The Glo situation is a national concern.

Mike can start by eschewing unethical practices (eg. Deducting borrowed credit balance to settle airtime borrowings

He should as a matter of urgency improve network infrastructure

He doesn't have to own the company 100%. Even Dangote and MTN are listed on NSE.

Government should intervene in form of Dangote refinery protection even if it is inform of subsidy of tax waivers.

It's complicated.
Where he sits, his level of activity, where does he go at break times for instance? Does he join his ex- colleagues to pray behind the altar, does he go into his vehicle or does he just sit behind the auditorium?
Would he be afforded concentration to worship by the distraction of his presence?

My personal perspective: You can be retired from a ministry but not the calling of God. At that point your steps are exclusively ordered by your new Master, Jesus. The decision to attend Shiloh at that point is the consideration of Jesus' new assignment, not the retired one.

In all only Abioye would know the countenance of the top echelon of Winners Ministry about attending this year's Shiloh, Only him too would know God's direction about it.

PoliticsRe: Tax Reform Bills: RMAFC Opposes Proposed VAT Sharing Formula by Aprocco: 6:49am On Dec 11, 2024
CodeTemplar:
The RMAFC man is obviously an ignoramus or tribal legend at best, parading as in intellectual. That it is called a consumption tax doesn't mean it is meant to serve the consumer or go to the consumer directly in anyway. It can still be collected at value addition location and reshared in Abuja, which is what Tinubu has done here. Let the ignoramus tell us who collects the VAT for good consumed outside Nigeria but within ECOWAS if the tax is for the consumer as they assume here.

It is a tax that should compensate whoever shoulders the burden of production or value-addition. It will be harsh to allow Lagos poach investors, create enabling environment, lost their land, culture, values to foreigners, suffer environmental degradation, provide supporting infrastructure like road, power, security and more, then you treat them equal with where the good are consumed because the textbook says VAT is a consumption (based) tax. It is collected from the consumer for consuming the value added unto the raw input but never meant for the consumer or her location.

It is like saying tolls collected in Kano for a road should go to Lagos or Rivers because the final destination of some of the passengers include Lagos and Rivers. The road is a service and is provided by Kano so why reward the destination of the passenger? What about passengers who end up in Ghana or Cameroon?

If we use this logic of the foolish and greedy RMAFC boss, states may be forced to collect it forcefully like that of a tolled road that serves interstate traffic and there will be chaos and rip offs because they will charge far higher than the flat rate FG is enforcing.

VAT is best managed centrally and redistributed to whoever is absorbing the impact of the value-addition within the value-addition chain accordingly. If nigeria must grow to become a hub where thing are manufactured and sold all over west Africa, this bill is good for rewarding value-adding states.

Can you please advise me on the status of the four NNPC refineries? In 2021, the Buhari government spent over $4 billion to fix all four refineries. Mele Kyari swore on TV that the refineries would be ready in 2023. Where are the government-owned refineries today?

We need to hold this government to account. If the country borrows limited FX to import PMS, that will impact the local economy. If you don't want the so called dangote monopoly get the local refineries working now
Consumer/ Deregulated Market is not overly concerned about the source, 4 Refineries or Dangote Refinery. All the Market is interested about is who can supply cheapest compliant product.

If 4 Refineries and Dangote end up producing at a cost higher than imported products, the Refineries would either have to seek more concessions in waiver, duties or tariffs to beat Importation or find an export market for their products.

Why should life/ business and wellbeing of poorest 200,000,000 people on the face of the earth be strained beyond limit to promote profit objectives of a Capitalist.

Mumu Dangote and Marketers can not be classified as competitors .... cos dangote is a producer with overhead cost while the useless marketer are retailers note the difference
NDMPRA said dangote fuel is inferior and marketer claim dangote fuel is expensive and you think dangote is not justified to react or respond.
In 2022, an adulterated fuel was imported and it went unnnoticed, what does that tell you about our regulatory body

IF Dangote is not the one sabotaging our refineries or does he has power to forbid any investor from building another refineries .. how exactly does he plan to achieve Monopoly 🤣 the marketers crying know Nigerians are very gullible, if you want to push Nigeria against Atiku cite "corruption" and if you want to turn Nigerians against dangote just shout Monopoly .. people throw away there senses

Dangote is prvy of All cost, he knows the only way any one can sell fuel cheaper than is price is to bring in substandard or lower quality .. which is no brainer

MuMu use your brain, how can dangote Monopolized the oil sector Refinery license is open to All investor

If Nnpc fix our four Refineries will Dangote issue directive to stop it or what ... sey una no dey think nii citing monopoly like school dropout.

Dangote has lots of enemies should we stop importation fully, other local refineries will spring up cos they must fight dangote ... that were Nigerians stand to gain
You are arguing beyond your intellectual capacity. Masking your ignorance with insults.

Free Trade Zone are not under Nigerian law except on trade terms with Nigeria.
Both Dangote refinery and Marketers allowed by PIA are suppliers of petroleum products that's why they are competing to sell to Nigerians.

Whether by fixing refineries or by importation, Deregulation implies a market of multiple sellers and buyers where there is choice based on price.

Nigerians are not as gullible as you think. An average Nigerian is way smarter than you. Monopoly actually is a simple English word- Dangote sole supply. No Marketer needs to explain what Monopoly is to Nigerians.

Dangote a novice can only speak of his own cost, even though he confessed his price is being driven by international price not cost (another novice talk). Price in a deregulation is where Demand meets supply- Let all sellers give their quotes, the Market price is the one that gets demand. And Price would generally gravitate towards the Quotee that gets Demand.

If you understand the ills of Monopoly you would not suggest that Dangote should be sole supplier till another refinery starts operation. In a Monopoly where there is no option the objective of the Monopolist is to maximize Price/ Profit. The poorest country of the world would have to cope with inflation, starvation, collapse of SME and Commerce who all depend on PMS till another refinery is built.

Please seek education, you can't make up for a lacking intellect with ridiculous submissions. I recommend you spend some time on UDEMY rather than Nairaland. It would help you, trust me.

An whats the trajectory of the so called NUDPRC, have they not shown partisanship enough. who disparaged Dangote fuel as inferior and how true is that statement today

Its myopic to accuse Dangote of "Monopoly" when the same people inciting monopoly are the very ones sabotaging our national refineries from working

Do you even know what the PIA stipulates about local refineries and allotment priorities. Dangote is making a move to protect is investment following the PIA, after all PIA is not written by dangote, and it beneficiary to all local refineries within naija.

You cant bring a clone iphone to disparage my tm iphone market as "expensive and you expect me not to act or create awareness.

Dangote can only make is product competitive in a market where standard is enforced, we dont sell same quality and you dare say my product is expensive thats not competition

We have four dead refineries but those rogues tell us the only way to curb dangote is continue to import even at the detriment of our economy, and thats whats you are supporting
PIA-
Dangote operates in Free Trade Zone Area for independence reason. He is not a local refinery and not entitled to the dictates.

Dangote for the upteenth time cannot label a product of a competitor as substandard. He didn't test those products, he has no authority to and it is just deliberately misleading to label competitors product substandard. All agencies and inspectors certified this product compliant, except you show a contrary Authority to the contrary stop the rhetorics already. Stop it.

Same PIA stipulates NNPC (Government Arm) would not have beyond 30% supply share, to avoid monopoly. The Deregulation never envisaged Dangote's dream of a monopoly.

To further illustrate the devilish extent a monopolist can resort, you should reach his allegation against Pinnacle oil. A multinational Dangote had facilitated their establishment beside their refinery only to turn around to accuse them of intent to blend fake products all because Dangote saw they were not solely buying from him.

It's a bad dream to think of being the only seller of petrol in Nigeria. Dangote has been given all the leverage he needs to price competitors out of Market but Profit ambition would not allow him tolerate competition.

Except you're not an industry watcher, all these tendencies didn't catch anyone by surprise. Dangote's war with Marketers had started in 2021 when he sponsored a bill to ban Importation of fuel by entities who don't own refineries. It scaled first reading, a lot of underhand exchanges happened to ensure the bill was thrown out.

Dangote just can't thrive in a fair competition.

Providing low or substandard quality is that what competition means to you.

As much competition is sancrosanct, standard must be enforced for all players only then we can have a good competition.
You don't need much education to know NUDPRC, the regulator is the only body that can grade a product substandard. Stop echoing a Monopolist' sentiments.

Dangote has gone to President, NASS, Court to
compel NNPC, NMDPRA and Major marketers to buy from Him because he still has 500 million litres unpatrinized. So it's clearly, CLEARLY not about substandard quality but Monopolistic intent

Re-orienting Dangote is a community project- That his role in a Deregulated Market is not to grade products of his competitors, fix their prices or legislate compulsory patronage. All he has to is to make his own product competitive.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s NNPC Continues Importing Petrol, Diesel Amid Dangote Refinery Surplus by Aprocco: 3:40pm On Nov 17, 2024
Refiners Association AKA Dangote Refinery would have to stick to their roles as individual sellers and Allow the regulators play their role as well as afford the other sellers the peace to compete.

Very fundamental to deregulation is- All sellers are looking for highest prices while we buyers are looking for lowest price. Until IPMAN boycotted Dangote he refused to reduce price, calling competition substandard, saying he benchmarks International price rather than his cost of production.

Like Cement, PMS would reach ₦5,000 and Camels would ply 3rd Mainland bridge if we allow a Dangote monopoly.

It's actually more complex than that my Daddy.

There was a Regulated regime where prices were fixed and subsidized to ensure affordability. Now in a Deregulated regime, prices are supposed to be determined by market forces, where demand is chasing cheapest price and Supply is chasing highest price.

If there's no alternative for consumers to choose from Dangote would maximize profit at the expense of the populace. Imagine him saying I am benchmarking International Price rather than Cost to fix my own price.

Dangote actually has all the leverage to sell at N600 but wouldn't do so unless forced by competition.
