@aresa, the only problem am having with many estates commissioned by fashola is that the are too expensive. An average salary earner won't afford to pay for these houses.
I see what you are saying, but everywhere all over the world including Nigeria, people cut their coats according to their sizes. Home ownership is predominantly a middle class affair and not necessarily for the average income earner making N18,000/month. This is why all over the world they have homes in some categories of income earners and apartments for different income earners. Fingers are not equal.

The government can not sustain borrowing money with standard interest rates to building homes for N10 then turn around and give it away for N2 naira, doing so means you are asking the rest of Nigeria/Tens of millions to move into Lagos for almost free housing. This is asking for chaos and total state bankruptcy..

And if your dream is to own a home, then grow your skills, get a better income generating job and move up to the middle class or make more money. This is the case all over the world and this is the reason why people get better education or learn better paying skills.

One thing about ignorance is people talking for talking sake without basic knowledge about anything.

Go to akpabio's website, he listed on his website what he did, what he's working on and budgeted for?

We know what the man budgeted for and what he's building so you can not make up what doesn't exist or what the man himself did not claim he did...

I strongly believe that its either you have not been to Akwa ibom recently or you are biased.I am not from Akwa ibom but i was shocked by what i saw on ground 2 weeks ago when i went to Uyo.
For us to move as a nation,we need to praise performance and condemn non performance irrespective of our political affiliations
Tell us what you saw beyond the few roads and flyover?

I've been to UYO several times and the only place worth seeing in the state is the part of UYO where he built the few roads, flyover. Other than that, all completed are 1 library, 1 cinema and 1 football field.

Tell us what else is there apart from what I listed.

Your post makes so much sense and demonstrates how daft and docile Nigerians can be. It never ceases to AMAZE me how Nigerians can be so daft as to support and even defend governors that are obviously not doing anything!

@Mmsen aresa
WAS NOT attacking you, he was simply stating SOME VERY HARD TRUTHS!!!
If you think that Akpabio was such an excellent governor and rendered a good account of his stewardship why not list major projects that he has accomplishedhuh
Why do people like you act as though Akpabio is using HIS money to fund these projects? For goodness sake the money that he is blindly stealing belongs TO YOU AND I!!!! IT IS OUR RIGHT TO QUESTION OUR GOVERNORS AND ASK THEM TO ACCOUNT FOR THEIR BUDGETS!!

But they would continue to steal us blind as long as we have people who would go about singing their praises when they build one measly stadium.
@Mmesan Please stop defending the indefensible. Akpabio has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for Akwa Ibom!!!!
The thing is, they love to spin tales, but get's rattled when you question and trash their tales with facts...

I said apart from the few roads and the fly over which he built many years ago, all he completed are only 3 projects. 1 stadium, 1 library and 1 cinema?

Why not prove me wrong instead of spinning tales all over the place? Are we not all in this same Nigeria?

I didn't call anyone the best governor.

I just pointed out that what you said is not true.

And you have added more untruths by claiming that all of the things that I've listed are incomplete.

Why can you not make your point without making abusive statements? It is possible to refute what a person says without attacking an individual.
Is the hospital completed or do you mind telling us why after 8 years in office and the largest budget in Nigeria 8 years is not enough to complete 1 single hospital?

The storm drain you listed is uncompleted so why insult us with that?

Just look at the things you listed, barely 4 lines while , but I can fill 15 full pages on NL with hundreds of Fashola completed projects so what's your pint?

And about Lagos and 30 years ahead, everything I posted about Fashola was done within Fashola's 8 years in office and not anything before him.

Fashola and Akpabio entered office same year so this is fair and accurate comparison.

It has been a lot more than just a few roads, Akpabio has put in place a plan to fully connect all localities within the state, connecting formally isolated communities with bridges and building roads to an exceptional standard. On that point I must stress the importance of building a road correctly the first time around instead of doing a poor job and then having to pay again for it to be redone in a few years.

AKS roads have been built largely by Julius Berger to the highest specifications, this is in stark comparison to Lagos where Arab Contractors have built roads in the past few years that already look to be in bad shape and exposed drainage on both sides.

A system of underground storm drains has been put in place in Uyo with a plan to increase the network across the state.

A specialist world-class hospital has been built in Uyo that is close to coming into operation.

One of the best hotels and golf courses in the country is now in Uyo - which is much patronised by those who reside in Abuja (in particular) but elsewhere.

The university of Uyo is now in much better shape than it was previously.

Don't get me wrong, I am very fond of parts of Lagos but to compare AKS and Lagos you have to remember what each of them inherited - AKS is not even 30 years old (it was created at the same time as Katsina) and Uyo was not in good shape when Akpabio came into office, meanwhile Lagos is the former Federal Capital. What Akpabio has done has been good but there are questions as to how much wastage there has been. My hope is that in time Nigerians will learn how to govern themselves without abusing their power - we must remember that this experiment with 'democracy' is not even 20 years old but from what I've seen of Nigeria nowadays to what it was in 1999 and 2001, things are significantly better.

P.S.
Is there a good reason why Lagos still does not have a viable football stadium to host international games?
Like I said, I said all he he completed after 8 years in office and the largest budget in Nigeria are the few roads, flyover, 1 library, 1 cinema and 1 football field.

The rest of the crap you listed are all uncompleted.

Fashola built many hospitals, health centers, burn centers, nursing schools, but after 8 years in office and the largest budget in Nigeria, Akpabio is yet to complete 1 single hospital and to you, he is the best governor in Nigeria?

Fashola built many schools, but Akpabio did not build 1 single classroom after 8 years in office and the largest budget in Nigeria and to you, he is the best governor in Nigeria?

Fashola built 29 skills acquisition centers, Akpabio did not build any, and to you, he is the best governor in Nigeria?

Fashola built 15 waterworks, but akpabio put plastic water bottle on scaffolding and called it water works, and to you, he is the best governor in Nigeria?

Where are the housing estates?

Where are the government buildings and institutions

Where are the bridges?

Where are the visionary projects?

Again, you need your head checked...

APC problem! All you need to be a PERFORMER is to be on their side. It's a foregone conclusion that the best Governor in Nigeria is Godswill Akpabio. World class infrastructure, second to none has been his knack! Fashola comes second, but with more money (Fed allocation and IGR); then the others come in. What are you talking about?
If with the largest budget in Nigeria, 5 million population and 8 years in office and just a few roads built, 1 football field, 1 cinema and 1 library Akpabio is the best governor in Nigeria, then you need emergency brain surgery...

Akpabio's achievements can not go over half a page on NL and you can not show me anything he completed after showing me the few roads, flyover, 1 library, 1 football field and 1 cinema.
