It was a bitter sweet experience I'd not advice any young man to engage in. It's a game and the only way to win, is to be the user .

I knew this already but unfortunately I was blind sided and disarmed by the love I had for her 13yr old child. The child was so bright. I tutored her in mathematics til she became the best. I saw a lonely bright child who took me as a father figure in her school.

I was so attached and one day I was opportune to meet with her mother. I met a very beautiful young woman in her early 30's the day she came to drop off her child at school. Prior to this, our chat engagement was official and all about her daughter's growth. She requested that I drop all formality and desist from caling her "ma" . She called me babe instead and We both became informal with time and got very close. There was constant calls and communication.

She told me alot about her past , her 4 exes and how she's been alone. It turns out she was always the victim in all her stories . She's so pretty , why would any man leave such a woman? I kept asking myself. She learnt about our 5yrs age difference which was shocking to her but she was already deep into it and ready to go down.

THE ROMANCE

We became sexually involved and things were going down fast. She had great sexual appetite . She wanted me to marry her and was fond of calling me her child's soon to be father and how we were gonna get married. She's a fashion designer who is financially stable.


CRISIS

She had sudden financial crisis after embarking on a huge project. To assist , I tutored the child for free and I was assisting her occasionally with finances cuz I had lesson gigs fetching me 6figures.

Soon, I started to realise her sudden change of attitude. The calls soon dropped and we started to have alot of unresolvable fights , reason being that she would rather not like to settle the conflict when I want to, but make it linger so I'd have to beg her even when she was wrong. She never likes to talk about the unresolved issues, so we could trash it amicably and make amends where necessary.


POINT OF REALISATION

I suspected she was sleeping around and one day I decided to pay her a visit . On that faithful day, I heard her elder sister over a loud phone conversation " Jane, u really have my time today that you didn't go to man's house"
". I cringed on hearing that . This is someone who said she doesn't sleep around because of the stereotype attached to being a single mom.

They both laughed about it and she told her sister that she was currently with a man. The sister said further " what of bros? He say he no do again or when he go engage u?
" .

This time I felt the ground should open up . "Bros" is an elderly man in his 50's who wants to marry her. We had a fight that night and she denied that she had anything to do with bros and her sis was joking about her visits to men. We trashed it and made up with sex.

Next morning she was on call with a male friend who wanted to borrow money from her and she called him babe.

Note that, she's called a different male friend babe accidentally too and she quickly defended that she calls all her male friends "babe" . I told her it wasn't cool. She got defensive and even called another male friend and she told him I was jealous, they both laughed and she ended the call with " I love you and he replied too". We had a fight . I left and still came back to check on her. I was ignored while she was on call with her male friend for 30mins after which she invited him over with 2 other guys.

I asked why and what for. She boldly told me "whatever activities I have with my friends is not your concern , even if we have 10some
" .


I was saddened because this was someone for once I was ready to risk it all to settle down with. She was probably entangled in something I never understood. I discovered that she clubbed on Sundays , and would never allow her daughter come live with her. The poor child has been living with her grandparents for 13yrs. My girlfriend also abused weed and alcohol. I saw all these in her fridge

THE PREGNANCY

I was broken by everything and kept my distance but we still spoke. Early this year, we both suspected she was pregnant since she missed her period. We did a test and I found out she was pregnant. 4weeks 8days but I doubted it was mine after all the recent discoveries. To cut the long story short she removed it and bled for days.

The disrespect and devaluation kept on going . I was mentally unstable for a while and took Ill. I couldn't resume to teach and I lost my job. My mother was angry with me for having anything to do with her.

I broke up with her cuz I realised what I had wasn't real. I realised I never did anything that bad to deserve all the treatments I received. I was supporting and loving and was even a father figure to her child .

I'm without a job now but I'll be commencing a technical training for a better job offer. I'm still unstable and hurt but I'll bounce.

I'm one of those guys who don't believe in playing nice because ive been hurt before. I broke my rules and was disarmed by the love I had for a child and I fell in love with a lie. But it's all good. I learnt my lesson.

Then, the race began in earnest for three years now, reaching a frenzy with the works of the two PDP committees on zoning. The first was the Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi committee on the zoning of the PDP party offices. The Ugwuanyi committee quickly told the world the committee’s assignment did not cover zoning the office of the president. Though this was true, the question is: why didn’t the Ugwuanyi committee zone the PDP chairmanship to the North without aligning it to the divide that would produce the PDP presidential flag-bearer? The second committee headed by Gov Samuel Ortom of Benue state was specifically on the zoning of the presidential ticket and, with the votes of the representatives of all the 17 Southern states without any exception, the Committee unanimously recommended throwing open the PDP presidential ticket, which the PDP NEC simply upheld.

One thing irrefutably stands out – Wike shot himself in the leg. Here was a man who had an overarching influence on both committees but could not insist that the ticket be zoned South. Many had wondered why? The reason is also relatively in plain sight: the Southeast factor. As the clamour for zoning of the presidential ticket of the PDP to South reached its crescendo, many had pointed out the fact that though the PDP Constitution had prescribed zoning of the office of the president to be between North and South since the South-west and South-south had taken their turns in producing the president and the vice in this current dispensation in the persons of Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, zoning this time around, should not just be to the South but the Southeast.

Atiku Abubakar went a step further by offering to step down from the race if it would be agreed that the touted zoning to the South would mean micro-zoning to the Southeast. Wike and the rest could not take the Atiku challenge maybe because Atiku would likely back Peter Obi, who was his vice-presidential running mate in 2019 and an ally. The prospects of Peter Obi picking the ticket if PDP zoned South was so real compelling Wike to go for an open contest, believing he could pick it up ahead of Atiku, Tambuwal and Bala Mohammed, given his large war chest.

ALLEGATIONS OF VICTIMISATION OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS IN RIVERS STATE

There is growing tension and unrest in Rivers State secondary schools following reports that some Principals, Vice Principals, Head Teachers, and their Deputies are being victimised or punished for allegedly supporting former Governor Nyesom Wike.

According to reports, several Principals perceived to be loyal to Wike have been transferred to schools with poor and unconducive working conditions, while others have reportedly been removed from their administrative positions and redeployed to classroom teaching duties after serving for many years as Principals or Vice Principals.

A source within the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board (RSUBEB) alleged that officials were instructed to use any available excuse to demote or redeploy school administrators believed to be loyal to the former governor. This development has generated widespread concern within the education sector, with many stakeholders describing the situation as unprecedented and destabilising.

A retired board official who also expressed concern over the development described the action as wrong and harmful to the education system. According to him, it is improper for the Board to remove a duly appointed Principal or Vice Principal and replace them with a staff member from the same school merely because the staff member is senior by grade level, while demoting the former administrator to a classroom teacher.

He warned that if such a practice is allowed to stand, it would set a dangerous precedent whereby any school head could be removed simply because a higher-grade officer is transferred into the school. “It would mean that whenever a teacher senior in grade level is posted to a school, the existing head must vacate office and return to the classroom. This will drastically demoralise school heads and make the entire system unstable,” he said.

The retired official further noted that the issue may not necessarily be political, but rather lies in the way the new board members and directors are handling the matter. He emphasized that school heads and their deputies are not appointed solely based on grade-level seniority, but on competence, qualifications, and professional training — particularly in education management.

He questioned the rationale behind appointing individuals who never formally studied education to head schools, noting that some of them were converted from clerical positions, while others were employed without education qualifications or only obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE). “How do you overlook someone who actually studied education and education management, and appoint someone who does not even know how to write a proper lesson note, let alone inspect teachers’ lesson notes?” he asked.

Recalling past standards, he said that during the tenure of Ven. Fyneface Akah and his predecessors, the criteria for appointing school heads — consistent with global best practices — were competence and qualifications. According to him, this approach contributed significantly to the stability and achievements recorded in the school system during that period.

Another source at the Ministry of Education, who spoke on condition of anonymity, suggested that the situation could be handled more professionally without creating unrest. He explained that the standard practice worldwide, where seniority becomes an issue, is to transfer the officer senior in grade level to a school where the head is already senior, while junior officers are posted to schools where vacancies exist, thereby balancing seniority without humiliating or demoting existing heads.

He also noted that with the governor’s approval for the immediate deployment of the recently recruited 1,000 teachers, such teachers could be posted to schools where Principals, Vice Principals, or Head Teachers are lower in grade level. According to him, this would prevent unnecessary tension and avoid heating up the already fragile polity.

Meanwhile, a teacher from a secondary school in Port Harcourt has appealed to the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) to intervene and prevail on Governor Siminalayi Fubara to reverse the alleged directive. The teacher stressed that not all affected administrators are political loyalists, adding that many are career civil servants who have served diligently without violating any civil service rules.

Further investigations revealed that the Board allegedly relied on questionable grade - level justifications to demote some school heads. A source at the Board described the action as improper and contrary to established civil service procedures, noting that it is wrong to remove a duly appointed administrator who has not been found guilty of any misconduct.

In view of these developments, stakeholders are calling on Governor Siminalayi Fubara to urgently look into the matter. Reports indicate that several affected administrators have refused to vacate their offices or hand over, insisting that due process must be followed and that the integrity of the education system must be protected.

That is why everywhere in the world, degrees do 90% class and 10% practicals, while technical diplomas do 90% practicals and 10% class work.

Although due to the twisted nature of the Nigerian educational system, you will see polytechnic students doing 60% classwork, 20% practicals, and 20% argument on how they are better than university graduates.

That is why a mechanical engineering polytechnic student is busy running around, looking for how to solve a strength of materials equation, to prove that he knows "the theory," when he is supposed to be learning turning operations on the lathe machine.

He is going to prison for nothing. EFCC has already recovered 800 million. First Bank on their own did transfer reversal of another 300 million. He has the option of paying a 5 million naira fine or going to prison for 1 year. But he MUST still pay back 272 million naira. If he doesn't, the court will give him a heavier sentence. In all, he has lost.
