Boil some water and pour into a bucket or big bowl. You may add silverbird or put mentholatum in the bucket before pouring the water. Sit with your baby beside the bucket and make sure the steam from the boiled water is reaching you both well. Get someone to cover you both with a thick cloth or blanket so the steam doesn't escape. Stay and inhale the steam till drops of sweat starts forming on your faces.

very serious, since 3 months she's been sleeping ALL THROUGH the night, very few times, she might wake up around past 3.30am or 4.00am and she's not going back to sleep. Except during her last immunizations and two other occasion I made some noise while going to pee. And she sleeps by 10pm, 11pm or 12. But Mostly it's 10:00pm to 5:00am
That's what I've been told to expect though, so it didn't seem unique to me. Only that by morning, na my breast go tell me.

It's still peculiar to your baby. It's not the norm for all babies. Up till now at almost 8 months, we still wake severally at night. My baby goes to bed by 7pm and wakes fully around 6am, but wakes severally in between to suck and fall back to sleep. All babies have different styles.

My new strategy now ehn, is to put baby in the middle, on the pretext that she rolls too much. If she's in one corner, she might just sleep on her neck or arm. So make she dey for centre so that when she rolls on anyone of us, we go wake up adjust am

My baby was backed for the first time at 6 days old. I had a very important exam to write so my mum waited for me outside with my baby on her back, and since that day he has never gone a day without having a feel of my back. The only thing is don't spread her legs yet cos her bones aren't strong enough.

At 8 months we are on our 9th angel baby wipes though we use water at home sometimes but this weather ehn I can't use cold water on him because of how many pieces of wipes.

My flask is 4 litres. I boil and keep water in it for this purpose. I also still boil water down inside the biggest pot reserved for baby bath only. We never run out of hot water especially this period that's cold.

Btw I love love this weather. I can be assured of my full night's sleep now, even when AEDC decide to crase. I wish heat would never return..

As for the backing thing yes it is something common in the south west. Mum in law is from the South West in my place we consider it too early that is why I'm feeling somehow. Please what is the implication if she spread out her legs?

I think it has to do with something about her bones not being strong enough yet. Something like that sha. I started backing properly with legs spread out around 3 months

Also, regarding baby wipes for wiping baby poo, I have exhausted 2 packs already in 2weeks please is there something I'm not getting right? I've decided to start washing her bum with warm water when I'm home before any diaper change and then use the wipe when I'm out cos this buhari economy is not smiling hope I'm on track?

Somebody gifted me 4 packs of little angel baby wipes when my baby was a month old. We're approaching 8 months now and I'm still on the 3rd pack. We wash bum with water at home and save the wipes for outdoor use. And my baby has decided to be shy with her poo outside. She poos mostly only when we're home. Infact, I had to start using the wipes at home because it was starting to get too old. Them no dey teach pesin sense for this buhari era o.

For the backing, I hope mil doesn't spread out her legs yet? I don't think it would affect her legs if they are not spread out. In fact, I heard [s] yoruba women can even back their baby from the hospital immediately after giving birth [/s]

I remember one woman telling me that I was giving my baby bow legs by using a carrier that I should be backing her to correct her follow-come bow legs

It might be your diet. Lots of water, oranges and vegetables might help

How many months? The straining might be colic. Try drinking more water if poo looks too strong. How often is the poo?
