dre11: Okay.......
That's one aspect I tried impressing on one that happens But, she would always say she doesn't mind him buying the buck things home like the bulk foodstuffs eg bag of rice, beans and the rest But, the aspect of him shopping for tomatoes and stew ingredients is what is not acceptable to her..... Let her just forget about it and make herself happy no matter how uncomfortable she is.It is well. |

Ewuro4: I didn't know such could turn out to be permanent like your story. 50 years you said? It's sad really.
I like cooking for my husband and was raised that way too. It'll be very awkward I mustn't lie so I understand the wife's ordeal. My dear, she has learnt to live with her husband like that. No woman would be happy to be in that situation I must confess, but for peace to reign, one has to just let go. |

dre11: Hum..... I wish it could be easier as you said
Something the lady is never used and she was made to believe that anything that has to do with foodstuffs buying is the responsibility of the woman and she feels the man is intruding into her responsibility by wanting to buy all....
Trying to come in terms with that would be a hard nut, with what the society and friends will be thinking about the arrangements and family I understand.Instead of quarrel, she should just try to ignore the hubby.I know it's not easy. |

Forget about whatever the mother did.Love the child like your own.Treat the child the same way you would want another person to treat your own child. Instead of thinking about who your hubby should love more, focus on how to make your family one. |

My mum's elder sister (my aunt) is in such a situation and has decided to live with the husband like that.My aunt is fifty something, and has been living with the man like that to the extent that when their daughter did introduction in 2010, it was the man that went to market to buy everything. I don't really know if it's because such men are stingy and feel their wives will be stealing money given to them for food that they behave in that manner.
Madam, I think you should just let him be for the sake of the marriage, it's hard to change a man. |

True
Some, is just because of their character. You see a lady in her early 40s going from one house to another gossiping and trying to bring enmity between neighbours, mocks men that approach her just like the one in my former compound. |

I'm my friend, I don't need them cos of what they have done. There's this particular one that couldn't hide herself the night before my wedding. We were all gisting in my room when she pushed me for no just cause.Everybody was surprised, they were just staring at her and she started laughing out of guilt.
I withdrew from her when I discovered we were in a kind of competition. If I buy a new phone, she would buy and be comparing the one that is better even though mine was always higher. If we are discussing, she would make comments like,"na u go private uni oo, pple like us wey go poly" for no reason. I have never insulted her, but there is no day she doesn't insult me all in the name of play. She bought things from me and it took her like 2years to pay.She came bk again, necklace she bought 2years ago, she has refused to pay, not that she doesn't have the money. |
