Benin has a monarchical system hence the autonomy to avoid clash of interest but in nigeria I guess the monarchy is not too strong because the lack autonomy. I wonder why the prefer Nigeria to ROB

Monarchial societies breed subservient people.

That's your answer there.

Just consider how different in outlook an average bini man is to other Niger Deltan peoples (apart from Itsekiris).

Politics / The Real Reason Behind El Zackzacky's Woes by APCLyingBastard: 12:45pm On Aug 13, 2019
The Shiite procession in Kaduna where his sons and scores of Shia members were killed was carried out by a rogue army officer in a clandestine operation in tandem with APC members to instigate wide-spread ethno-religious riots in the north.

This was one too many deliberate instigating acts by the APC one of which was the gun attack on Moslem worshippers in Kano central mosque, which Sanusi somehow did not attend the Jama'at service.

Goodluck apologised to the man personally and explained the DSS intelligence report to him.

In 2014, the APC repeated same nonsense with a fake attack on Buhari's convoy which they hoped will lead to carnage. Then Marilyn Ogar of the DSS put the facts on ground to both Buhari and the APC from where the matter was never used in their campaign of hate.

Again, they targeted the same Shiite annual procession March in 2014 to which they used their Boko Haram suicide bombers.

El Zackzacky came out to state categorically that he knew who was behind the attacks.

El Zackzacky then dropped his support for APC and Buhari and from that moment he became a marked man for knowing too much!

El Zackzacky knows very well those behind the Boko Haram menace from personal experience.

Or have you forgotten how El Rufai used the massacre in Zaria where El Zackzacky's sons where killed to label Jonathan as genocidal in one of his twits?

Even civilians were hounded and branded as saboteurs or 'sabo,' most times without any just cause. Especially those from minority groups.... cry

Ojukwu was a charismatic individual but not in any form a good commander and leader.

He became very paranoid during the course of the war but we can't blame him totally because there were too many Marxists within the Biafran ranks who were against Biafran indepence chief of which was Ifeanjua.

As for the minorities, the Igbos h cause to worry about their loyalty because the advancung Federal forces played a game of hearts and minds when they occupied those areas by pampering them with food, medicine and retuning life back to normal. But this stopped when the federal forces took over any Igbo area as the policy was to bring in the Gwodo-Gwodo Chadian jihadist to kill and rape to their hearts desire.

You should also factor one very important fact and that is the Biafran declaration did not consider the views and opinions of the minority tribes in eastern Nigeria.

The minorities had no need to fight for what they saw as an Igbo war. After all the Igbos did suppress the Adaka Boro Ijaw insurgency towards seccesion, Igbo "dominance" also saw Western Cameroun plebiscite and Enugu which replaced the more historic and economical relevant Calabar as an Igbo plot to further concentrate power to themselves. This is akin to how we southerners cry over Abuja and Fulani dominance of governance.

We've all read and heard of the ingenuity of the Biafran scientists and engineers in reeling out weapons from scrap.

They built not only rocket launchers, tanks, APCs and fabricated spare parts for aircrafts but also developed their own technology to drill and refine crude oil.

Now contrast with that of the Nigerian Federal forces who had at their disposal huge mineral resources from iron Ore and what not and suffering no blockade but depended solely on imported weapons and expertise from across the world.

Would the situation of relying solely on imported weaponry by the Nigerian Army had been the case if they had absorbed those brilliant Biafran scientists and engineers?

"Operation Paper Clip" was carried out during the dying moment of Nazi Germany by both the American and Russians to absorb Germany scientists. The US and Russian space program won't have been successful without the inputs of brilliant German scientists who invented the V2 rockets and jet propulsion engines.

Japanese scientist were also absorbed by the US in their work on biological and chemical weapons.

Was absolute niggery behind the Nigerian reason to destroy and bury all scientific and engineering breakthroughs by the Biafrans?

Operation “Zaki”

Zaki is the Hausa word for Lion. This was the alleged Igbo inspired ethnic cleansing operation against the North to follow-up ‘Operation Kura’ in 1966. The existence of such an operation has never been independently confirmed. Nevertheless such propaganda was widely disseminated in certain northern circles and may well have been believed.

"Shore Battery’

Biafran home-made weapon system. It was a combination of many different weapons including Ogbunigwe, conventional bombs, rockets etc. set up together for mass effect, electronically connected in series along coastlines and detonated in predetermined sequences. The idea was to make casualty evacuation, retreat and tactical dispersal extremely hazardous from secondary detonations.

Nigerian nickname for the Spanish CETME automatic rifle – a variant of the Gewehr 3

(G3) German rifle. [Shettima is a real northern name, particularly in the northeast among the Kanuri. It appears its phonologic similarity to CETME led to its adoption as the local name of that rifle].

"S” Brigade

“S” stood for “Special”. It was a Brigade originally conceived as a personal protection force for Biafran leader Ojukwu, with direct reporting relationship to him, outside Biafran Army control.

This created a lot of envy and operational problems.

"Sabo”

Nickname for “saboteur”, a common Biafran tendency, encouraged by the Ojukwu regime, to refer to any Biafran commander who lost a battle to federal forces irrespective of the odds. Virtually all senior Biafran commanders (except General Odumegwu Ojukwu) were branded saboteurs at one point or another. The custom began after the disastrous withdrawal of the Biafran 101 Division from its ill-fated Midwest campaign of 1967.

"ROB”

Biafran pneumonic for “Republic of Benin”, the republic declared in the Midwest State on September 20, 1967 by Major Albert Okonkwo, acting on behalf of Ojukwu. It was a last ditch effort to win support from the minority ethnic groups in that State by purporting to change its “status” as Biafran “Occupied Territory” to one of an independent nation. Less than 24 hours later the “ROB” collapsed when federal troops took Benin City, its capital.

The 101 Division, which originally invaded the State under Colonel Banjo on August 9, 1967, was later renamed the “ROB” Division. Under Colonel Achuzia, it carried out numerous raids into the Midwest in 1968 and 1969 from across the River Niger
