Eggcelent: Annabechick. Massive one. Congrats. From here, the width of the pen seems below minimum standard. What is the width here, pls? jamp, sir. How far with your cost-cutting measures vis-à-vis self milling? Have you considered buying grounded maize/wheat offal & do floor mixing with concentrates? the width is 20ft |

jamp: as adviced in this forum, milling is the way forward. we have some challenges as regards milling, we are making arrangements to start milling towards the end of the year when our next batch of 2000(coming this july) will start laying.
in the mean time we have switched to animal care for all our 3 batches. this move will save us about 1,900 daily.
what do you think the width is 20ft |

robonski15:
As long as the farm is yours, i will prefer concrete pond.. A collapsible pond can be costlier than constructing a concrete pond, but if you prefer the collapsible you will need two 15 by 15 collapsible pond to raise 2000 fishes.. Hope you have a good drainage in the area?
www.agricnetwork.com sir thanks for ur advice but the problem is the fish pond i was abt constructing will cost me abt 6hk six hundred thousand. But i think am i an going for earthened pond its cheaper. But am so confused because am adding this to my poultry farm |

robonski15: The difference in price isn't much.. I will prefer you use collapsible ponds. Is the farm land yours, and how many fishes are u looking to stock?
www.agricnetwork.com thanks so much for replying me. the farm is mine nd am thinkingof stocking 2000 fishes for a start will a collapsible be durable? |

Eggcelent: Annabechick. Your pen won't do for the number you are looking at. You need to increase the width to at least 26 feet. segun1976. 85g/day for 18 weeks old pullets in cages is OK (according to ISA Brown Management Guide). However, I'll suggest you pick several of them at random (especially, the smaller ones), weigh them to see if they are up to 1.5kg. If yes, stick with the 85g/bird/day for the week; if no, increase it to the 95g suggested. Success. thanks alot i think i will ask them to increase the length to 120ft |

segun1976: What type of roof did you use? Are u planning for cage or deep litter system?
This would affect the number you can raise in any given space. . good morningbi am planning for deep liter system and am starting with broilers. The roof is Zinc |

jauntty: So sorry about your mum's conditions. A friend of mine used to work @ Cathem and I know the consultant there is good. Secondly, Glaucoma, Cataracts n Retinal tear is really not a good combination but the case isn't as devastating as you might think. ... If the Cataracts is matured, then removing it is d best Option, as hypermature cataracts can have its own complications too. Also, Cataract extractions/removal doesn't really worsen cases of retinal tear.....For the Glaucoma, I hope she is on drugs and carefully monitored. Glaucoma is more serious than the Cataracts U are woRried about. For more questions ask or send me an email. Or add DrSteriod on BBM @ his profile Signature Yeah she has some glycoma eye drops and it has been helping i will get the name tomorrow. Thank u so much for this am a little bit relieved. |

Hello please this is my first time of writting here. Pls i meed ur help, my mum was diagnosed of glycoma and also cataract also she doesn't joke with her health but now we discovered she is also having retina tear she has been seeing flashes so we went to an hospital in Ikeja to use laser(around october 2014) but she kept on receiving flashes. So we decided to go bck to hosital 3days back yesterday d doctor said there are abt 3 tear in her eyes so we did another laser . Which is quite expensive also the name of the hospital is Carthem in Adeniyi Jones. Have been doing some online search and it seems removinh cataracts will increase tearing . But th doc is persuading us to remove the cataract that it will make d flashes reduce but am scared that it might worsen d case? Pls i need ur help as am writtinh now am crying i dont want my mum to go blind am just 23 ajd i still need my mums guidance pls if u have any possible information kindly share to me |
