why are people like this? Why the insult? It was totally out of place.
Someone comes to a public forum to share her story, fully stating her issues and what she needs information on; and the next thing to do is to hurl insults at her as if you have seen her before or knew her before she had her children. Haba! This is uncalled for. Just advice her and move on. She didn't say she needed a pity party. She was actually looking for a way to change her eating habit.

@OP, I had a baby 6 months ago, and my eating habit changed also. It happens. I am even pregnant again, and now it is worse. But you know what? I don't give a hoot. I am in a stage in my life when I will add weight. When the right time comes, I will shed the weight. The truth is that our body make-up is different, and the most important thing is to understand ourselves. I wouldn't say you should cut down on your food intake because your baby needs the nutrients, but try and reduce your intake of fatty foods and do light exercises. My dear, when the time comes, you will lose the weight. Love yourself for who you are, it is a great thing to be a mother!!!

Op, breastfeeding sucks all they nutrients and energy in you . Just try and replace your gluttony by eating healthy meals and snacks.
Don't mind people crucifying you, if you reduce your intake you might decrease the quantity of supply for your baby, or might faint one day.

Instead of eating half loaf of bread, replace it with protein . Learn about healthy eating, go for a walk outside with your baby. Like that you reduce the contact you have with food.

You can also introduce baby formula, at least it will help you retain some energy for yourself.

Hang on there, your healthy baby is more important. It's just 6months, baby will relieve you of that duty by eating solids.


as for your husband, just ignore him. You know some men can nag. He never know how Hungar dey wire person

@op, pls don't try to diet now o. I am a nursing mother with similar experience but mine is the opposite. I told my hubby that I won't be eating everytime I am hungry so that I won't get fat. He warned me seriously that I must not do that now.
Please eat lot of vegetables and drink a lot of fluid.

Okay, should they now do the reverse...( send their house helps to good schools and kids to lower schools)...if this happen... you would have asked that "Mentally is this right?"...
btw...why do you think they send househelps to lower school...
here are my reasons,

1. 3rd party stipends : Imagine paying your maid's uncle or mama tope that brought the maid to you monthly stipends...asides, you still give the maid monthly stipends too,, after all these, you go come put am for big school!!!!!
even if you put am for school, you TRY!!! You dey really GENEROUS!!!!!

2. Focus on the house help Job: Imagine an house help going to good schools where there is extra demand for academic work...even at home!!! if I may ask, when will the maid have time to cook, or wash clothes, or iron, or ??....imagine putting a maid in a so call big school getting home by 6pm, does assignments before attending to house chores and leaves for school next day by 7am....wetin we go call that...!!!!!!
....maid don turn CHAIRMAN be that na!!!!


3. Some of the them know next to zero: So putting them in the so call good school is more or less a waste!!! Some will need extra coaching to catch up as some can't even read and write especially Yoruba ones...so ppl kuku put them for one public school near house where dey go dey learn small small.. till they catch up....


4. HOUSEHeLps aren't complaining!!!!!! do you know some nor like book at all....some prefer to learn trade( which some ppl now encourage)..

5.Economic Struggle..shey when men dey hussle send their kids to school na Im..dem go add maid own join...( when dey never build house, buy car, do party)....lol

bottom line...
when you wan get househelp, make una get professional one oooo..the one wey get PhD...to save you the stress...or else
...try send them to school( even if its the lower ones...ones you can afford n convenient for you)))cos they also deserve to be EDUCATED!!!
