GreenCovering: No institution, school or system has the right to set rules in violation of a fundamental provision of the constitution which allows for freedom of religion.
Hijab wearing has nothing to do with extremism. As much as muslims try to separate extremists from Islam as not part of us, muslims also should not be hurt where the constitution already protected them. Non muslims always using institutions to undermine Islam and later on wondering where the radicalisation is coming from.
Wrong. They have a right to set their demands and you have a right to ignore them and go somewhere else. If it were the only school I would have said its wrong and that's discriminatory? However once there's a choice then they can do as they deem fit.
BozzDaddy: Are you minding such a crook. Only people that don't know what applying for UK visa means will fall for this bullshit story. Imagine how long he was already in the UK before trying to bring his legitimate wife then he forgot that he actually entered the UK claiming to have a ghost wife. Who no waka no fit ever know how far. The funny thing is that the British are well to smart to detect a foolish lie and so they will definitely give a clean judgment without error. I can only wish him a good stay in detention at the moment and a safe flight back home on deportation. Some Nigerians are terrible, I can never forget one of my trips from UK to Nigeria on holiday. There were some deportees in the plane that day. You need to see how they were chained and carried into the plane like Christmas goats. I was in disbelief but then I saw why they were treated like that because they were insulting the officers and promising to ensure the plane doesn't get to Nigeria. Myself and other people were scared and decided we were not comfortable flying in same plane anymore until the officers made us understand that they deal with such cases on a regular basis and so we should be calm because once the plane takes off and it's gets to about 2-3 hours out of the 6 hours flight, they will all become sober because then it will dawn on them that they are already heading back home and there is nothing they can do. Honestly speaking, just as the officers said, that's exactly what happened and that was the time (about half way the flight) they removed them from chains and they were all very sober till we landed Nigeria in peace.
Let the clown be talking as if everyone is an idiot.
You filled single on your visa yet you're married abi?
If they don't deport him for immigration fraud he should thank God.
I still don't understand why our people will still be doing in a place where they're hated
While I understand your point I can also see it from their point of view.
Many of those migrants have completely relocated with no " structure" back home. Their roots are elsewhere and starting afresh isn't an easy thing to do particularly when you've been in a country for 10 years or more.
It's not that easy to pack up and leave when there's no plae to land.
I saw it online. The video was even there of the disfigured guy. It has to do with elder brother wanted to Bury one of his late wives while younger brother go marry new wife instead of supporting the burial or something like that.
I gave up on Marvel shows a long time ago due their poor writing quality. I only gave this a chance because of Nicolas Cage. And this was pretty enjoyable.
The show was mostly grounded with almost no over-the-top fight scenes. Instead it was more of a character focused story with the early 1900s mob setting.
A major issue i had with this was that for a show set in a City with over 2 million people, the city did not feel alive...budget constraints i believe.
I also think Nicolas Cage carried this show as hard. The script/writing was nothing special and it felt generic a lot of times.
Overall, the show was enjoyable but nothing special. If you want a reason to watch it, watch it for Nicolas Cage...
I watched the show in color btw...I do not see the appeal in watching this show or any show in black and white.
I'll probably see this on the weekend. I started it but slept off. Reviews are looking good
Eagleways: Oga, not PCN in Nigeria for now. They don't do settling o. My wife is a fully licensed pharmacist. If you don't do the right thing even as a full member, you would be dealt with.
Leave am make e dey talk there. I have made this waka before and I now it's a dangerous thing to do if you don't have everything lined up.
frankson1: My youngest sister just opened has and she paid for registration and everything. They went to her space to inspect and check if she created the standard distance from her store to other pharmacy.
They have guidelines to follow but lovers of Nigeria and those who want Nigeria to be better, will always call the right things wrong because of hatred for the government or their association with the tribe involved.
Na chemist shop she open not a pharmacy unless she's under a licenced pharmacist. Na licence dem dey take open pharmacy not by renting shop.
Chemists shop has a union and you can register with them to start selling.
This isn't a serious movie, or a serious franchise for that matter 😔.
I held this off just long enough for the day I was finally bored out of my mind to watch it, and that day finally came, and maaaan, what a hot mess it was.
Like, 20 minutes in, I just paused and burst out laughing because I couldn't believe the bare shít I was watching 😂😩. From then on, I clocked that it was a gimmick film. The plot doesn't even want you to care or get invested in it. I don't think even James Cameron believed in this story, he just wanted to flex visuals and chill. I couldn't be arsed to remember the last one or even Google it beforehand, so I was just hearing random names like Lo'ak, Talunka, Enywa... like, what are we even doing here?? 😩
The first one was cool and groundbreaking at the time, and had an actual relatable story you could get behind. A soldier with barely anything to live for enlists on a dangerous mission to another planet, tastes that sweet blue Navi'ssy, shít was good, and decides to settle down and get more of said Navi'ssy... like yeah, relatable.
But this one? I didn't even know what they were fighting for. Not that I cared anyway, because there were zero characters in that MF I genuinely cared about. The seemingly only redeeming feature would've been the visuals, but even that got a tad boring and monotonous after a while.
I get why James Cameron is soldiering on with this gimmick franchise because, even as bad as this was, it still made money. But I'm glad I didn't contribute a dime. My bird vetoed us seeing it at the cinema last December. I was vexed at the time, but man, God bless that woman because Lord knows I would've come to blows with the Filmhouse manager if I had paid to see this debauchery.
It might be anger, recency bias, or exaggeration, but it is genuinely one of the worst films I've seen in recent times. And trust me, I have seen some truly despicable films... this one takes the cake.
Absolute rubbish!
2/10.
First avatar I was blown away Second I was like ok Third I watched the recap.
P.s check out movie recaps for films you really need to see but don't want to watch.
"The rise and fall of a streaming era pioneer show".
The Rise (2013 - 2016)
There was a time when primetime TV and cable TV shows held sway. Shows like "The Wire", "The Sopranos" and "The Vampire Diaries" dropped new episodes every week with huge excitement and anticipation. Then the "binge" era came around circa 2012/2013, pioneered by Netflix, and they were looking for that one show to break the ice, to break the hold that traditional serialized TV had. So entered "House of Cards".
Now, to call this show a phenomenon at the time might be an understatement. It basically put Netflix on the map. An adaptation of a show from 1990, which itself was adapted from a 1989 book, it revolutionized what a political thriller could be. The showrunner was Beau Willimon. For context, he was involved with Andor S2, so anytime he steps out to make or write a show, you'd know it's gonna be a serious, serious project.
House of Cards centred around Frank Underwood, an immoral Democrat politician, and his equally ambitious wife Claire Underwood, and their eventual scheming, manipulation and dramatic rise from the Capitol to the White House as POTUS and FLOTUS. S1 and S2 especially were peak TV political drama, edge of your seat stuff.
The show's reputation was almost single-handedly bolstered by its lead, Frank Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey. A crazy adherent of the method acting school who seemingly couldn't separate his real-life self from the character. This show was Kevin Spacey and Kevin Spacey was this show.
There was this recurring gag by Frank Underwood where he hits the table with his ring as a celebratory gesture, a show of intimidation, political trademark and personal branding that became so popular and synonymous with the character that it's rumoured Netflix got their now-famous "tudum" sound branding from it.
The show also popularized the 4th wall break on serialized TV and, together with "Fleabag", it's the best use of it I've seen on television. Everything freezes as Frank Underwood talks directly to us about his scheming process, and it felt so personal.
Then suddenly, after 5 really good seasons, the show took an unexpected turn that it never intended.
The Fall (2017 - 2018).....
There is a saying that goes, "Oh man, if you can control your libido, you can touch the sky".
In 2017, allegations started coming out that Kevin Spaceywas touching and caressing young boys willy, back in the day. He tried to brush off the allegations and put them down to youthful exuberance, and he came out immediately afterwards. But the PR damage was already done. Netflix duly fired him from the show, and neither he nor the show was ever the same.
Now, there are some characters that completely embody the art they are involved in, and it simply won't work without them. Like I stated earlier, Frank Underwood was House of Cards and House of Cards was Frank Underwood.
After much rewriting, the 6th and final season was released with his character killed off, and his wife Claire Underwood becoming the lead and now POTUS in some woke feminist gibberish garbage fest. And all respect to Robin Wright as Claire Underwood, she tried her best, but she was no Frank Underwood.
By then, Beau Willimon had already stepped down after S4 as showrunner, and charlatans who didn't understand the show took over the direction and writing, and of course it duly tanked. The ratings graph across all seasons encapsulates my thoughts better. The sharp decline in ratings by S6 really tells the whole story.
Kevin Spacey's career derailed after that, effectively getting "blackballed" in the industry, so much so that there are rumours he currently can't even afford housing, which is such a shame because he really is a very, very talented actor.
Despite all this, I'd still like to think this show is one of the greats. A true pioneer of the type of shows popular today, and one I'll always have fond memories of.
I saw a trailer of this show on you tube. The minute he broke the 4th wall I was in. I followed it till he was written off and wasn't even aware about the scandal then.
I lost it at the last season when he left and didn't bother to finish it.
