I don't know why people just assume that private investigators are for only marital and extra-marital issues. You can screen fraudulent people, for companies who want to employ senior level staff. Investigate mysterious happenings, disappearances, thefts, murders (if you're willing to go that far) etc considering our police force doesn't provide such services. You just need to decide how far you want to go. You might also want to have some lawyers on your team to assist with the legal framework. This is a new terrain and if you have the vision for it - you will succeed. You don't need everyone to patronise you, just a few who need your services and can pay. |
Back to Seun's original question: There's a lot he can do with or without N4K! When i was in school i used to sell birthday and success cards from my room in the hostel, someone next to me used to sell toast bread, another person braided hair, some sold cold minerals etc I know guys used to sell things as well. It's more the idea and being flexible about what you can do. He also has to consider his natural gifts, can he write articles, sing, play football etc. Though i would advice that if he was on hols or school strike, he should get a job, menial, part-time, office whatever to raise more capital. Who says you need money to start a business, he can provide a service - If he has GCE results (which he must have to be in school), he can teach at expectant jambites lessons. He would have more options with more money, possibilities are endless so i would advise he looks for a job meanwhile if he can't think of what to do. Aferall, time is money! I know this post was started several months back, out of curiousity, Seun what did he eventually do? Or was he a hypothetical guy? ![]() |
This is a great topic! It has got me thinking seriously about my worth - In my 30s with family committments - I'm not what i think i should be worth but i'm on the way to getting there. Ask me again in December! ![]() |
Like everything in life - I have learnt not to throw the baby out with the bath water! I initially had some problems with his potrayal of 'poor dad'. Initially, he made it look like it was a crime to be an employee and we all know that not everyone can be an employer - it's unrealistic. There are many 'poor dads' in Nigeria that don't end up the way his own did. They work hard for their money in paid employment and then diversify into other investments. Maybe Americans are so happy and content with their work that they don't need an additional source of income but in Naija most parents i know that have a reasonable job - ALWAYS have their fingers in more than i pie. However, I do appreciate the education of it all which is basically: to use your inflow to make more money for yourself from which you take care of your expenses. Inflow must always be much larger than outflow. Use your imagination to grow your inflow. I have been applying these principles for several years after reading this book and i'm the better for it. Rich Dad Poor Dad - Truth or Fiction? Definately fiction but very educative, enlightening and progressive I think he made up for the stories in his other books by concentrating more on the principles than the blah blah P.S. My dad would certainly disown me if i were to write about him the way RK wrote about his! P.S.S. So would my Mum ![]() |
Have our Nigerdelta boys released the Rusal expatriates they've been holding hostage for some months now? This is definately a bad sign for Rusal, hope they can get over with it otherwise hold on with investing till you're sure of what's happening. |
