Princedapace: My dear, I no longer worry my self about northerners. They simply find it hard to survive outside govt agencies. If u take a look at our private sectors, if u take a look at the startups with massive potentials, if u take a look at companies built from nothing to something, u will hardly see any Mohamed this, Yusuf that, simply put, u will struggle to find a northerner there or behind it. U will mainly hear Yoruba and igbo names and south south south names. Same thing on competitions, especially educational competitions, u will mainly see Yoruba, igbos and south south names making waves. Once in while, u may see northern name, rarely o.
But when u go to govt agencies, u begin to hear Mohamed, Yusuf, Abdul, etc. U got my point? U begin to see northerner Muslim names. How often do u see them win educational competitions? Look at nollywood and our music industry, yorubas, igbos and South South people helped to make the industry what it is today.
Northern region simply survives mainly on govt positions which they get mainly based on tribal sentiments from the various northern leaders who have led this country. The other day, there was a post about some of Nigeria's finest startups, there was none by any northerners. A-side natural resources, southern Nigeria has human resources that is well tapped.
That is why I get so hurt when I see how igbos and yorubas fight and the north keep taking advantage of it.
A-side known govt ministries, go to top govt agencies, na northerner names u go see heading the place. I was at a FG agency the other time, around last year, a particular section was filled with people from the north and the head of thay section also from the north. Some of these guys working with him from the north couldnt even write well or speak well.
Southern Nigeria would have become the centre of Africa's development if our southern politicians weren't greedy and selfish. The southern politicians only care about their selfish interest that is why they can't challenge northerner leaders. Southerners are like slaves working for northern Nigeria.. What u just discovered is how it is dear. These people see government positions as birth rights. I sincerely give it to southern citizens for creating things out of nothing for themselves. Look at education, entertainments, science, Arts, startups, tech, commerce, etc, southerners are the ones creating something out of nothing. I just wish yorubas and igbos can stop their cold war and work together. The two are really great nations. Excellent comment about the need for unity among Yorubas and Igbos, both the ordinary people and leaders. However, you miss it completely by ignoring the northerners because all the revenue paid by the private sector is squandered by these guys in the public sector. Is that not the wrongest attitude to have Cheers. www.nairaland.com/attachments/3929046_image_jpeg9f360c5ab7736510df54c882e9dbf188 |

Nepotism with the icing of calling it 'qualified'. All the certificates, someone else has at NITDA and has slaved long to lead it; but your president can't help himself. its in him like peak milk. He actually did not join as Technical Director but as an Assistant to the Director. Too much packaging just like barawo bubu prior to 2015. Now many people eyes don clear. mmb: He joined NITDA in 2017 as Technical Assistant to the Director General/CEO. Being the IT regulatory body in Nigeria mandated to implement National ICT policy, he Managed execution of strategy which has increased ICT contribution to Nigerian GDP by over 13% in Q2 2018. |

mfm04622: The only thing I took away from this is.......... I wonder how the pay structure of NITDA is to entice employee from CBN! See the bold portions below to understand that he moved from being a junior/middle level Officer in CBN to NITDA as an Aide to a Director in 2017.Two years later, he is made the DG. mmb: He has worked at Galaxy Backbone as Network Engineer, IP Network Field Engineer, Senior Network & Lead, IP Operations Team, and Senior Solution Architect & Lead, Technical Solution Design Team between 2004 to 2013.
In 2014, he joined Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as a Technology Architect, where he dedicated his time to developing Technology Architecture Repository that gives 360 view of the Bank’s IT infrastructure and easy decision on new IT investment. He was part of the team that executed software license rationalization which has increased cost savings for the bank in license annual subscriptions.
Mr Abdullahi was a key resource in the development of IT standards for the apex bank, which has reduced mean time to deploy/integrate new system by over 20%. One of his major achievements as a Technology architect was the production of 7 Solution Architectures for critical IT initiatives that helped in achieving cashless society in Nigeria.
He joined NITDA in 2017 as Technical Assistant to the Director General/CEO. Being the IT regulatory body in Nigeria mandated to implement National ICT policy, he Managed execution of strategy which has increased ICT contribution to Nigerian GDP by over 13% in Q2 2018. You have hit the koko of the matter that is killing our country steadily with the dominance of the Fulanis in Naijeriya. It happens every time with federal ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) as well as companies hence the rot and lack of productivity due to absence of motivation. The saddest part is that nearly all the money being shared and misused is from the south. Was it not recently that Fowler of FIRS was queried by Kyari for not squeezing more money from his fellow southerners Why should we continue together under this arrangement?https://i2.wp.com/www.abusidiqu.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/NIGERIA-Map-of-division.jpg?w=480&ssl=1 |

babzo: Lets see if all the book will make any difference . Tens of thousands of people have been appointed to various positions in government from the local to federal level since 1960; how many have done ANYTHING worth remembering ; any Innovation? The only thing we mostly remember is that they all become richer after stealing billions. Very very few; if any in AN ENTIRE nation. In almost 60 years. The few that come to mind like NAFFACs Dora Akinyuli and EFCCs Ribadu. Impressive points and questions. Thanks. |

That old fool needs to be dealt with soon it is only a matter of time. A matter of time. The fraudulent scammer has gone quiet with all the "advice" he gave to Jonathan and PDP before 2015 Barawo bubu and his co-travellers in the Alliance of Past/Present Criminals, APC have increased fuel price from N87 to N145, exchange rate from N200 to N365 with inflation, extreme poverty, unemployment without any palliative.Maybe some dog got Joe Igbokwe's voice. Subsidy Palliatives: Time To Sack PDP —Joe Igbokwe Thursday, February 23, 2012
Subsidy or no subsidy President Goodluck Jonathan is under obligation to provide palliatives that will ameliorate the suffering of his subjects and there is no argument here about it. The entire business of any government anywhere in the world is all about the welfare of citizens and nothing more.

www.nairaland.com/attachments/4914275_df_jpeg373e55dea7e43f08e80004f94f67a4a7 todaynewsreview: The bodies of at least 74 migrants have been washed ashore in western Libya, in the latest tragedy along the dangerous trafficking route to Europe. The Libyan Red Crescent posted photos of dozens of bodies in black and white bags lined up along the shore near the western city of Zawiya. A spokesman for the aid organisation said there were still bodies floating out at sea as the agency had no way of retrieving them. He said the migrants were all adults, mostly from sub-Saharan African countries, and all but three were men. The UN migration agency, the International Organisation of Migration (IOM), said the dinghy had set off on Saturday with 110 people on board. The agency said traffickers deliberately took the engines from the boat and then abandoned it to drift.
