This really goes out to introverts like me. I seek friendship, where we can chat freely on all things. Build a slow, but healthy electronic pal relationship, without intension to meet physically, not even a deliberate attempt to share photos. As a matter of rule, no personal questions are asked. Just stick to the gist. What I seek, is to enjoy brilliance in communication (eg sending out a nice quote; an immediate experience; your view on topics making headlines etc) Whatsapp seem to be a cool app, that fits all. Are there any interested folks? |

Modern methods used in running churches makes it difficult to run services without need for funds. In some cases, serious cash is needed to ensure comfort during services. This makes preachers seem to be concerned with money over the main objective - the good news. What should be the direction, de-emphasize modernization/comfort/accelerated propagation of the Word etc to reduce the temptation of being called names? |
jarsofclay: @posterAnd u think the chaff & wheat are payers & non-payers of tithe? I encourage u to view things as Spirit-driven. The moment ur leader is need/want & uses a means of giving by compulsion backed by a law. Hmmm...I think u should leave such assembly. |
DrummaBoy: Like my brother and friend Candour, I am loosing the steam to debate tithe on this forum but I just cannot but respond to this post. It would be good that tithe advocate check up the meaning of the word Principle in the dictionary and when they are through with that they should show us were, and anywhere, the Bible stated categorically that tithe is a principle.Well said! Wise giving is a good thing, especially when done with a cheerful heart. Some may ask, is there any such thing as unwise/foolish giving? Visit the 10 virgins on the parable that suggested the need for more oil. You tell me, a person owning a car & sowing a seed to a person owning a jet, is that wise giving? Sadly, it is believed that giving to mr. Jet, mr. Car's name will change to mr. Jet. |
queenpoker2: Mary my dearest mother pls continue 2 intercede 4 us ur children now n 4ever. Amen. Glory 2 Jesus, Honour 2 Mary...Glory is defined as a state of high Honour. In other words, you have said: High Honour to Jesus & Honour to Mary. It may seem fair not to assume christianity as one. Things seem to get complicated, if we try to reach the Supreme Almighty God (whom have accepted us with love as a Father) via a number of channels. A verse in the holy bible clearly states Jesus as the One mediator btw God & man". Also, as the Only way to the Father". |
I ponder and ask, what is the realistic expectation on what a career-oriented (driven by things learned rather than talents) person can achieve in the real material world? It saddens me that we worked the hardest back in school, regarded as the smartest and even envied. Reality today is that our employers either think we are overpaid or underworked, yet we can't stand up to the successful artist, movie presenters, producers, special show presenters, footballers, PAs to political office holders etc |
Why will discussion on this topic make front page? The more we build tickling ears for this, the sooner it will become a norm in our community. |
One theme common to folks who try to fix a plan is the building of as much savings as they can ahead of retirement. Life sometimes treat some much better (think about the proverbial 7 fat & 7 lean yrs) than others, making them experience more fat than lean yrs & sometimes all fat. The struggle for sustaimment seem unequal/unfair/not a level playing ground where one who had thought/worked/planned the most is sure to get a sustained future. Financial discipline that makes one see himself enjoy the boring life of contentment seem to be the key to life sustainment. This way saving for retirement does not seem like the goal, but is seen to be a result of ones lifestyle. |
