Confirm that when imputing your search details for the application, you filled your middle and first name on the 'Given Name' field
Yes I put both.. I even interchanged it at some point. When [First name Middle name] didn't work, I put [Middle name First name], still didn't work..

Greetings Bosses, you guys are doing a terrific job here. I was a silent follower on this thread for long but I reached out to guys here when my first TRV application was refused back in July. My second application has just been approved. We Bless God!

Here's my timeline:

M.Eng (Electrical Engineering, MUN)

1st Application: May 5th, 2017 (Paper route), linked it online.
Refused: July 7th, 2017 (Insufficient Funds for tuition fees, Purpose of Visit, & Travel History)
Ordered GCMS Notes immediately and it arrived on August 9th, 2017. VO said i was being sponsored by a third party (my cousin), limited evidence of relationship on file, limited travel history and weak evidence of personal financial establishment.

Meanwhile, it was a fully funded admission, i had to stress that in my second application while also tackling the above reasons.

Second Application: August 28th, 2017 (Paper route), linked it online.
Medical passed like three weeks later (same upfront medical i used for the first application)
Application updated November 14th, 2017. Approved (I checked my profile the night before (13th) and review of eligibility had not started)

Special shout out to @Thesoj; As soon as i got my admission in March 2017, one of my guys in Canada advised me to read all your posts from the beginning and i did, very enlightening. Thanks Boss.

Very big thank you to @Maziude 1 of Ottawa who reviewed my LoE and pointed out areas where i sounded desperate, Lol. Thanks Boss!

Special thanks to @Austinpee4, @Mcobex & @Jnyuwa02 for their inputs and advice on how to tackle my refusal reasons. I'm grateful.

I believe my Scholarship was overlooked in the review of my first application because of the way i filled the financial section of my first application form but @Osemigho's post on that subject ensured that i didn't make the same mistake twice. Thank you bro!

I'm happy to answer any questions and to help anybody in need of some guidance.

Cheers Bosses.
Heyyy.... Congrats ooo

- Settlement Province - You chose a province other than Quebec

- Your work experience must fall under NOC A, B or O.

Were you denied based on insufficient funds only? If yes, request for your GCMS notes and reapply. It is very easy to tackle. Your CRS score is low but you can use EE as plan B.
Thank you soo much glitteringstar, i really appreciate your response.. Yes i was denied based on only insufficient funds and i agree that its easy to tackle.

anyway in another case, how else do you think i can increase my CRS score?

I hope i don't sound somehow

Hello Everybody,

Congrats to everybody who got their intended scores in IELTS, also those who got their PPR.. and to the hopefuls, may God's favor and mercy be upon us .

Soo I just started reading this thread.. I wanted to ask if its possible to apply for study permit and express entry at the same time. I was reading up on "dual intent", so I guess its possible sha, here is the link for those who want more information:
www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/ temp/visa/dual.asp

Then I checked my crs score, i had a 404. I calculated it with an ielts result of 8777(lsrw) as I have not written IELTS exams yet and Bachelor's Degree (3 or more year program at a university, college e.t.c) as I have not evaluated my certificate.

MY PROFILE
23yrs
BEng Computer Engineering, Bells University (i hope that fact that i had 2:2 won't affect anything sha)
Exactly 2 years working experience in Network Security Engineering (NOC 2281 or NOC 2147. At this point, I'm not even sure which one).
Funds will be available in January 2018

Although I have applied for study visa and refused based on insufficient funds (lump sum). I plan to reapply in febuary 2018. I guess i just want to find out if its smart to do both at the same time.. or what do you guys think is better

Please forgive me if my essay is too long and confusing because me sef i'm also confused.

P.S
I tried to use WES free equivalency tool to evaluate.. i didn't find my school there huh so weird.. i hope if i eventually send my documents, it will be reviewed.
and i also have a CCNA R&S, can it be evaluated? because i see people evaluating their ICAN

Help me oo!! God bless.
Please someone help me oo.. abeg

Yes, that's what I meant.
okayyy I understand. But then again...
""“An intention by a foreign national to become a permanent resident does not preclude them from becoming a temporary resident if the officer is satisfied that they will leave Canada by the end of the period authorized for their stay.” Dual intent is present when a foreign national who has applied for permanent residence in Canada also applies to enter Canada for a temporary period as a visitor, worker or student. Dual intent on the part of the applicant is therefore not prima facie grounds for refusal of temporary resident status.""

""Refusals do not stem from having two intents. They stem from having a single bona fide intent (i.e., to become a permanent resident) and misrepresenting the second intent (i.e., to become a temporary resident) in order to achieve the first intent.

For example: an applicant for a work or study permit who indicates that they have no intention of leaving Canada has demonstrated only a single intent – permanent residence. This application would be refused, even if the applicant might qualify for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). This is because the applicant has shown that they do not respect the terms and conditions of temporary residence, should they not qualify for a Permanent Resident stream. ""

People please help me use second eye to look at this boya its me looking at it the wrong way undecided
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by aranymous: 7:17pm On Nov 12, 2017
Santino1:
If you check the link you posted carefully, you'll find this:

Temporary residence status might be refused for several reasons, including:

-history of having contravened the conditions of admission on a previous stay in Canada;
-lack of or insufficient proof of adequate funds to support oneself while in Canada, and to affect one’s departure from Canada;
-medical inadmissibility;
-not satisfying the visa officer that the individual will leave Canada at the end of their period of authorized stay.

Now, if I were a visa officer and I see your permanent resident application, I'd conclude that you do not intend to leave Canada at the end of the period of authorized stay. Thus, I'd refuse your application.

That is my opinion based on interpretation of the extant law.
Thanks for your reply @santino1. but i don't understand one thing tho, do you mean if you were a visa official checking out my study permit application and you see my permanent residency application, you will refuse my study permit?

To your statement as emboldened, new evidence will NOT be considered for a reopening of the refused application. Only error of facts or administrative errors on the part of the visa officer are considered regarding reopening a refused application. Another one is a judicial review decision by a federal court of Canada judge to reopen a closed application. Other than these cases, you can only reapply and pay new processing fees.

Since you have ordered for your GCMS file, i suggest you exercise some patience till it is out. The officer's note on the application will help you realise where the problem is and what to tackle.
Thanks so much. God bless you

I guess patience is the key here.

How about chances of getting a reply if i apply in Nov?? Or do i jejely defer and apply with admission letter stating a new date
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by aranymous: 2:16pm On Oct 09, 2017
Hello Everybody,

Top of the day to you all.

So I submitted my application 16th August and got a "REFUSED" reply 30th September and ordered for my GCMS notes October 5th. My admission is into Fanshawe College (Graduate Certificate, 8months course) for Jan resumption.

Since it takes a month for the GCMS files to arrive (i.e I will be reapplying in November), I am considering writing and attaching payment receipts to accra.immigration@international.gc.ca to review or reopen my application as I was denied based on insufficient funds. And re-applying in November for Jan admission is quite risky in the sense that I may have to defer to May.

From reading the thread, I realize I will have to open a dollar account and transfer school fees + living expense into it.. to show access to funds (incase that is why i was denied).

My question is:
1. Will sending a mail make them reopen the case?
2. Even if the mail does not make them reopen the case, will it affect my chances once i reapply in November?
3. Do i just defer my admission to May 2018?
4. Any other documents i need to add if/when reapplying asides the listed below?

Documents Submitted (Paper route)
All CIC documents
Statement of Purpose
WAEC Result
Secondary school statement of result
University Degree and Transcript
NYSC Certificate
Admission Letter and one payment receipt (the second one had not arrived as at the time i applied for visa)
Cisco Certificate
Birth Certificate and passport (My whole family)
Letter of Employment and Payslip
Popsi's Affidavit of support
Popsi's statement of account
Popsi's proof of investments
I think there was deed of assignment somewhere.. i can't remember all the documents abeg

PLEASE epp a sister. smiley
Thank you all.
