As developed as Italy, USA and many other countries are, they are still finding it difficult to contain the virus how much more under-developed Nigeria , and yet, the Nigerian govt was quiet to the plea of many Nigerians that all our borders should be closed until the virus is contained. It is when the virus has finally entered the country before the govt decided to listen to the plea of the people. May God continue to protect us from these sort of leaders we have in Nigeria. The health system is moving doctors from other departments to ER cos they are overun. They are graduating final year medical students in Italy without their final exams, this baptism of fire will be their exam.
Where I am, I can't count how many times patients have attempted to beat me up. One came into my face to threaten me, I had to take several steps back. Several Colleagues got involved immediately. The struggle is real #stayhome

The most interesting part of all this is we'll see if presidential assent is necessary for constitutional amendment. It's not since in my opinion because it's passed by veto proof majority. We'll see if Buhari pressures Senate.

I hope this scales through quickly. Most the items of the exclusive list are unnecessary. The federal government should be pragmatic and reduce their burden. Police and prisons should both be put in concurrent list together. Let the states pay to house the inmates.

Moving mining from the exclusive list would include oil and gas. They're both covered by the same section of constitution. Besides the constitutional amendment would never pass without including it.

After 50 years of Independence, the government of the so called disadvantaged regions ought to have done something to address the situation. You cannot continue to spoon-feed a child and expect that same child to grow, mature and be independent. A student from Abia scores 130 in the Federal Commonwealth Entrance exam, yet it's almost impossible to gain admission in the school of his choice, yet another child from Zamfara will score less than 5 and gain same admission seamlessly. How do you encourage such a child that hard work and merit pays?

Look at all the appointments the president has made so far, over 90% from the north. They are telling us they are based on merit. My question is how comes, when it comes to appointment, they are hiding under merit to appoint only their own, but when it comes to exams and admission into Federal institutions, they bring in Federal character. I'm an advocate of merit, hardwork, transparency, objectivity and emperical selection process. That way you encourage everybody to work hard for whatever he/she wants. After all, the Bible says, "he who does not work, let him not eat". It's against natural and spiritual justice and principle to take from those who work and give to those who don't work.

That in itself is the root of corruption Nigeria. I support the President's fight against corruption. I advocate the enthronement of merit and objectivity in our national life. So, Mr. President, if you are serious about your anti-corruption mantra, If you are serious about this your new "merit" policy, let's go back to the basis. Start by eliminating all forms of quota system and federal character in the admission process into Unity schools, Federal universities and recruitment/employment into all federal civil service, agencies, parastatals and let's see who will be qualified. That's my humble submission.
