That's not true. I can fully attest to that. Once you exit the graduate programme, you will assume a role.

Working at Shell might end up not being as rosy as many think. I read the clause that says after 2-5 years of coming in as graduate trainee you become an Independent Shell Contractor. I think that means you only receive salaries and benefits packages for 2-5 years. Then you later become a contractor under shell where you no longer receive salaries but paid only when you have a contract assignment. In the long run the politics involved in securing a contract will be high. I trust Nigeria for that. Then no retirement packages. You just end up being used and dumped.

Please let's spread our tentacles for other opportunities cos I believe there are many companies out there far better than Shell in the long run.

You can also think of starting a business. May end up the best option afterall.

SRD held yesterday. 2015 Recruitment is still in progress. Don't give up until you get a feedback. Remain hopeful,patient and optimistic

I don't know the time. I'm pretty sure another SRD will be held before the end of the year. Last year some guys did SRD by Sept/Oct. Like I said earlier, its based on business need.

Assessed internship is for 4th year students of engineering and geosciences.It's not for graduates.

Yeah. SRD is held throughout the year in batches based on business needs.

I wish to use this opportunity to reiterate that Recruitment for Shell Graduate Programme is 100% transparent. I'm not saying this just because I'm one of the successful ones but because I have met a good number of guys who didn't have the much talked about connections but were recruited. Instead of dwelling in the mentality of 'connections', one should find out what to do to make one stand out. I'm not dismissing the fact that for one to get recruited in some companies in Nigeria, one require 'connections' but that doesn't mean that people don't get jobs without 'connections'. Shell Recruitment Day is one of the most transparent recruitment process in the globe.The fact is that it's a slow process, shell nigeria receives over 26000 appplications every year for less than 20 positions(you know what that means). I encourage you all to remain steadfast and patient. Patience was one of the weapons I used to become successful. I believe that one day I will run into one of you in Shell. Believe me your time will come. Wish u all the best in the job hunt.

Could it be that they invited some selected disciplines? Was any engineer invited?

2nd one was conducted last 2 wks. The 3rd was to be held last wk.

I was called first from shell portharcourt to confirm somethings on my cv. Then the email followed a couple of hours later. Or the telephome interview it was a nigerian number and the feedback came by email.

I think you misuderstood the process. Shell conducts phone interviews and SRD all year round. It's in batches, depending on when one completes his online assessment. It's a first come first serve thing. Keep hope alive buddy.

Gud day pals, I got an invitation from Dangote oil refining comp, the subject of the mail reads INTERVIEW SCHEDULE but the content says "invited for personal discussion" . I submitted my c.v to a mail (general mail on d advert) wen the advert was on last year, after a mnth I was called to send in my appointment letter and pay slip. I was not called for any test. Could someone give me a guide and wat should be expected

As you all must have seen in shell website, there are two routes to shell-Assessed internship and SRD. I did assessed internship in Shell in 2012 during my 4th year, passed the final assessment and was called after my service informing me that I will be considered for 2016 recruitment as they couldn't find an opening for me in 2015. I have realised that the only medicine to this long wait is PATIENCE. I urge all of you to exercise patience as the industry is having difficult times. So they are adjusting their budgets for the year, cutting their expenditure as the plan to acquire BG which will be the biggest deal for the company if it pulls through. There's gonna be lay offs, no doubt but Shell will surely recruit this year as they have openings for 2016 Graduate Programme across the globe- US, Canada, China, India, Russia as advertised on their Career site. Patience remains our strongest weapon as we wait for God's time. Wish you all the best!

I think they are done with 2015 recruitment. Some people had phone interviews in December as regards 2016 recruitment.

@kpangi and Andytoc u are not alone on diz o. Am Chemical too August batch nd am yet to receive my own msg....but am also expectant. I know of 3 chemical colleagues dat have been contacted so itz not by dat. For us awaiting d next batch may God/Allah accomplish what he has started in our lives . Amen. It is normal to be tensed up seeing ur colleagues recieve sms but you haven't coz we are all humans. Let's keep our faith alive as we await subsequent lists. And for my fellow colleagues who hav gotten sms, congratulations and I wish all of u a successful medical examination. For those travelling to Lagos may God grant u journey mercies to and fro to ur destination. Amen
