Pocohontasboo: 5th attempt and medicine seems not to fall in place, for the sixth attempt next year I'm tightening my lace, all these years wasted shall not be in vain, no no I have to absorb the pain... OK OK enough of the rhymes.... I need someone to guide me, one last attempt before I stop chasing, so my o level Maths C5 English C6 Bio B3 Chemistry B2 PHYSICS C6(so too many Cs)(The school I plan to go for actually uses a 50% score for olevel, no post utme) , so I actually was thinking of sitting for waec GCE Jan/Feb to correct the anomalies (Cs), so I have Been reading lately for the GCE and UTME, but you know preparation for utme is not same with waec(you have to store lots of information) and this is slowing me down..... So my question now is should I just leave the Idea of writing waec GCE and focus on utme and select a school uses post utme $ jamb for aggregate Na you be the medicine o. Why not do IJMB first den get in 200l? Abi those ones don't work for medicine? |

After I was done with high school in 2015 I got admitted to a private uni the following year. It happened that I was not given my desired course coupled with other reasons i had to change. Then last year I applied for a US student visa. The first one was weird considering that I was hardly asked any question and those that went before me(long line oh)got refused aside like 3 people which were of old age. Then the second interview this year January went well but I was given a wrong bank statement. It was quite frustrating but didn’t let it stop me from applying for a Canadian trv. Then d following month I proceeded to submit my application at Lagos vfs. Then first week of April I got my medical request which I did at IOM. After which I checked my account some days later and saw medical passed. Then I got my correspondence on the 23rd. I was thinking I’d get my approval d next day oh but it was still processing and my Uni was to resume in May, so I just decided to give them a week. After no reply i sent emails to Kenya and Lagos telling them I’ll soon resume and pleaded to them for an update. Then on d 7th of May I got an email saying they have finalised my application. I logged in straight and saw final decision has been updated to approved with my counterfoil details below. I was really happy. Then some hours later I got an email from vfs that my passport is ready for collection. I was surprised cause I thought it’ll take some days. I went there this morning with my mom and picked it up in a sealed brown envelope. Opened it and d first thing I saw was d page which my visa was issued on. I just put my trust in God from the beginning and prayed over it with my mom(God bless her) and God answered our Prayers.
I didn’t know about this thread on nairaland till like 2 weeks after I submitted. Seeing d documents some submitted and I was like what?? I just knew i had all d CIC documents on d website, the financial documents my mom listed out,my educational documents and d sop which my sister recommended. I wasn’t able to link my application online for about 5 weeks after trying severally. It really bothered me but I just tried to keep calm. I messaged CIC and Kenya. Got replies from them but it wasn’t d answer tho. Not so long after that my medical mail came in with my app number and UCI which I used to link my profile online. Not to mention in my sop I didn’t explain d study gap(Don’t try it oh)cause I didn’t know how I’d explain it well to the VO in a way that won’t end up complicating things(had it typed down already a night before submission)so I just decided to leave it out but made sure I listed out what I did after high school in my study permit questionnaire(Attached a letter from where I was taking my computer courses). After my Medicals was passed I just had more faith that it will end in praise and thankfully it did. Like I said before I just prayed over and over. With God all things r possible!
Will be Travelling to British Columbia this week.
To all trv hopefuls I hope God will see you through. |

Please I want to ask, who pays for the research. For example, I'm going for a Msc thesis based course. When its time to do my research, who would foot the bills, me or my supervisor or the school? Mind you, the research fees are different from tuition fees. |

Kinfinity007: Plz house I need help, while most of your problems are getting a visa approval, others have a primary problem that is killing them. This is a problem of contacting supervisors from various universities in Canada without getting any response, some say their research group is full. I studied Chemistry and graduated with a 2:1 result. I ve even tried some programs that are related to my course but still no way. I think the only option left is to find an agent. But if you guys have a better advice, I am open to take it Agents won't give you supervisor. As I'm here, I've emailed over 20 supervisors. Some would even be kind enough to tell you dey are not accepting. Others won't reply at all. You just have to keep trying |

Naajjii: It won't be difficult, if you meet the the addmission requirements of the school you will get it. And make sure the course you will be going for align with your job or undergraduate course to show career progression , this will enhance your chances of visa approval. Do research yourself , contact the schools and also take your time to go through this thread right from the past to see how alot of people were successful and also how alot failed to be properly guided. You got to be careful with agents, some will just mislead you. Thanks jare |

Guys, does the length of period after graduation really matter that much? I graduated in 2014, went for service 2015-2016 been working for 2 years and some of these agents are telling me it would be difficult to get a masters admission in a Canadian uni. Even with my 2:1 o! Abeg make una help me reason the matter wella abeg |
