FSBoperator: “In some cases, when they insert their names, you will see their name in the payroll. You will see their email. But when you check the account number, you will see the name of another person. So, that is how these things have been done,” he explained.
This is not possible without connivance by staff within the IPPIS pay roll.
The system is designed in a way that salaries and emoluments are sent to accounts with matching names and BVNs in the IPPIS data base.
I know a young lady whose salaries were stopped because her bank had yet to do a change of name on her account after she got married but IPPIS reflected this but anytime they attempted to pay her salaries, the money bounces back to ippis because the names don't match. It is done by the staff in the ipps payroll. Not in connivance they're the ones doing it. |

abduleez1: The Devil's Advocate..........5.5/10
i found its execution and delivery watery, despite having an interesting premise. i wasnt really moved by the story as it looked basic-- run of the mill'. Maybe the problem wasnt the movie but probably the fact that i watched masterpice GOATED movies such as Schindler's List, There Will Be Blood and Inglorious Basterds before it that makes this one pale so poorly before them since the quality wasn't remotely close at all.
Just watched this to see what the fuss was about with how Joseph1832 was pushing me to see it. Downloaded it for several months earlier this year and decided to give it a go now since i was looking for something less serious and hopefully have a good time. I wasn't going in with high expectations but even at that the movie actually failed to impress me and I just remembered the gut feeling that has made me avoided the film all this years.
I understood what the movie was trying to say with the idea that the devil as we always love to blame isn't really responsible for our bad decisions and sins. It depicts humans having the innate ability and free-will to make our choices that eventually shape our lives either good or bad.
But still, the movie wasn't for me as it fell flat for me with the execution. At least this film depicts Keanu Reeves in a role that he is tolerable and believable after just realising while typing this that my complaint of his flat and impressionless acting was prolly the reason why Joseph recommended this to me.
One of some films where the brezz and nudity pretty did nothing for me as it felt unsexy and wasn't clicking, despite the fine specimens.
The third act of the film was probably the biggest contributor to its faltering, as it felt pretty weak and a little uninspired. Again you're watching it with modern eyes. Another banger form the past that you're scoring like this. Advice leave those old movies. They'll never do well for you |

abduleez1: Alien (1979)..........6.5/10
Just maybe cos I'm watching this movie several decades past its cultural zeitgeist, that's probably why it ain't looking all that to me. It must have been breathtaking at the time especially with the top tier visual effects of the film which somehow holds up to this day.
I get how Ridley Scott instantly shot up to GOAThood pedigree after delivering a film of this magnitude and sprang up a film franchise that's still bankable to this day.
It was an entertaining watch nonetheless, just not the type of mastery and storytelling I was probably looking for. You watched it with modern eyes. That chest burst scene was talked about for decades. |

kpankpangolo: What was that travesty called The Matrix Resurrections? Utter waste of time. Nineteen years of hope and we got offered sh!t on a platter. I will never wish for a sequel to movies I truly enjoyed. James Cameron got things right with his Avatar sequels. Before those were a thing, good sequels were ubiquitous in Hollywood. Were no better directors consulted before this was greenlit? What a smelly, wet fart on fans of the franchise. I am utterly disappointed. No wonder I didn’t rush to the cinemas. You need to understand the directors transitioned from male to female therefore " the one " also had to transition since that's their greatest hit hence trinity became the one. They must have been high on some cheap over cut shit to have made that movie. It was utter shait. Horrible. It was picked up on the shores and tossed back into the waves upon inspection. |

Tickles001: It makes a lot of difference. Women calculate their departure with two factors. How would it favour them and how would it hurt him. This is the two main factor.
Keeping her in Nigeria gives him enough time to gap her in terms of finance, exposure and connection. It will take a long time for her to catch up, and by the time age would have mellowed her too.
Women don't mistreat or leave a man they look up to. The mistreatment sets and divorce usually sets in once the woman feels she can get better out there. Better than the man.
By gapping her well, the man creates options for himself making it difficult for a divorce to hurt him much. She will also feel at a loss divorcing her stable husband to get into the dating market for scraps.
A woman only leaves when she's got nothing to lose.
My interest is to set the man on a safer ground regardless of what the wife decides to do. Whatever you've described up there isn't a marriage. I would rather stay single than think like this. Anyway every man to his own as what you've said also has happened to so many people and also not happened to so many people too. I cannot be thinking and be afraid that my wife would get a better man than me. She should go then. |

Tickles001: 2yrs is too soon. 7yrs will allow the gap to settle and narrow the rebel window. Abroad equips women with the capability to be as cruel as they have always wished to, and they never skip that opportunity. If that thought is even in his mind about a rebellious wife then probably shouldn't take her along at all instead of living in perpetual fear of wahala. P.s 2 yrs or 10 yrs won't make a difference. If she's gonna leave she's gonna leave |

Tickles001: Take this from me. Travel alone first and allow your wife and kids remain in Nigeria. You can bring her over after seven years or so, or if possible encourage her to stay back in Nigeria while you visit. 7 years is too long. After a year or 2 he should be able to if he means it. Particularly if they haven't got kids yet. If he is going to school then she can work or vice versa. Somebody would have to work because school would kill the finance. |

Kokaine: Wow. I didn't know it was like this in lagos. We also have light here constantly. Sharada is a prime area in kano so I don't think there are places where they pay much more than this. Definitely not up to 100 naira.
I noticed that life in the south is generally more expensive than the north in many aspects maybe except education. Thats the only thing I think is more expensive here than the south from my interactions. That's why a 150k salary here may offer the same life comfort with someone with almost 400k in lagos. I once got a job in lagos with free launch and free accommodation in three bedroom flat in ikeja and 450k salary. I refused it. There are different bands in Nigeria. This is band A. You're lucky to have constant light at this price. Lagosians would almost kill for this. It was evennhigher previously I think it came down abit. I'm so glad the weather is cold now so no need for ac. Previously that 2k won't last the night with ac on my usual bill. It is well. |
Politics › Re: Tinubu Government To End Electricity Subsidies In 2027, More Hardship Looms by armadeo(m): 7:08pm On Aug 01 |
Kokaine: To be honest electricity is over subsidised.. Imagine paying 14 naira per kilowatt hour in kano municipal. Sharada for that matter.
That means if I run a ceiling fan of 120watts for 12hours over night, I would spend just 20 naira. This is why people waste electricity by leaving appliances running even when they're not at home Sir, please say your own is subsidised and don't think that's what everyone else is paying. I'm.paying over 200naira per unit here in lagos. Only benefit is I have light constantly. The light is usually always there..
