What baffles me most is that most Christians today cannot defend the bible the way they defend their religious leaders. Ask them to explain some Biblical teachings to you and you will be surprised at their level knowledge. Some do not even know about some things in the Bible. But just tell them what you think is not good about their Church or Pastor.................. |
EmmySparky:The activation is likely for the enhanced e-passport i.e. the one that requires NIN to process. |

Dave0116:Yes |
One of the characteristics that makes us Nigerians is that we always want to avoid problems. We like to avoid stress. When confronted with problems we should solve, we will always ask for an alternative route. In fact this is the reason we don't have good leaders. If we avoid to solve simple problems in our own lives, how will we be able to solve problems in our children's lives, in our community, in the workplace or in the larger society? What we should know is that these unsolved problems will confront us again in future and by then we may not have enough time to respond. Instead of us to correct the date of birth on our NIN, we will come online to ask for an alternative route and some people will suggest that we process our application in states that does not require NIN. Instead of us to regularise our surname to match our husband's and those of our children, we will come online to ask for those in the same situation and they will tell us they have been travelling without problems. I know that it is not always easy. In fact it is always stressful and comes with some financial burden. But remember that while an alternative route may be available today, you may not have enough time to respond in future. When confronted with problems, let us endeavour to solve them as soon as possible. |
michaelcipher:Telling us the name of the 2 forms you itemized in number one above will really help a lot of people here. |
Dips04:Write a formal letter. State your reasons for renewal e.g., expired, lost, change of data etc. There is no specific format. Just write in your own words. |
opelinho:Take it along. You are better prepared. |
milkay:They would probably ask during capturing if you would love to correct any thing. Even if they do not ask, tell them about it. |
tellsblinks:Yes, they are the same thing. It is called epassport. |
tellsblinks:Yes of course. What you will get is epassport. |
EbonyCy:Read previous pages. The question has been answered many times. Or rather visit portal.immigration.gov.ng, then select application guideline under Passport. |
Ivymich:Yes, photocopy |
shawnmich:I did DIY. Thanks, please let me know when you do. |
shawnmich:I also applied for correction on my driver's license. Please any update on it because it is taking forever. |
hpymoment:The problem is more with applicants than with the immigration officials. Nigerians are far too desperate. Some of these immigration officials are not even as educated as the people they extort. But our people will not read and follow updates. Once they have money to pay, any other alternative is a long thing. |
Mizjemie25:Yes, it is the guarantor. |
Mizjemie25:Meaning he/she should write his/her full name and then append his/her signature. |
chizzily:You can't use age declaration as you were born after 1992 A guarantor's age doesn't matter |

highra:There is a Whatsapp group for Education students. |
hefelove:This is a relatively easier case than fresh application. I think you can apply for renewal within 6 months before expiry. You can approach other offices and find out if booklets are available. Mind you, some of the officers are not always truthful. Be sure to make your findings at servicom or from 2 or more offices. |
I want to say a very big THANK YOU to all those who have contributed to this thread. Without this thread, I probably wouldn't have gone the DIY way and would have probably be swindled of money and/or may have had my application frustrated. I applied for 32 pages on Dec. 3, 2020 and collected it on Apr. 7, 2021. Though unknown to me, it was ready since Jan. 18, 2021. So I want to contribute to this thread by giving the following suggestions: 1) DIY works and is the best way to go. 2) Enquire about the Passport Office to process your application as not all are DIY friendly. 3) If possible, during all your visits dress formally. This will command some level of respect. Also, speak respectfully and with confidence. Greet Officers first and with confidence. 4) Proceed to the Passport Office to enquire about the booklet type available. 5) Ensure you have all required documents including the guarantor form completely filled and endorsed before proceeding to the Passport Office. 6) On getting to the Passport Office, ask for Servicom. If you are asked for your purpose of visit, say to process your application. If you are asked who you want to see there, say any officer available. 7) On getting to servicom, make your purpose known in a very polite way and follow any advice they offer after checking your documents. If you have any complaints during any of your visits, make it known without disrespecting anyone and without showing attitude.9) Compliment any act of assistance and even if people are doing their normal work for which they are paid. People always remember those who show gratitude and will be willing and ready to help them in future. You can always improvise any of the above as they are only suggestions. |

If you have any complaints during any of your visits, make it known without disrespecting anyone and without showing attitude.
