Breaking News!!! I don't know if y'all remember me. I was unlucky with Finland last year. I lost a lot of money, time, ginger, happiness. Today, I got my American Visa approved! I wish y'all well, to my friends @olabode89, @dondaddycares, and the many many guys wey we try run Finland parole together, I hope you're all enjoying Suomi?

Your boy is rolling to God's own country!!! It's yet to be seen if it's a better deal than Finland but all the same, me sef go travel commot for Naija!!! hei hei cheesy

Congratulations!!!! Sureboy, I surely remember you and all your posts. I remember all the things you said on these thread and they cracked me up big time. When I read about your plight, I really felt bad but couldn't relate as I wasn't yet signed up on Nairaland. Even this year, I thought of you and presumed you were still following the thread but decided to be silent until something positive comes up. I thank God for you really. How did you apply for the US visa? Is it a students visa? If you don't mind sharing.

Bosses in Finland, I hear drivers license there could be up to 3,500 euros. I am hearing its also better to get an original Nigerian DL that can be converted over there which should come at a cheaper rate. Pls how true is this? What do you guys advise? Thanks

I think what caused the confusion was the OLE_OPI form. Earlier, I made a statement in it that the form is strictly for the paper application. If u followed the online process, all you should submit is only the printed online application and you don't need to fill any OLE_OPI form . If you go through the two, u will see that the content are the same. And you doing online application and submitting and OLE_OPI form will only complicate and contradict eachother and they will have to process your application manually which can take more time.
God will make it easy for us. All d' best.
I totally agree. I filled that form too instead of just printing out the filled electronic form. Guess we have all learnt from this. Let's just hope for the best.

thanks very much annie. the problem i have is its obvious mine was routed manually because i have no customer number and dairy number in my portal just the customer number given at the embassy after interview. so what it will be like is i will wait for the embassy to request i send supplement to abuja and they will also forward to finland and migri will verify and also send decision again? thats seriously going to be a long wait. what do the bosses in the house advise i do please? mail migri or continue waiting? thanks all
I suggest you send an email by Monday to migri and embassy of Finland. Include your customer number and copy them like 5 times each. Sometimes, cos they might be overwhelmed, things will just be hanging until you prompt their attention.

please annie, when you said migri said your decision is ready and they are sending it to abuja, did you mail them to enquire or they mailed you to tell you that?
They didn't email me to tell me my decision was ready. I saw that it showed decision ready on the portal and began to email them. Then they sent an email to me to tell me that my that the embassy of Finland Abuja mistakenly routed my application manually and electronically. And decision has been sent manually. They further requested I contact the embassy for my decision which I did, but was told decision had not yet arrived. Had to fwd the email back to migri and pleaded that my decision be sent via email which they did. Up till now, I haven't seen the so called manual decision from the embassy. Another thing to note is that cos my application was also routed electronically, I got request for supplements electronically as well. Never got any request manually or directly sent to my email. If you know what I mean.

thanks alot for the prompt response. so whats the process like? how will i get yo know the decision? and secondly why will the embassy change the route of ones applicayion? is there any reason why its that way or they decide which goes electronic and which goes paper?
shocked manual route things is what I see. Maybe decision and everything will come at once. Better still call or send emails to rectify the issue. My application was routed through both means but decision was routed via manual cos they said that's where my photos and finger prints were attached. I had to send several emails before I finally got my decision via email.

Why do people always want to be spoon fed? Use the Internet. You can Google search anything you want. If you then need clarification that's different but make an effort.
Babes what's up? Any progress with your application? Where in Finland are you headed? Looking for someone headed towards Tampere to relate with grin

NELLYWEEZY:
Hello people I have been following this thread for quite a while nw and I also applied for the masters program in Finland, I was later offered an admission into the university of Lapland to study media education. I already had my interview on the 30th of June and I was asked to upload some documents before the 11th of July which I already did too but I want to clarify some issues :
First I used my dad and his childhood friend as sponsors and I already provided a letter from both of them stating why they are sponsoring and all. My dad introduced the other sponsor too in his letter
Secondly they are both pensioners so the money for the account was derived from their pension my dad receives over 300k monthly and the other sponsor receives over 900 pounds monthly. I also stated that my dad is into aquaculture business which also supports him too, I attached a letter as to why they can't get payslips cos they are both pensioners and I also attached a letter clarifying why my dad's business is not yet registered bt he is already working on it bt can't met up with the process. Also the other sponsor is a retired optician who has registered his business bt is yet to finalize his bank account details all these I clarified in the letter. I also submitted copies of landed properties, shares documents and employment letter for both of them including the bank details.
Thirdly is that, as at the time of depositing the money into my account they both deposited it with raw cash into my account and I provided the pay slipsbof both of them and it was evident on my statement of account bt not on theirs, also as at the time my dad was depositing his account was low bt in the letter it was stated that he receives over 300k monthly so just few days after submitting his bank was credited I hope it does not count.?
Lastly I submitted some personal documents too online like my NYSC certificate, ielts certificate, birth certificate, Online Journalism which deals with the course I was given (UNESCO CERTIFIED) certificate among others too. Please I just want to be sure I am on the right track.
Tho I already contacted someone in uniform eastern Finland and told me there should not be any problem with all what I submitted but I still want extra clarifications from the house please. And also I added a pension scheme instead of the payslip and also in the sponsorship letter from my father he stated that am his last son, also the land is an acre with two buildings on it and a fish farm. Thanks

I don't think at this point, there's much you can do but wait since you have already added and uploaded all the documents you can. If you had asked before uploading or submitting, am guessing you would have got suggestions. Am not saying it's too late, but I recall that stating that your sponsor's business isn't registered might be a red flag. But lets wait and see. Best of luck

Just want to know, is there anything wrong with purchasing flight tickets directly from the airline website? Whats the advantage of purchasing from an agency?
I don't think so. Just that I checked the airlines and it seems a bit more expensive considering you will have to pay in foreign currency. I stand to be corrected tho.

Please in your case, did your sponsor submit payslips? What other documents did he attach?

No he doesn't have payslips. Company attached a letter explaining why. Also attached were company's statement, balance sheet, income statement (profit & loss) registration documents, agreement, etc

I had to supplement my application via the e-services. I didn't get any manual email and that made me wonder a little.

In a scenario of a business man, who does not have a stable income/month , how can u state his income in that case? Or do u have to do a kinda comparative analysis of his statement of account to get an average of what he makes from his business in a month?
My sponsor used his business account also for me. But funds have to come into the account regularly. What you can do is, let him write on letter head of his company, a solem affirmation that he doesn't have payslips. But show that funds are regular into his account.

i was not giving any customer number at the embassy o, but i paid for online application and submitted the online summary instead of the ole_p form .
Then don't worry. They printed out some guidelines sheet for me that carried a manual application number. On getting home, I checked the e-service site and saw that a different customer number had been generated for me.
