Firstly, I think you have a problem with comprehension. Nobody is trying to ridicule 5 years of whatever. That doesn't concern me one bit. Secondly, your idea of truth is very flawed. Just because you have your opinion on something doesn't make it true. But I would leave you in your high horse. Thirdly, I suggested speaking to both successful and unsuccessful candidates ( again, comprehension problems) and the reason is because many a time, speaking for myself now, if I have an interview I'm unfamiliar or scared about, I go to the area or environment and get familiar with it. Ask questions. And it has helped me a lot. Fourthly, everything I was trying to say in a nutshell is a lot of scary negative pictures have been painted about what the US visa application process should be like and this has instilled fear in a lot, therefore dropping their confidence and making them fail in return. Its just an interview. Not the end. But like I said, you don't read to understand. You read to reply that's why you are feeling personally attacked. Even though I don't know why. You are not a VO and you can't calculate anybody's chances, you can only advice according to your experience. Nothing more. Well done for the job you do o. But also know that you can be taught. Lol. Just how many wives do you think you can handle Oga? You are funny o. Very funny. Anyway, the only way to know is to try. I don't advice anyone to lie o. But saying you want to go and meet your fiancée or gf or cultural exchange friend when you have wives just sounds like a joke even to me, not to talk of a VO. So know how you would present your case and try your luck. All the best.

First things first, I just want to point out a lot of misinterpretation on this thread. OK maybe not misinterpretation but negative vibes. Listen, a visa interview is just that. An interview. It is not the world coming to an end. Unless you see America as heaven anyway, but its not the end. Because of the scare a lot of people get here before they go to the embassy, they lose their confidence and end up not getting the visa.
Me I've not even gone for my own.
But after a lot of comparisons here and outside. Asked questions here and outside. I realised, people really get scared when they come here and read all the stories about how a visa interview should go or should be.
Get your documents right.
Get everything right. Practice questions and answers before going. But don't lose it. Kpata-kpata dey would say no. But be confident. The visa interview would not even last up to 15minutes tops. I advice anyone planning to travel to not just depend on NL for information. Ask people outside[/i]too. If you are in lag or abj, one day just stroll down to the embassy and interview some successful applicants. Interview the unsuccessful ones too and know your bearing. But just know that no one here can determine your chances of getting the visa. And they can only answer your questions based on their [i]experience They are not VOs. So always research thoroughly before going.

so ive taken time to read through this thread again and again and each time, fear would just be catching me. is it that single people between the ages of 22 - 30 cant get visas just because they are not married? or dont have strong ties? plus what strong ties do you guys mean? because the only tie me i have is my job. doesn't pay much but its fulfilling. so how can one now convince the VO that you do not intend to stay in their precious America and is just going for a genuine purpose.
Me kukuma dont like America before somebody would shoot me in my sleep. But i need genuine info on what kind of ties a single lady like me can claim to have that would prove i would actually return.

Hmm, well we've not applied yet. lets judt hope your views would be wrong. We were even thinking he would have a better opportunity since he's a student in one of the government universities so he has stronger ties. My dad may just sponsor the entire trip for the whole family but we just wanted to calculate our chances since we were all playing a role at the wedding. guess we'd just hope and pray for the best

Good that's legal and it's a straight visa for your parent but you should sponsor your trip and for the children above 16yrs you will have to defend yourself. it will be very hard for the children especially with no travel history.

Hey guys. just stumbled on this thread. so i have a couple of questions. I intend to visit the US with my family this August. My elder sister is a US resident, she is getting married and she has sent all our IVs. I intend to go with my Mum (who is a teacher) my dad (who is retired from an oil company and currently has a business) my younger sister (who is a nurse here) my brother (who is a student in one of the universities in Nigeria) and myself ( i work as a secretary).
1) we have no travel history. what are our chances
2) we intend to use an agent. is der any need or is this something we can do ourselves
3) My sister is the one sponsoring or flight tickets and accommodation, do we need to provide proof of that?
4) with all dez in place, is der any other thing we are missing? if yes, what
5) my younger sis applied for a uk visa sometime last year and was denied, would she have to state that also?

Hey guys. OK. Straight to the point, this is my problem. I have a bachelor's degree in public health from Madonna University. Graduated with a 2:1. I have MOOC certifications in Nutrition. I have HSE 1-3 certifications and I know I'm a very bright person. But I'm jobless. I don't understand if its the course I read or if its just me.

So I'm asking, what can I really do with a bachelor's degree in Public Health? I really can't go for my MPH right now due to financial reasons. I'm really lost because I don't really understand what I'm supposed to be doing. Nigeria doesn't particularly have a place for me to fit in or is it just me that is searching the wrong places? I've graduated from school since 2014. Searched high and low for a job that is closely related to my field but all my efforts have been futile. Does it mean that there's no hope for a Bsc Public Health holder or can't I become something relevant without an MPH?
