Eight Major Factors To Consider When Purchasing A Domain Name For Your Blog or Website

A domain name is an identification string that defines a realm of administrative autonomy, authority or control within the Internet.

These are the things to consider before buying a domain name


1. Go for a Top level domain name
Make sure the domain name you are buying is a top level one e.g. .com .ng .org e.t.c.
Just make sure it is very easy for your users to remember.


2. Avoid buying a contradicting domain name
For example, your website niche is on sports, you are now in need of a domain name and you buy .edu.ng extension, SO CONTRADICTING!!!
Always know that your guests and members will be the one looking for admission or other sort of education aspirants and they will bounce back when they see your
Posts mainly on sports.


3. Check if the domain is not existing
The perfect way to do this is to go to any domain registrar website and type the domain name, to know if it had been choosen or not, don't rely on that only, type
the url on search engines too and see if it already existed before you totally conclude.

Some webmasters are scammers, they will close their website for a while and when it had been sold to you, they retrieve it back again
when you gain much traffic.


4. Avoid too long domain name
For example, you want to buy a domain name for a website with music niche and you name it:
plentynaijamusicishere,com
That is wrong, go for a domain name that will be easy for everyone to remember.
It is not compulsory the domain is 6 or less letters word, but make sure it is easy to remember (either long or short) and also dont let it be too long.


5. Don't advertise your unpurchased domain name
Don't go to forums and ask for opinions on the new domain you want to purchase, before you
wake up the next day, it would have been purchased by a hungry scammer, you will have to pay them before they sell it to you and the money will be beyond your plan.


6. Avoid replacing words with letter
If you buy a domain name and make it 9jamusic,com instead of naijamusic,com if the second person with that naijamusic,com is your competitor, he can wipe you away within days, your visitor may just mistype that 9ja to
naija and fall for naijamusic,com immediately.
This always happen when people get to know your website name from the voice tag u put in a music.


7. Avoid going for a plural domain name
Buying a plural domain name which singular is already existing is very risky.
Adding s to the back of your domain name is very risky.
For Example, nairaland,com is already in existence, you then buy a domain nairalands,com, people will always/easily remember Nairaland and forget Nairalands except devoted visitors which are scarce and will be minimum.


8. Make Sure the domain registrar you want to
use are reputable and reliable
There are some hungry registrars, hunger lead them to domain business, if you fall for such
registrar, your money is waisted, search thoroughly about the hoster you wish to use and their years of service before buying from them.

WordPress does provide a default comments system. However, many people find the default comments to be limited and hard to manage.

I've seen a lot of WordPress sites move to Facebook comments so that they can provide a better alternative. 

In this post, I'm going to show you how to run Facebook comments on your WordPress site.

Step #1. Install the Facebook Comments plugin
[*] Login to your WordPress site.
[*] Go to Plugins > Add new and search for "Facebook Comments".
[*] Click "Install Now" and activate the plugin

Step #2. Create a Facebook App ID
[*] Go to the Facebook Developers page.
[*] Click "Add a new app".
[*] Choose "Website".
[*] Type in a custom name for the app.
[*] Click "Create new Facebook app ID".
[*] Choose a Category, which in my case is "Apps for pages".
[*] Click "Create App ID".

Your app ID is almost ready!
In the next page, you will see a bunch of code. Look for the "appId" reference and copy its value without the quotation marks. This will be the ID to use in the next step.

[*] Scroll down and type the URL of your WordPress site.
[*] Then, click "Next" to finish this part.

Step #3. Add Facebook App ID to your WordPress site
Go back to your site's dashboard.
[*] Settings
[*] Facebook comments
[*] Type in the App ID from the previous step.
[*] Scroll down to click the "Save changes" button.

Step #4. End result
Visit one of your posts to confirm the Facebook comments plugin is indeed working!!!

With this current setup, your site now allows you to post Facebook comments, but also the regular WordPress comments below.

There are many methods available on the net for repairing the corrupted memory card but my favorite method is using cmd.

It is the best method according to me which has repair many of my memory cards as well as pendrives.

There are many softwares available on the net which can repair memory card and pendrive but will be off trial period which will as for the purchase in the future or it will b a fake software.

But This method which I'm going to tell you does not require any software download, we will just use a cmd to do our process and once our process gets over our corrupted memory card or pendrive will start working correctly.

Carefully Check out the Processes and do the same as said Step by Step

REQUIREMENTS/THINGSNEEDS:

1.PC

2.OS[WIN7 OR XP]

3.CARD READER

4.CORRUPTED MEMORY CARD

Step 1 - Open cmd (not in Admin mode.press 'star+R' and type 'cmd')

Step 2 - Now type
diskpart
and press enter

Step 3 - A new diskpart cmd window will appear we have to work on this window
Step 4 - Now on this window type
list disk
and press enter.

After you press enter it will show all the harddisks and external storage devices connected to the pc select the external storage device connect ie. the corrupted memory card or pendrive you will know this device by just seeing the size of the disk mostly Disk 1 is the external storage device.

Step 5 - Now type
select disk 1
and press enter

Step 6 - Now type
clean
and press enter

Step 7 - Now type
create partition primary
and press enter

Step 8 - Now type
active
and press enter

Step 9 - Now type
select partition 1
and press enter

Step 10 - Now type
format fs=fat32
and press enter After pressing enter the formating will start let the format to get completed

Step 11 - After the completion of the formatting process type exit and press enter which will exit the window.

That's it. Your memory card or pendrive, It will start working properly. Check this out to see that its now working by transferring files into it.

I use yoast a lot for my blog, so it was a wonder when I just update to 3.2.4 only to get an update to 3.2.5 the next day.

Was wondering why an update so quickly. At least now I know.

One of our security researchers, Panagiotis Vagenas, discovered a vulnerability in Yoast SEO version 3.2.4and earlier that allows any user with ‘subscriber’ level access to download your Yoast SEO settings. For sites that have open registration, this means that anyone can register and download your Yoast SEO settings by simply creating an account and running the exploit.

We reported this vulnerability to Yoast Tuesday May 3rd and their team has released a fix today, Friday May 6th. We recommend that you upgrade immediately if you are using Yoast SEO. This vulnerability is fixed in Yoast SEO version 3.2.5.

You have been protected against this vulnerability being exploited from the moment we notified the plugin author which was on Tuesday. We released a firewall rule via the Threat Defense Feed on Tuesday that is already protecting your site. This is per our standard disclosure procedure. See below for details.

Details of the Vulnerability
Yoast SEO plugin has a Sensitive Data Exposure vulnerability. Plugin registers the following AJAX actions:

wpseo_export
get_focus_keyword_usage
get_term_keyword_usage

These actions are privileged therefore are available only to registered users, but no special capabilities are required to perform them. Any user with a valid account to the target website can exploit those actions to get information about Yoast SEO settings and post metadata relative to focus and terms keywords.

This kind of information should be available only to users with administrative capabilities. To be more precise, to users that have the manage_options capability, because the plugin’s option pages require this capability by default.

We will not be releasing an exploit proof of concept at this stage but we shared a PoC with the Yoast team on Tuesday to help them confirm and fix the vulnerability.

Conclusion: if you are using Yoast SEO Plugin, please kindly Update to the Latest Version.
