European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)For The Fake Arsenal Supporters by anigold(op): 5:13pm On Dec 04, 2012
I’ll never understand many arsenal supporters. They want our best manager ever to go they want the board to go and they want the players to go and they want us to splash the cash. Sounds like they want us to be the next rangers or leeds or portsmoth have your pick.
I don’t always agree with the board but I can understand why they doing what they doing. They remind me of good parents. When you’re a teen you despise them for preventing you from having all the fun you want, but what they actually doing is preventing you from going down the wrong path. It’s only later on in life that we see the benefits of this.
People are always claiming that the shareholders are just after money Yet they never ever take a cent all the money gets reinvested back into the club not always where we’d like it to go but it’s always for the greater good.
Thanks to the board and Arsene Wenger and there financial prudence we’ll be able to compete on the European stage for decades to come as we’ll be debt free so any future profits that get made will be reinvested into players.
People today think money grow’s on tree’s always saying we should spend spend spend there is no guarantee that this will bring success ask Liverpool who spent 100 million on players last season. A club who was in such financial trouble with the previous owners … to the point that they could have been the next leeds. These fans claim they want there arsenal back well I’ve got news for you…
THIS BOARD IS THE REASON YOU STILL HAVE AN ARSENAL!!!
Football governing bodies are changing all the rules in our favour cause they see that the system is flawed I don’t have an economics degree but every market has a bubble that bursts at some stage. Imagine all teams had billionare owners like abramovich in 5 years we’d be paying 200 million per player they’d all eventually go broke cause they’d have to keep pumping more in to be successful … oh wait this is already happening just at a smaller scale. The point is everything has a ceiling what goes up always comes down eventually.
Arsenal supporters are always telling me but it’s been 7 years now to which I always answer “so what”. with what the board and Wenger is doing we building up to we’ll be able to compete every year in the near future and become some distant football memory of the past.
We have waited 7 years for that trophy and just when all the cards are starting to fall into place for us to start spending on the pitch we have a few stupid fans who came along during the invincible era starting protests If it wasn’t for Arsene who created the invincibles you many of you wouldn’t even be arsenal supporters today .
Gazidis I must admit that I didn’t like him before and I’m still not his biggest fan but I can understand why he is doing everything he is doing to make us successful longterm with these commercial deals.
If the board keeps going like this We’ll be completely financially stable able to spend 30-50 million on players every season without fail not to mention our youth academy bringing talent through.
As for Wenger well the English media have proven it time and time again that they have a negative bias towards him (I still think its racism cause his French) always having something negative to say about him twisting his words and the fans are to stupid to see that the English media is turning them against him.
I would like to ask one question when it comes to Wenger How many managers would be able to keep us in the top 4 for 16 years as well as get us into the champions league for 16 years with the budget he has … please name one I have never ever gotten a response to this question from anyone.
I’ve heard people even go as far as to say wenger just inherited a team of decent players so if they were so good why did the previous manager not do any better.
Wenger is the man in the middle he takes flack from the media and supporters for a budget set by the board (for good reason I may add) he protects his players. Yet today we have fake supporters who disrespect him. To which I ask had Wenger been replaced 7 years ago do you think the board would have given another manger more to spend I think not.
We’re so close I’ve been patient for 7 years and I’m willing to be patient for a little longer cause we’ve built the stadium we’ve reduced the debt and we renewing and growing our commercial deals I predict that we’ll start to spend more on players and in 2 years from now our ticket prices will come down fans will be happy players will be happy and WE’LL RIDE OFF INTO THE SUNSET all I ask is for the black scarfers to give us a chance to get on the damn horse

i Love arsene wenger you are the best football coach in the world, thats the definition of being a great team manager. cos theres no coach in the world that will sell his best player to his rival club. Alex ferguson will never do that even if he is sick. wenger you are the best and you are the only coach in england that believes in the youth the rest are just waiting to buy ready-made players(looking for cheap success). if i was a player i will play for you. Bleep all the haters

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)There Are Consequences When You Leave Arsenal by anigold(op): 5:59pm On Aug 21, 2012
Some fans loyal to Arsenal Football Club will be fervently hoping the last couple of days have been a really bad nightmare, most probably caused by something you ate. They’ll be hoping that Robin van Persie has not borrowed Fabio da Silva’s number 20 jersey at Manchester United. Others will fervently hope that the injuries the Dutchman suffered at Arsenal come back to haunt him.

Whatever the reaction suffered by Arsenal fans, I’m sure you’re all feeling sorry for yourselves. You’ve seen a man who was in such scintillating form last season he made Batman look like his sidekick.

You were, I’m sure, hoping he would backtrack on his statement released on the fourth of July, with the ardent wish that he would commit to a new deal at the Emirates.

Well, don’t feel sorry for yourselves, feel sorry for Arsene Wenger.

The Frenchman has seen some of his Club’s best talent leave North London for greener pastures for several years now. Indeed, so predictable has it now become that fans of rival clubs now tell Gooners that new Captain Thomas Vermaelen will be on his way out next season.

Over the last few years, Arsene Wenger has seen the likes of Kolo Toure, Gael Clichy, Ashley Cole, Francesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor, Robin van Persie and now Alex Song leave Ashburton Grove in pursuit of ‘ambition’ and ‘success’.

What hurts is not that these players left the club, what hurts is that these are players that Arsene Wenger hand-reared to make them the footballers they are today. What hurts is the manner in which they left the Club. And though there are exceptions to the rule, not many have gone on to win accolades away from the Ashburton Grove. Ironically, had these players stayed at Arsenal, instead of trickling out the exit door, they could’ve actually won something.

While the above statement may not be absolutely true, football is, more often than not, about what lies beyond that which is immediately tangible.

Yes, Samir Nasri has won the Premier League title (on goal difference), but so insecure is he about his place in City’s starting eleven that he takes a jab at Arsenal every now and then. Is he really worth the £25 million City forked out for him last season? As Arsene Wenger says, football rules are made such that a player can be worth a lot today and nothing tomorrow. Nasri seems to be acutely aware of that fact. He may have tasted success on the field, but judging by the way he behaves off it, few will remember what he’s done on the turf. His behaviour at the European Championships in Poland-Ukraine was atrocious, and the French Football Federation have handed him a two-match ban as punishment.

Emmanuel Adebayor is now forever on-loan, and it is quite evident that he moved to Manchester only to significantly increase his earnings. Tottenham Hotspur recently wanted to buy him after he had spent last season on loan there, but he was not willing to take a pay cut to move to Arsenal’s hated rivals. As the Togolese himself put it, he was content to earn money while playing on the City bench.

Kolo Toure was once captain of the Citizens, but the arrival of Vincent Kompany has seen him forced out of the starting XI. Toure then took a slimming pill which contained a banned substance (possibly in an attempt to keep himself fit) and tested positive for drugs. Toure was banned for six months, in which time Joleon Lescott had made the centre-back berth his own and Stefan Savic had been signed.

Despite making 14 appearances and winning the league last season, Toure is no longer first choice, and doesn’t see eye-to-eye with Roberto Mancini. This was clearly seen when Toure flung his Community Shield winners’ medal into the crowd in anger after City had beaten Chelsea 3-2 at Villa Park recently. Toure had spent the entire game on the bench, with the young Savic being preferred to him.

There are many other examples I can provide you with. Arsenal’s talisman Cesc Fabregas has failed to win anything of note – with the exception of the Spanish Cup – against Athletic Bilbao. Victory in the UEFA Super Cup, Supercopa Espana and the Club World Cup were expected. Alexander Hleb was frozen out of Barcelona’s squad, and today is playing for his boyhood Club BATE Borisov, after loan spells at Birmingham City and VfB Stuttgart and a short stint at Russian club Samara Sovetov. Even today, he regrets leaving Arsenal.

The King of Arsenal, Thierry Henry, like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, was excluded from Barca’s plans towards the end of his time with the Catalan giants. Like Zlatan, he was not given an explanation as to why he wasn’t featuring for the Camp Nou side. He remained a Gunner for life, though, having returned to Arsenal for a loan spell from New York Red Bulls last season. He has also expressed a desire to join the coaching staff at Arsenal once he retires.

What of Mathieu Flamini at AC Milan? The other half of the Fla-Fa combination at Arsenal, Flamini was third choice behind Massimo Ambrosini and Gennaro Gattuso at AC Milan. He has recently signed a contract extension, but that will see him take a significant pay cut.

Only Gael Clichy has gone about his business quietly. So has Ashley Cole to a lesser extent. Because the truth is that Wenger made them who they are today. They would not be capable, proven players who had the audacity to command such high wages had it not been for Wenger. They left Arsenal just as they were about to peak, and have gone on (for the most part) to regret it. Because the truth is, that had they stayed at Arsenal together, their careers would’ve definitely flourished.

As ex-Gunner Paul Merson puts it, few players leave Arsenal and live to regret it

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Arsenal’s Season Plans Are Incomplete…don’t LOSE FAITH! by anigold(op): 3:04pm On Aug 19, 2012
The “doom and gloomers” are out and about again. As usual, the second the club experiences turbulence they come out of their holes and start raving about how the club is never going to win anything and going to finish 6th. They are never around when the club is doing well…so it makes me think that they are actually busy supporting some other club and then when Arsenal have an issue (since they hate Arsenal) they take the time to go online and talk absolute shite about the club. Anyway, enough about that.

ARSENAL FOR LIFE , FOR EVER I LOVE MY CLUB.
