Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo has vowed to kill the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

Dokubo said that the struggle for the actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra has been compromised by the IPOB leader. In a video he shared on Facebook on Wednesday morning, he wondered why Kanu is running instead of facing the Nigerian Government squarely.He also called out Kanu for alleged killing Prophet Anthony Nwoko, insisting he has not killed anyone before, even as a Muslim.In his words, “our fellow Biafrans, in this period of darkness, a few people have decided to thrash our struggle in the blood of our own people. So that they will become Supreme leaders, saviours and messiahs.We didn’t see the red flag, the signals were always there but some people saw it before us. But because we believed that Biafra must be achieved with any means possible, we did not see these dangerous signals early enough.He then went on to say, 'Nnamdi Kanu, i will kill you, mark my words, because in this killing business ooo I am a professional o”.Asari, still talking about the assassination of Biafra Prophet, Nwoko, said it was wrong for the Biafran struggle to be turned into bloodshed. A Petition filed by Atiku Abubakar before the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja against the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Buhari and the APC, tends to state that he defeated Buhari.

On February 27, 2019, INEC announced that Buhari of the APC won the election with 15, 191 , 847 against Atiku of the PDP whom it said polled 11, 262 , 978 votes .However, the 139-page petition shows that “from the data in the 1 st respondent ’ s ( INEC ’ s) server … the true , actual and correct results ” from “state to state computation” showed that the PDP presidential candidate polled a total of 18, 356 , 732 votes to defeat Buhari whom they said scored 16, 741 , 430 votes.The petition shows that the PDP presidential candidate defeated Buhari with 1 , 615 , 302 votes which doesn’t include Rivers State.

King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia has congratulated President Buhari on his re-election for a new presidential term.

a telephone conversation with President Buhari on Thursday, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques wished the Nigerian President success and good health in his second term in office.


The Saudi King extended good wishes of steady progress and prosperity to the government and people of Nigeria. President Buhari expressed appreciation to the King, affirming his readiness to enhance aspects of cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

Also, the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani sent a cable of congratulations to President Buhari on his re-election, wishing the Nigerian President success and the Nigerian people further development and progress.

Russian Ambassador to Nigeria, Alexey Shebarshin, also sent a congratulatory message, saying:

Doyin Okupe has reveals that Senate President Bukola Saraki contributed to the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari more than Bola Tinubu.

Doyin Okupe who is a former presidential spokesperson, who made this known in a statement on Sunday, titled, “How Lai Mohammed betrayed Saraki”.


According to him, the Senate President was betrayed despite other stakeholders in the coalition agreeing to make him Senate President when Buhari becomes president.

“Prior to the establishment of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, certain agreements were reached with principal stakeholders.

“Saraki was among the major stakeholders, being the single individual that raised the highest donation to the Buhari/All Progressives Congress campaign, far in excess of (what) Asiwaju (Bola) Tinubu or (Rotimi) Amaechi or anyone for that matter, (donated).

“Saraki was promised the post of Senate President and two ministerial slots.

“After May 29, 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari called Saraki and apologised that he could only have one ministerial slot instead of the two previously agreed.

“Saraki, most reluctantly, but in deference to the President, conceded.

“Shortly afterwards, the President requested for another political favour from Saraki. This time, he wanted Saraki’s consent to use the remaining one ministerial slot allocated to him (Saraki) to appoint Lai Mohammed as minister.

“This was a gruesome blow to Saraki who questioned why the President could not ask Asiwaju (Tinubu) to accommodate Lai Mohammed in his own slot.

“The President confirmed to Saraki that Asiwaju had blatantly refused to do so. A thoroughly perplexed Saraki could only plead with the president to allow him go back home in Kwara State and find the best way to break this heart-shattering news to members of his political family.



“It was an unimaginable scenario. It took more than sagacity and political dexterity for the request of the President to be accepted but for the grace and very long lasting bonded relationship for the Saraki camp not to break up for this singular development.

“Lai Mohammed was summoned by the elders of the group, including Alhaji Kawu Baraje and former Governor Shaba Lafiaji and others.

“Lai Mohammed wept profusely, severally rolling on bare floor and swearing on every sacred institution and object of faith.

“The elders told him point blank that they did not trust him but that they were doing this for God, the President and interest of their leader, Bukola Saraki.
“Today, Lai Mohammed is the leader of a movement planning to unseat Saraki and destroy him politically.”

President Buahri and Adams Oshiomhole, was booed and stoned at the APC campaign rally in Abeokuta, Ogun State yesterday.

ASUU suspends nationwide strike
The Academic Staff Union of Universities has suspended its three-month old strike. The leadership of the academic union have also been asked to resume on Friday February 8th.

National President of the union, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, announced this on Thursday February 7th during a press briefing at the Nigeria Labour Congress complex in Abuja.

The striking lecturers took the decision after a meeting with representatives of the Federal Government led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige.

ASUU began the strike in November 2018.
