Citizen's arrests carry risks. If the person making the arrest uses excessive force or if the arrest is made without reasonable grounds, they could face legal consequences.

It seems you are not aware of citizens arrest before police become involved when a crime has been committed.

You quote a law you know nothing about. Who issued the arrest warrant that citizens wants to enforce? They held a customer hostage because she attempted to remove fire extinguisher! Not because she had removed it or damaged the plane.

Even if she did all of those, has police complained to Ibom of their inability to trace her or bring her to book when reported? Have you ever heard Police request for an assistance beyond notification?

Removing fire extinguisher could be in self defense, could be for traction against forced removal. That damage is not punishable by kidnap, assault, stripping, filming the torture of a customer by a gang of employees of a service provider.

Assault is not an appropriate response to unruliness. That customer was dangerously dragged to the ground and stripped naked in the process.

Passenger might be guilty of unruliness but Ibom is guilty of unprofessionalism, battery, assault and definitely took laws into their own hands.

Without hearing the lady's account, This Ibom' s publication is foolish. When a passenger is unruly, another passenger is not supposed to put her in check by attacking her. Ibom crew should be in full control of the situation at all times. They should have delayed and evicted the errant customer through Police force, not by themselves or 3rd party customer.

Ibom definitely should be fined and sued for damages.
