JEITO: you should even be thankful to the FG for offering to control and regulate disburstment of funds. Some states don't even have an effective tax/revenue collection mechanism let alone having a sustainable revenue generation system. Devaluation of power is tantamount to liquidating some states.
Abi u wan make states begin buy states or make states begin merge
On a more serious note, most states that complain of FG not releasing allocations is because their IGR is nothing close to their yearly budget. Complaint like this will not stop as long as the FG continues to control and regulate disbursment of funds. There is nothing wrong if a state merge with a more viable one. Nigeria is bleeding !! |
Politics › Re: APC Governors Confront President Jonathan for More Cash Allocation by Arch1: 10:20am On Oct 23, 2014 |
Lordlexyy: Fg has a big role to play in ensuring every state has a well mechanised system and structure that will ensure revenue generation is taken seriously. The just concluded national cofab provided such opportunity for germain issues like this be put to rest instead, very little important issues were priotised. For as long as fg has not provided a working economic road map that will cause states to take certain responsibility in income generation, nobody should be accused of what constitutionally belong to them. Very well said my brother The just concluded national conference was a complete waste of time and money. Can you imagine those old greedy buffons agitating for additional state creation when in actual fact some state needs to be merged with more viable one e.g Kebbi, Taraba, Ebonyi, Kogi etc. In my own opinion, True federalism, Regionalism and Resource control is the key. Nigeria needs to be restructured, there is an urgent need for devolution of powers from the central government. |

APC is a party of rogues and criminals, put them in power and this country will go broke.

Billyonaire: So it was in National Conference that Ibori and Victor Attah decided to invest their states resources in telecoms businesses ? Is it National Conference that States will decide to own airlines, cocoa and rubber plantations, and buy treasury bills to generate profits to develop their cities ?
When I said common-sense is not common, I meant it. You are always searching for a reason to blame your girlfriend for your weak e/r/e/c/t/i/o/n. Right now its raining, and my DSTV is scrambled, I should blame the rain for the poor DSTV signal instead of blaming DSTV ? ... And is Delta state and Akwa Ibom state now fiscally independent from the federal government? They still collect federal allocation from Abuja every month, dont they? James Ibori invested in his state resources so much so he his now in languishing in a british prison |

JEITO: Na by force for FG to fund una? Go and look for money elsewhere. Yes it is by force for the FG to fund them because of the system of government we practise. We need regional autonomy and devolution of power from the central government |
Politics › Re: APC Governors Confront President Jonathan for More Cash Allocation by Arch1: 8:46am On Oct 23, 2014 |
Billyonaire: States are corporate beggers now. Always going to Abuja cap in hand to beg for allocation when States could invest their resources on businesses to generate profit. When Akwa Ibom and Delta States under Victor Attah and Ibori invested in the then Econet, I thought the dynamics had changed, but not so for these 36 bandits in government houses. Niger Delta Oil money is all they focus on. Very shameful. ... Tell your president to convoke a sovereign national conference not like the jamboree conference we just had. Nigeria needs to be restructured. True federalism, regionalism and resource control would ensure that each state cater for itself without begging for monthly allocation from Abuja. Btw, i thought i saw Governor Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers state in the list. Isnt Rivers state in the Niger Delta? Shouldnt Governor Amaechi demand for his 'Niger Delta oil money' also? |
