We want More Nigerians To Get Our visas – China

Source: https://thenationonlineng.net/we-want-more-nigerians-to-get-our-visas-china/amp/

The government of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) on Monday said that it would create more opportunities for more Nigerians to visit China in the years ahead.

Mr. Chu Maoming, Consul General of China in Lagos, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the Consulate and the Chinese Embassy would facilitate visas issuance to more Nigerians.

Maoming said that the signing of the agreement on the Belt and Road Initiative between Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Xi Jingpin was a welcome development for both countries.

“Within the framework of the agreement on the Belt and Road Initiative signed between Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Xi Jinping, there would be more business and trade transaction between China and Nigeria.

“We do know that more Nigerians would be traveling to China, and more of Chinese businesses and investments coming to Nigeria.

“We therefore know that the need to provide more Nigerians with visas is very important.

What we want Nigerians to know is that the process for applying for the Chinese visas is one of the fastest and most convenient,’’ he said.

Maoming said that the Chinese Consulate and Embassy would continue to give preference to Nigerians applying for visas to China for businesses, investments and other purposes.

The Envoy, who expressed the Chinese government’s commitment to strengthening relations with Africa, said that more businesses and investments should be expected in Nigeria from China in the years ahead.

“We are going to be seeing more of Chinese businesses, trade and investments in Nigeria. We would also be seeing more investments from Nigeria in China.

“We are very happy to see the strengthening of our areas of cooperation within the framework of the One Belt and Road Initiative,’’ he said.

TravelCanada: Justin Trudeau Begs Nigerian President Buhari For One Million Immigrants by Anthofrie(op): 12:27pm On Apr 16, 2019
Canada’s Prime Minister begs Nigeria President for one million immigrants
By newsonline - April 14, 2019

The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, has pleaded with Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari, to allow one million Nigerians enter Canada under a new Employment and Migration Programme designed for immigrants.

According to Trudeau, immigrants from Nigeria have been a strong force in Canada’s growth in all sectors of its economy.

“We can’t undermine or overlook the contribution of immigrants in Canada’s development especially our brothers and sisters from Nigeria”, Trudeau said.

The PM added that, over the past three years, Canada has granted residency to all Nigerians who were illegally living in Canada and applied to remain. “We granted them and urging everyone to apply. It’s good we document everyone to know how many people we are to cater for”, he said.

In a memo sent to the Nigeria High Commission in Canada, the Employment and Migration Programme will allow Nigerians wishing to live in Canada to first obtain job before traveling to the country.

“The programme’s website will be launched next week and all available jobs will be listed. Currently there are over 6 million vacancies and we are hoping that Buhari allows at least one million people from Nigeria”, a spokesperson for the Canadian Labour Department, Shadrack Scott said.

Earlier this year, the Canadian Parliament announced plans to add more new permanent residents in the next three years.

Canada welcomed more than 286,000 permanent residents in 2017 and projects that number could reach 350,000 this year in addition to one million seeking from the West Africa nation.

“Thanks in great part to the newcomers we have welcomed throughout our history, Canada has developed into the strong and vibrant country we all enjoy,” said Ahmed Hussen, Canada’s minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC).

Hussen, himself an immigrant from Somalia, said the influx will help offset Canada’s aging population and declining birth rate while growing its labor force.

Canada’s friendly stance towards new residents comes as many other Western nations, including the United States, are adopting more restrictive immigration policies.

Canada is especially dedicated to offering protection to refugees. The United Nations Refugee Agency reported unprecedented levels of refugees in 2017, with the number of forcibly displaced people reaching 68.5 million.
