These things have been happening long before the advent of social media.
I used to know one Lady in the early 90s who uses her son's face to scrub the floor.

One fed her housemaid her Child's Feces.
The Social Media only made it conspicuous.

If the good hearted Igbo women don't speak up against this and organize referred madness against these hyenas, this will erroneously be moved from an acquired problem to an innate issue

I think this is largely due to the smaller pool of Nigerian women available to Nigerian men living abroad.

In Nigeria, there are plenty of women to choose from, and you often have more opportunities to research their family ties, background, and upbringing before deciding to marry them.

Abroad, the pool of Nigerian women is much smaller, so some men end up marrying whoever they meet, sometimes without doing enough background checks

Look at some of the women who travel through Libya to Europe. Some end up engaging in prostitution, yet some Nigerian men still marry them.

You also see Nigerian men marrying white women who, in their view, may not be considered attractive even by some white men.

I think the limited pool of potential partners abroad influences the choices some Nigerian men make when it comes to marriage.
