life, good health) -- Accident and Emergency (ground floor and first floor). , Intensive Care Unit (second floor and third floor) BLUE (calm, rest) -- Inpatient department WHITE (purity) -- Pharmacy and Radiology department YELLOW (hope) -- Maternity (ground floor) Surgery Theatre (second and third floor) RED (love, passion) -- Commercial department (ground floor), rooftop garden (first floor) ORANGE (symbolizing Vitality) -- Outpatient department and Administrative department. The outdoor playground celebrates LEGO AT 90 The winner will be announced today the 10th of August 2022. Wish me luck. Please supermod front page @lalasticlala

I live in a small town you can regard as a village with little architectural opportunities so I want to use this medium to thank the architect that saw me capable of doing a design for him in banana Island. I wish I could get more projects like these so the resources could be used to develop Esan land in the little way I can. We will get there. Esan Oye!

The assassination by the US of Iran's most powerful general caused tensions between the two countries to soar, raising fears of an all-out war. But what lies at the root of the crisis? Here are the basics. The US and Iran have long been foes. Problems can be traced to at least 1979, when Iran's US-backed shah was overthrown and the country became an Islamic republic. That year, amidst the fallout from the revolution, dozens of Americans were taken hostage inside the US embassy in the capital Tehran. Relations have been frosty ever since. There were signs of a diplomatic thaw in 2015, when Iran agreed a landmark deal to limit its nuclear programme, allaying international concerns. It did so in return for the lifting of tough economic sanctions. But the election of US President Donald Trump the following year posed a challenge. He hated the nuclear accord, which he branded "the worst deal ever negotiated". In 2018, he abandoned it altogether and reinstated US sanctions to force Iran's leaders to agree to a new deal - something they rejected, even as the Iranian economy was sent into a deep recession. The US blamed Iran for a number of attacks on oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman last year Mr Trump stepped up the pressure in May 2019 by applying secondary sanctions on countries that continued to do business with Iran. Relations further deteriorated when six oil tankers were sabotaged in the Gulf of Oman in May and June. Washington accused Iran of being behind these attacks. Iran denied this. In July, Tehran started suspending some of the commitments it had made under the nuclear deal. Then, in late December, the US blamed an Iranian-backed militia for a rocket attack which killed an American contractor in northern Iraq. Washington retaliated by bombing bases associated with the militia in Iraq and Syria, killing at least 25 fighters. These bombings sparked a backlash in Iraq. The US embassy in the capital, Baghdad, was attacked by crowds of protesters. President Trump blamed Iran for orchestrating the attack and warned it would "pay a very big price". On 3 January, Qasem Soleimani was killed in a US drone strike at Baghdad airport. The general - who controlled Iran's proxy forces across the Middle East - was regarded as a terrorist by the Americans, who alleged he was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American troops and was plotting "imminent" attacks. Iran vowed "severe revenge" for his death and said two days later that it had abandoned the last limit on its enrichment of uranium imposed by the nuclear deal. Mr Trump, meanwhile, warned the US would respond in the event of retaliation "perhaps in a disproportionate manner". Source: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-51018120

I really need to buy some guns for my family. Please no more Afonja or Igbo talks. Let's all come together. Not every elder in your locality knows what's happening because they can't use the Internet. Inform them of the threats, let there be a council meeting then a community then a state then a regional meeting. War is looming.... This reminds me of the movie "Apocalypto" PS: Info from the South South
