More so happy, now we have the first elected female governor and that coming from the north brings greater joy.

lastpage: Actually, No Yoruba will advocate to leave Nigeria ....
The few Eediots like Fayose and that drunken and drug-laden Fani-Kayode spewing such rubbish is doing so because of the Ibo-punnany he is chewing right now .. and the Nnyamirins are applauding his "naked-dance of shame in the Market Square", for their own selfish reasons.
Yorubas worked hard, paid the prize with life and blood, to keep Nigeria united, we wont jeopardize what we achieved so far, for some Greedy, self-centred, treacherous tribalist.
These Yiibos want to see Yorubas commit the same "foolish error" they committed in 1967..... Yiibos can not be trusted in any way!
Just declare Oduduwa Republic today and you will see these "Nnyamirin traitors" support the Northerners to fight against the Yorubas, instead of also walking away.
For them, its all about REVENGE AND VENGEANCE!
Yorubas are too intelligent to fall for this type of crap... or into this type of TRAP! .
Lastpage! This makes sense...the name calling tho ? But I agree with ur point. One wonders why the IBO's are backing Saraki, Fayose, Falana and every Yoruba who are pro-PDP. ALL I SEE IS POLITICAL PROPAGANDA TAKEN TOO FAR. |

FATYTOY: THERE are so many things to be pissed off with about this entity called Nigeria, especially for people of my generation and the generation before us. We have steadily moved from pipe- borne water to borehole water. We have moved from the days of heavily subsidized food in university cafeteria to what; no cafeteria, no light, no security, strike-infested tertiary institutions where nobody graduates on time? We have moved from great public schools to private primary, secondary and universities that charge such fees that encourage parents to steal from their employers, private or public. The power issues and the resultant generator-powered powerless economy need no description. The health sector? I think that one has been relocated to Dubai, Israel, Germany and India. We are all shamelessly having our babies in America, Ireland and Canada so we can save the next generation from the pains of being Nigerians. Even as we try to keep our heads above the water threatening to sweep us away, there are the greedy, the powerful all over the place stealing our life jackets. Those ones figure that if millions of us sink, we will provide the foothold to stand on so the few can continue to live well. So, they rob and kill and explain it all away with graph and evil terminologies and percentages. The summary of it today is the weak are weaker, the powerful are more powerful and the future looks bleaker than ever. If you are in my age bracket, you grew up seeing teachers buying brand-new cars; Volkswagen Rio, Igalla, Beetle, Datsun 120Y, 160B and 180k. Now teachers sit in the ‘owner’s corner’ of Keke-NAPEP. We are all afraid of kid nappers. Graduates of Engineering are teaching in Nursery Schools and those who read Economics and Business Administration are riding ‘okada.’ So, what’s there not to be angry about? Go on Facebook and see the army of angry men and women. We have our different ways of expressing our frustration. Not much different are we now from frustrated wives. While one frustrated wife will just call a moving van and leave quietly, another will lace the man’s food with ‘otapiapia’ and another will stay and suffer in silence waiting for the day her children will rescue her. In the last few months, the noise of cessation has gotten louder and louder. Two sections of the country want to go. They are tired of this marriage. They have endured and endured and now they have run out of endurance. They just want out of this union. Can’t blame them, can you? When the touch and smell of your husband makes you want to throw up, all you want to do is go somewhere else, be with someone else. All you can see is the greener pasture on the other side. Quitting, however, always hide its downside until the quitter fully quits. That’s when the sad wife knows that there is an ‘Association of Lonely Wives’ out there and that cold nights are mean nights. Unless you have it all figured out, you should not confront the man who killed your father. I was just wondering what the implication will be for Yoruba parents like me if the South West secedes from Nigeria. My children will become international students and pay higher fees than Nigerians if their schools were in Abuja or Port Harcourt. Come to think of it, flights from Lagos to Kano or Owerri will become international flights, even if the flight is 55 minutes cruising at 33,000 feet above sea level. And my Glo, Etisalat and MTN lines will have to be roamed for them to function outside ‘Oduduwa Republic.’ Are you following me, my Yoruba people who want to secede because criminal cattle rearers are abducting royal fathers? If the ‘Biafra Republic’ becomes a reality, travelling by ‘Young Shall Grow’ and ‘Ekene Dili Chukwu’ will become international trips. And Lagos can even decide to put difficult border policies in place. What about citizens of ‘Biafra Republic’ in Ogun, Kaduna and Kwara civil service, won’t they need work permit? And will Lagos and Sokoto states be obliged to keep non-Nigerians in their employment at the detriment of their own citizens? Did you scream ‘Osanobua’? Me too. I don’t know exactly how secession works but I know how Ghana and Nigeria relate as two sovereign countries. I know you cannot carry the green passport unless you are a Nigerian and that the currencies differ. I also know the sources of income of Ghana cannot be merged with Nigeria’s which is why we have threatened Ghana with gas cut if they don’t pay what they owe. Sooooo? Monthly allocation will no longer be available to be shared in Abuja by seceding states. All new sovereign states will have to fend for themselves. If Oduduwa Republic has only 50 oil wells and one oil producing state, it will have to make do with income from that, to pay salaries, build roads, its own Aso Rock and National Assembly (pay the lawmakers too), fund its own elections and…..the list is frighteningly long. Indeed, there will be refineries and power plants to be built. Oduduwa Republic police, army, navy, to be formed and equipped. What will happen to the banks? I’m imagining Alaba and Ladipo markets in Lagos without my Igbo friends because they will have to go to their country, get new passports, visa and return as foreigners. Even Steve Nwosu will become an expatriate. And if I go to Biafra Republic, they will have to pay me in hard currency. You will need visa to move a patient from Owerri to UCH, Ibadan and an air ambulance to move a patient from Akure to UNN Teaching Hospital. Lagos actors will need visas to go on location in Enugu and vice versa. And all Lagos axis newspapers will have to be sold locally because freighting to Aba will be expensive and cover price will have to be different. Are you seeing what I’m seeing? We really need to give these things serious second and third thoughts. As it is, no Nigerian state is viable. Not a single one can pay its civil servants without bailout. How will any republic survive outside Nigeria, now or in 50 years? But then what do I know? Maybe we should even give it a try. Meanwhile, let’s all join this conversation. If any part decides to go, what are the changes it should expect? What are the realities of a new sovereign state? Send in your bit and let’s make it light-hearted. Author: Anonymous Lol...the southwest is very much Nigeria. I care less if the IBO people decides to go. But I was born a Nigerian and every morning I hear the national anthem sung at a school nearby my place of work...I've an increasing commitment to make it prosperous. The Ibos may leave...but that would come via a political referendum in the view that not all IBO's agree to this sham called biafra, at least the gainfully employed ones |

Rossikk: But when an African player tries to do something out of the ordinary on the pitch, the coach clamps down on him. When an oyinbo player tries something different, they hail him. If an African tries those Messi or Ronaldo dribbles and doesn't score or create a goal with each and every move, he's accused of 'showboating', and gets benched!! But those two are allowed the freedom to make as many mistakes as they like. The reason no 'big club' wanted to sign Jay Jay Okocha was because they knew he would outshine all their ''world class'' oyinbo stars in their teams, and would refuse to give up his skills, and would become world No 1. Mikel always plays to Mourinho's instructions to stay behind on the pitch, because he gets substituted or benched in the next game if he doesn't. We Africans never cease to blame other people for our problem... Nonsense |

I asked the lady who attended to me during the biodata reg. emphatically if that was all I needed to do and she replied affirmatively. Hmm...yes/no. If you have an account in another bank other than where you did ur bvn, you will have to link it. For instance, you did ur bvn in first bank and u have another account in uba, you MAY have to link the bvn you obtained from the former to ur acc in the latter |

Did u notice the relative 'calmness' during the periods of the deadlines and compare the situation with the few past months?? See...I frequent banks sooo much...and there are days in which banks had only 1, 2, 3 persons the whole day only for that number to soar to hundreds a day anytime CBN sets her deadline... I wonder, why waiting till deadline b4 getting things done...I put it to our non chalant attitudes Sure I agree the banks have to take some blames for this linking of a thing saga, but I would say the time given was more than enough. |
Business › Re: 6.6 Million Bvns Not Linked To Accounts – NIBSS by angiography(m): 8:06pm On Nov 04, 2015 |
chrisxxx: This country is a bizarre land. I went to the bank the other day the crowd I saw made me to do a calculation of the feasible days it would take to register every account holder. In most banks there were over one thousand customers with only one BVN point. Let us assume it takes 5 minutes to register a customer which is not the case, in one hour only 12 persons would be registered. In 8 hours working day 96 persons would be registered In a month 96x24=2304 customers will be registered. In one year 2304x12=27648 customers will be registered. How would a reasonable person give such an unrealistic time target to achieve the registration of all account as if we stay in the line to get paid? We make money elsewhere and bring it to the bank for safe keeping. 27, 648 is reasonable for a branch. Multiply that with at least 360 branches(10 per state). That's a little more than 10 million per bank. Suffice to say this bvn thing has been on since Feb 2014...I will put the blame on the nonchalant attitude of Nigerians except of course those who's registered but having faults emanating from the banks |

tonychristopher: I know a lot of my people who know me will be surprised by my position ...I do not understand what this Biafra thing is ...I mean how can some dude in London will come and start tormenting trouble for us Igbo by establishing a pirate radio that it's aim is to talk down on people both Igbo and non Igbo. To me this Nnamdi KANU isn't the freedom fighter I envisage . you can't want a country on the alter of insulting your neighbours and even your self. To me I see it as infantile and childish approach . Ojukwu never insulted anybody he had an agreement with them
But this KANU approach is something else . I have not listened to him and I do not think I have that time to listen to him. Pls whoever is reading this shouldn't get it twisted ...we can't have it the way of Sudan or that of south Ossetia nor that of east Timor nor that of Eritrea and Ethiopia. We can also have it the way of north and south Korea . I know that Igbo are assets to Nigeria though they won't want to agree with that and Nigeria is asset to Igbo though we igbo won't admit that but the fact is that we have a bigger market and eco space to exploit Biafra shrinks this market from 180 million to 60 million and this we have to understand
If we can have a multi lateral and billeteral understanding between the emerging nations that will be OK instead of going this Biafra way. Biafra is very OK and I as an Igbo dude support it . what I am against is having a pyromaniac in charge of Biafra . this we have to look before we leap.
We as a country have many non violent approach and they varies left for me I think we can go confederation or united nation way. What do I mean ..we can do it like UAE where Dubai, Abu dabi which are different countries but maintain single military and security and imigration..this is workable or we can have it united kingdom way where Wales, Ireland and other independent countries like Scotland have their independent paliarment but with same currency and visa regime .
We must guarantee free movement between independent states , we must guarantee the bond and brotherhood between the constituent nations . we can't fight ourselves again but as we do this we have to develop independently . if north want sharia and Islamic economy so be it , if west want monarchial capitalism so be it and if igbo wants Republican capitalism so be it. The bottom line is that we won't fight and we have to find a way out of quagmire. We may even have independent passport in this unity if it will ever come but there must be automatic residency and business permit in constituent nations
One of the first law of nation is : SELF PRESERVATION
These are few options available and let us rest on this online Biafra and tribal bashing
Que Sera Sera ...what will be will be
If Biafra will be it will be ..if it won't be it won't be
But if it be we have to also know that good neighbour matters and left for me I think confederation of states like USA, UK and UAE is the best . Africa and the world is watching and waiting for Nigeria to crumble
We can't crumble we have to find peaceful ways to get things done
Good morning all Good write-ups... First time I see a reasonable and all encompassing submission. To those drumming for war...lol, you guys think it's funny. A dude above was even making reference to South Sudan... Lol. South Sudan is worse now than when it was with the north. Violence does no one good.
